great walking tour of the historic old town. Loved the folklore stories as well as the factual information.
Sophie was excellent. She took her time explained everything and answered our questions. A definite to get a perspective of Zurich.
Marie was great. She showed and told us about places we would have never seen on our own.
Great, value for money tour - we went everywhere & our guide Lukas was great, showing us things we would have never seem otherwise!
It was not we expected in a city tour. Our guide appeared to be unprepared, unprofessional, and negative.
We had an excellent and informative tour. Our tour guide is a long time resident and knows all the history, details & interesting stories. She was able to get us into special places that you wouldn’t even know were there. This was a more petsonalized tour, better than a big bus tour. This is definitely a tour you don’t want to miss.
A three hour walking tour that included a tram ride, hills, and stairs. Our guide, Sophie, was excellent and had a lot of information to share.
Great tour of Old Town, with unexpected discoveries, like Einstein’s uni locker! Guide Lucas was good fun. Wear good walking shoes and bring a water bottle!
Our tour of Zurich was very good. Alex, our guide made it interesting and shared a lot of history about Zurich.
Excellent, comprehensive tour of old town, both parts. We saw multiple hidden gems we didn’t even know existed. Guide provided great insights.
You will see both the obvious historical highlights ad well as hidden gems around both parts of the old town. Great narration of history and the sites. Friendly and engaging guide. Good exercise as well, wear good walking shoes.
It was a nice tour but not the depth of historical context we are used to in city tours. Guide was friendly.
Our Tour Guide was incredible, she literally opened our eyes to Zürich-ancient and up to today! Plus she was sensitive to our slower needs while helping others on tour to move forward. And we had the pleasure of fun fellow tour members!
Guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, personal and friendly. He took us to sites we would not been able to find on our own.
Fantastic walking tour of the old town of Zurich with an excellent guide, Nabila! We really enjoyed exploring the sights, squares, churches, and beautiful architecture of this gem of a city. Nabila was so knowledgeable and friendly, and made this a great experience! Would highly recommend taking this tour!
Hands down, an absolute excellent experience! A great two hours relearning and remembering all of the history that I took in school! That was mixed in with Maria’s sparkling commentary. Two comments—take hydration with you and wear comfortable shoes. My highest recommendation for a tour around Zurich
We had a great time waking around Zurich and learning so much!
Maria took us to places we would have never found out on our own. If you're interested in some history and some unusual ruins and locations then you would like this tour. We were able to see also the city from above and she pointed out all the interested places that we have just seen passing by. She also pointed out good places to eat and drink and suggested activities to experience for the next days. We had a great time!
Had a great time walking around Zurich and learning so much history! Would definitely recommend!!
Great experience. Visited a lot of niche areas of town. The unfortunate part was that many buildings were under construction at the time. Overall, would recommend!
Solid tour and a great value. Nice way to get highlights of town.
Our guide, Alexander, was prompt, professional and fun! This was a tour filled with magical secrets of Zurich Old Town guided by a true local. We got to see Albert Einstein's locker at the technical University, the gorgeous churches and the lovely Chagall windows! We, also, saw Secret gardens and majestic views!
Sophie was extremely thorough and thoughtful on her tour. She was very engaged with our small group. If you’re visiting and would like to get a behind the scenes view around the oldest parts of Zurich this is a great option! Both couples in our group enjoyed tremendously. Well done Sophie!!! From the Canadians!
Helps to know a little about Zürich and the Reformation in past centuries, but Sophie is wonderful in joining the dots and clearly passionate in sharing information with you.
The tour with Maria enabled us to experience many hidden treasures of Zurich not typically found in guide books that tourists can easily miss.
From our first moment meeting Alexander, he was friendly and welcoming. He took us to many unique and interesting places around the old city center and provided us with a wealth of historical information. I especially appreciated that he paced himself based on our questions and needs. If you want to see beautiful Zurich from a local’s perspective, we highly recommend going on this tour with Alexander.
