Itinerary
Hotel Pickup in Zurich – Begin your private tour from Zurich with a comfortable ride to the Rhine Falls. The driving time is about 45-60 minutes.
After about 1 hour drive you will reach the highlight of this day, the magnificent medieval Laufen Castle overlooking the Rhine Falls. Today the castle serves as a tourist attraction and contains a restaurant. From the castle, a footpath leads you to several viewpoints near the Rhine Falls. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the water flow. Entrance fees to the Rhine Falls: Adults 5 CHF, Children 3 CHF)
Explore Europe's largest waterfall and one of the most important tourist attractions in Switzerland! Enjoy the unique view from the panoramic lift and see how an average of 700000 liters of water per second plunge over a width of 150 meters into the basin below. The Belvedere Panorama Trail takes you to the viewing platform directly above the falls, where you can feel the spray of the roaring water. Take time to admire the panoramic view from the glass elevator or hike to the viewpoints above and around the falls to marvel at the roar and power of the falls. There is also a playground, stores and restaurants on the grounds. 15 minutes Boat trip included (Adults 8 CHF, Children 5 CHF) (boats run from April until October)
Scenic Drive to Stein am Rhein (20 min) – Relax along the Rhine River with picturesque views. Guided walk through the old town of Stein am Rhein, enjoy the medieval feeling and browse handcrafted gifts. It is known for its well-preserved medieval half-timbered houses with painted facades, which can be found around the town hall square in the old town. After walking through the beautiful town, we reach the St. Georgen monastery on the banks of the Rhine, a former Benedictine abbey with a museum.
The medieval Hohenklingen Castle stands on a hill above the town. We will visit the old castle and enjoy the wonderful view over the region, the medieval town Stein am Rhein and lake of Constance. The castle is closed on the following days: Mondays from May through September, and Mondays and Tuesdays from October through April. (Instead of the castle, we will visit a medieval monastery.)
Return to Zurich – Comfortable drive back to your hotel after a magical half-day tour. Driving time 60 minutes.

Reviews
Martin was a nice guide. Was disappointed that the experience was advertised to include a visit inside a castle but we were not able to experience this as it was closed on Monday. You should not advertise or allow a booking for an experience that a local guide should know is not accessible.
Martin was excellent ! I had a great time. Leaving a little early allowed us to best the crowds.
