Zurich: Chocolate Tasting And Walking Tour With A Local

Basically the tour guide went around the main part of the city going into shops that offered free candy and here and there bought a few small chocolates and something you yourself can do. Complete not worth it. So disappointed!

James is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. He also has a great sense of humor. We enjoyed our private tour with him that included multiple chocolate stops, cheese and ice cream! He gave us time to sit for a few minutes and was attentive to our pace. Going private is a plus! James is a great tour guide too!

I had high expectations for this tour. Sadly, it fell short. For the cost, certainly not worth it. In and out of 7 chocolate shops and a taste from each. The chocolate was excellent but certainly could have done the tour on our own. Our guide was pleasant and shared some interesting information but not enough to justify the cost. This is the first Viator that we have done that left us feeling disappointed

Not worth the money. A simple google search and you can find the chocolate shops on your own. Guide was ok. Truly regret the amount spent. I wish there were more reviews. Might have chosen a different experience.

The two-hour format was just right: well-paced, engaging, and full of variety. We came away not only with a newfound appreciation for Swiss chocolate, but also for the city itself. The Chocolate Tasting and Walking Tour in Zurich with Natalia was delightful. We would never have found these special chocolatiers on our own. She knows them all, and the hot chocolate she treated us too was the Best!! She also knows the history of Zurich's old town and introduced us to the Town Hall. We highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful walk around the city stopping into several shops for a tasting of local chocolate varieties. Definitely worth the walk with a bum knee.

I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews, but so glad we did it. James was great! We had many many tastings. He gave us a great tour, was very informative and we had amazing tastings!

Our guide James was amazing! He gave us very interesting facts about things we saw in the city. The chocolate tastings were amazing! He took us to many many locations. I highly recommend this tour. I was worried after reading some of the reviews but the tour I had was very good.

While our tour guide seemed affable, our tour with him did not match the description of the tour online. After an hour of walking and stopping in several chocolate shops, we did not get one tasting. We kept asking about the chocolate tastings and he kept offering coffee. The chocolate in Switzerland is amazing, but we had to experience that on our own. A very disappointing tour.

We reserved this tour as it touted getting both the history of Zurich from a local as well as hidden chocolate shops to sample from. I will repeat what the description says regarding tastings: “enjoy plenty of samples along the way”. That is a direct copy and paste. We, however, were not given any samples. Our guide informed us that we will be getting 20 Swiss francs each to spend, but we would’ve appreciated recommendations on what to buy or how to spread out our francs through each store for tastings. Our tour guide was friendly and we enjoyed his company and the information on Zurich, but I would like to see the description of this tour to be more explicit that chocolate samples will not be provided by the shops, as what it implies, but samples are what you need to buy on your own given voucher. It is not worth the money, it is incredibly expensive. I feel like we got ripped off. Stick to what is known and go to Lindt.

Emeline was a fantastic guide, my girlfriend and I, we had delicious various tastings of the wonderful Swiss chocolate. It was superb ! And the nice thing was that it was only the three of us, so very special. Strongly recommended!!

This was the worst tour we have ever had. The guide was late and unprepared. He was looking at his phone for directions on where to go. I don’t think he had ever been in any of the chocolate stores. He couldn’t tell us what was good about any of the different chocolates. We would have been better off just going on our own. It was so bad we ended the tour early.

A very pleasant afternoon stroll through Old Town Zurich with Emmaline, a local sharing her love of the city. For the price, we expected to taste more chocolates than we did.

Visited 4 chocolate shops that one can easily do on their own with a little research. Overpriced for the quality of the tour.

Helene did a wonderful job with the history of chocolate making! We had a wonderful time with her as new very much about the city of Zurich.

We had a wonderful tour with Sheena. Not only did she take use to four amazing chocolate shops she gave us a lot of suggestions of other things to see and do in Zurich, especially places to eat. This was a delicious way to start our short visit to Zurich. I'd recommend this trip.