Great itinerary, a lot of historical facts and fun stories about Zurich. We really enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone visiting Zurich.
Maria was super friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Old Town Zurich. Maria spoke both English and German and switched between languages so everyone could understand what we were looking at:) We had a very positive experience with Maria as our guide.
This was a great way to orient ourselves with Zurich the first day we arrived. We adjusted our schedule to see different aspects of the city after learning there were more interesting places to visit than we'd originally planned. Our tour through the universities showed us unexpected historical perspective. And, our tour guides pointed out some budget-friendly options for dinner!
Maria was a fantastic guide. We covered lots of ground and she pointed out many sites that were above street level that a casual walker would miss. Her wanderings led us through narrow alleyways that clearly showed her intimate knowledge of the city. Definitely good value for an expertly guided tour.
Great experience, Maria was very knowledgeable.
Great tour of the city! Took us to places we would have never found with beautiful view points of the city. You take a 2 minute funicular ride up to the University that Albert Einstein attended. Our tour guide had keys to get us in to see the wall that used to protect the city and the old sewage tunnel. It was really cool and the host was personable!
We enjoyed the tour and would have never seen all the hidden sites without the tour guide. Glad we did it.
Nice walking tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and went at our pace. We lucked out and were the only two participants.
Alexander our guide was a gem! He was personable and knowledgeable and gave us a wealth of insights into this magnificent city! Highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this fascinating walking tour of Zurich. Our insightful and charming guide enabled us to understand present-day Switzerland as he brought its history to life with intriguing stories and thought-provoking commentary.
Maria was our wonderful, knowledgeable tour guide. We saw many sights and learned lots of history. It was a great experience!
This was an amazing tour! So so much of Historic Zurich I would never have seen without this tour. Be prepared to walk! Lots of stairs and uneven streets.
Great tour and very informative!! Maria took us all around the city and neighborhoods we would have otherwise not seen.
This was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Especially since everyone in the group had arrived today and were all tired. My favorite part was a couple side quest tours of the old sewers and Albert Einstein's locker. I would recommend this tour as the first thing you do if you're new to Switzerland.
Great tour, interesting stories of the city, good guide. A bit of walking and stairs but not too difficult.
We had a lovely experience with Maria today. She is very knowledgeable and we enjoyed waking around the city and seeing places we otherwise would have missed.
My guide Arianna was delightful and offered very interesting pieces of historic background while taking us through the tour. I’m vet glad I chose it as I had little time in Zurich and this allowed me to see short glimpses of important sites. She also knew good sites for pictures which was a bonus
Our tour was very interesting. It was after dark and churches were closed, so it was not the same itinerary as advertised. But we still walked in the historic district and we saw Einstein's old locker in the University. We were able to ask questions about life in Zurich with our guide. I only wish that we had done the tour sooner in our stay in Zurich, instead of our last day. We got tips on some additional out of the way stops that we never got to visit.
Take the tour at the beginning of your visit if possible. We weren’t able to go until the evening before we left Zurich.
A great tour. Maria was fantastic A very nice overview of the old city and history of Zurich. We had a wonderful time
I came to Zürich for a couple of days on my own before a business trip, and booked the tour with Der Nachtwanderer. I often do this in cities and this tour exceeded my expectations. Maria came to Switzerland I believe over 20 years ago, and loves the city and it's history. She showed me so many wonderful places — the university where Einstein studied, two beautiful and important churches with gorgeous stained glass windows and significant history with the Reformation, a portion of the original city wall, and images and relics from the city dating back to at least the 12 century. The stories Maria told really brought things to life for me, such that the next day when I was walking around alone, they came back to me, and I really felt like I knew the city somewhat well at a deeper level. Her fondness for Zurich is contagious. Highly recommend this tour.
Enjoyed seeing inside church and crypt. Interesting old town lanes. Cool to walk through historic city sewer. Thank you Maria for a nice afternoon
Insightful and helpful, 2 hours was a great intro to this wonderful city but so much more to learn !
