Zurich Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems

Gustavo was friendly, well knowledgeable, and a great guide.

We booked a private tour for 3 people on Friday Oct 23 at 9:45am. On Thurs Oct 22 at 10:13am (after I had already received my confirmation from Trip Advisor) I received a text message informing me that the tour I had booked almost 2 weeks ago (and prepaid) was not available and that I was free to join a group tour later in the day. I booked the private tour because I needed that time slot to accommodate the rest of my activity schedule AND I wanted a private tour. The operator was not able to provide us with a tour. So, after booking well in advance AND paying- my tour was cancelled INSIDE of the 24 hours TripAdvisor and this tour company requires US the CLIENT to cancel a tour within. Super disappointed in the vendor’s lack of professionalism AND TripAdvisor for allowing this to happen on their site.

Great walking tour of Zurich! We got to see many beautiful parts of the city. There were lots of steps, and definitely worth it for the amazing views and scenery. A few things were unfortunately not open during our visit, but a great way to explore beautiful Zurich.

Santiago was a nice guide but we felt the tour was rushed. We paid for a 2 hour tour but it was only 1 1/2 hours long. We would’ve liked to hear more about history and architecture like other Viator city tours we’ve experienced.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with about Swiss history. She was very enthusiastic and engaging.

Prior to arriving in Zurich, Gustavo contacted us to see if we could start the tour earlier than scheduled due to the extreme heat. That was a good call and we appreciate him for requesting this change. It was really hot. The meet up location was in a good, convenient location. The tour was awesome. Gustavo was very knowledgeable about city and its historical venues. My wife and came away from this tour with a better understanding of the history of Zurich. Because my wife and I are up there in age, Gustavo recognized that the heat was slowing us down, so he took to a cool restaurant for us to cool off, get a beverage, a rest a little before continuing our tour. We really enjoyed taking this tour with Gustavo. Great job!!!

Gustavo was so knowledgeable. He was enthusiastic, welcoming and vibrant. The small things like always checking on everyone in the group and taking us through secret city passages made this tour like no other. It was the perfect way to see zurich by foot, and to make a list of things to go back and visit the following day! Thank you so much!

Our guide was very nice and enjoyable to be with, but I had a hard time understanding what he was saying due to his heavy Spanish accent. So unfortunately, I did not understand what he was saying about 40% of the time.

We had an incredible tour with Gustavo! From the very beginning, he was warm, kind, and incredibly accommodating. My mom occasionally uses a wheelchair, and he was so thoughtful and patient, making sure she was comfortable throughout the tour. Zürich can be challenging to navigate in a wheelchair, but Gustavo adjusted the pace and route with genuine care. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating history, local culture, and hidden gems that we never would have found on our own. As a bonus, he also speaks Spanish, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our family. At the end of the tour, we realized we had accidentally left something at a store, and Gustavo graciously walked us back to help us retrieve it. That level of kindness and customer service went far beyond our expectations. If you’re looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, personable, compassionate, and truly cares about his guests, Gustavo is the one to book. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

Provides a very good overview of the old town Zurich on both sides of the river. Mostly a neighborhood walk with several unique sites that provide additional insight into the history of the city. Guide was very knowledgeable and a great personality.

We were 6 minutes late due to ride problems and were left in the dust. Called and texted - asked that someone double back to pick us up. Still waiting for reply.

He was knowledgeable about Switzerland and Zurich and also shared personal experiences that gave us deep insight into the state of affairs—cultural and political and historical—in the city and the country. We enjoyed this tour as we wondered the Zürich cobblestone streets, into churches, by the waterways and to other interesting places. Gustavo was a great guide. He told interesting facts and stories about the history of the city which made it a fun experience. We ended the trip by going to a chocolate stop. Yum!!

No guide came to the meeting point. After I texted them several times, info email about refund came... Absolutely unproffessional and scam!!!

Gustavo was a wonderful guide! He took us all around the city, including to some very hidden places. He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting.

My tour guide for this experience was Gustavo P. He was friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about Zurich. At each stop on the tour, he helped orient us geographically within the city. Gustavo clearly loved sharing Zurich with us and told us not only cultural and historical knowledge but also where locals head for a night out, etc. As a small group, he was able to make the tour feel personal. I learned tons and had a great time!!

We learned a lot about Zurich. Such as how the children get to school, only a few families own most of the property in the old town, and in warm weather, people jump in the lake to cool off. We waited in front of the Central Plaza Hotel as instructed to meet up with the guide and group but the group was across the street at the corner. I guess new instructions were posted on What’s Up. However, I don’t have an account on that App.

This was a great tour and a nice way to see hidden corners of the city that we surely would have missed. Our guide Ezekiel was lovely and went out of his way to make sure we got out of the tour what we wanted. I highly recommend this tour as a way to get off the beaten path! Well done!

Our guide, Zaki, was a friendly, well-intentioned pt. However, he was short on historical knowledge and historical facts.

Host was very nice. Host was a last minute sub as original guide had to cancel time. The new guide did not tell any stories about the city. We learned nothing new. Had a good walk-we could have done on our own. If this had been my first working tour -it would be the last. Not worth paying for-felt like the guide that had to cancel should have done just that!

We booked this trip 6 hours before it was scheduled to occur. We had no problems. We were glad we took the tour. Santi was great!!

The tour was rather disappointing. I had anticipated a rich historical narrative and tales about the city, but the guide seemed unfamiliar with the city's history. We simply strolled around the city without any further explanation beyond the names of the locations.

This was a very entertaining tour, and both the guide and the participants connected very well. Zurich is a historically interesting city, and every story our guide shared was unique and fascinating.

The tour done by Sebastian was the best decision we made! It was our second time in Switzerland and we were looking for a walking tour which would teach us more about beautiful city of Zurich. Sebastian explain everything in a very informative and fun way, and we didn’t even notice when 2 hours passed. Our tour guide was also very friendly and gave us many tips regarding nice cafes to visit in the city. Highly recommend this tour!
