Itinerary
Check in for your tour at the bus terminal Sihlquai and board the coach. The journey begins with a round trip along the most important sights of Zurich.
Along lake Zurich you will then travel to Rapperswil and visit the castle with its rose garden and the deer park. You will also have some time at leisure to stroll through the picturesque Old Town.
In Vaduz, the capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein you will have more time at leisure. A visit to the Post Office is recommended; the famous stamps from this tiny state are coveted worldwide by philatelists and amateur stamp lovers alike.
After a drive through the Rhine Valley we finally arrive at Maienfeld, the setting for the Heidi stories. In the summer months you visit Heidi's village. A pleasant short walk leads to a collection of typical mountain houses, a village shop, and of course lots of little goats. Entry into the authentic Heidi House is optional.
A beautiful trip back to Zurich along the banks of Lake Walen, guarded over majestically by the Churfirsten mountain range brings to a close this most nostalgic of Swiss tours.
Please note - in wintertime, you'll visit the quaint Swiss village of Werdenberg instead of Heidi's village.
Then after crossing the Ricken Pass with its panoramic views of the Alps we reach the lovely Toggenburg region whose pretty hill and valley scenery is perfect chocolate box material!

We had an awesome time with our English and Spanish speaking guide, the driver is a master of precision driving and parking (10 stars to Mr Milan!). The trip was timed perfectly allowing us to see rose gardens by the convent, climb to the view point and walk around the castle. Thanks to our guide's recommendation we had a lovely savoury Swiss speciality cheese tart called Käsewähe / Chäschueche in Rapperswil (served with a portion of nice side salad - a must try!). We went on to the Heidiland (worth seeing, buying tickets for 3 building replicas and 4th one is free to enter). You can feed the goats if you buy a little bag of compressed pellets (they love them, and are very friendly!). Little souvenir shop (where you can buy your ticket, and use the toilet) has really nice gifts and chocolate, worth exploring. It is so great to hear such interesting facts from very kind and professional guide, I wish I remembered his name! We had a very good time, it was our very first trip in Switzerland, we arrived with no expectations at all. This trip could be easily starting an hour earlier to allow more time in Heidiland and Liechtenstein. We were so enchanted by the nature of Heidiland, friendly goats and gentle ring of cows bells, and the Alpine crystal clear water (yes, you can fill your water bottle from that tap by Heidi's house!). Tried and tested, refreshing spring water that quenched our big thirst after all the excitement and exploring). We continued to Liechtenstein, got our passports stamped (3CHF), had enough time to visit a church at the top of the main walkway, near the government and the parliament buildings. I have not seen that many sculptures on the streets of any European city outside Italy, true feast for the eyes encased by the beauty of Alps seen in every direction, very inspiring! The beautiful Liechtenstein castle towering above the town reminds of incredible capacity of human engineering. Very romantic view, especially at the sunset! I can only recommend this trip, be ready to fall in love with Switzerland, and want to see even more!
Switzerland is beautiful and especially when visiting Rapperswil, Heididorf on the way to Lichenstein. The tour guide was knowledgeable, however, with so many Spanish speaking tourists Spanish was spoken more often than English. I would suggest in the future having separate guides for English and Spanish tourists.
Thank you very much to our excellent tour guide Raymond and to our driver Milan! They were great!!
The first stop was a medieval town called Rappswil. It was very charming. Our Tour Guide had given us a recommendation for a restaurant, and they had very good “cheesecake“ —what we would call quiche. We next stopped at Heidiland, a rather kitschy reproduction of the home of the protagonist of “Heidi.” The best part of this was the view of the Alps. Then we went on to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. An easy to walk small town. They will stamp your passport if desired, for 3 CHF. The ride back was quite scenic as well. It was a day well spent.
Great day trip that follows written itenery schedule thar makes for an enjoyable day of sightseeing.
Really enjoyed the tour but felt that the first stop for lunch could have been shorter and we could have spent more time at Heidiland. The tour of Lichtenstein was also a bit short. The guide gave some information during the bus trip, but we felt that she could have given more details about the areas we travelled through. She was very friendly and kind.
Great time and friendly tourgiude and driver. Great trip for seniors! Very comfortable bus and beautiful scenery!
The tour was good, tour guide provided a lot of info throughout the journey, also helped that it was a small group.. so it waa more intimate. Rapperswil and heididorf were enjoyable. Mpst of the shops in vaduz were closed because it was a sunday.
I joined the rapperswil , heididorf and vaduz tour. The tour departed punctually. Guide was informative and provided a lot of details throughout the tour. Vaduz was a bit dead esp on a sunday and most shops were closed. It was a nice day trip to discover new destinations.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant and the bus driver was very good. There just wasn’t a lot to see and nothing is included. The Heidiland cost 12 CF to go inside and you buy your own lunch. But the guide made it fun.
Excellent tour and such a great way to maximize our time in the area! Our tour guide and bus driver were both fantastic. Honestly, we booked this specific tour mainly because we wanted to go into Liechtenstein and check it off our countries list. 😉Everything else was just icing on the cake! One of the fun parts was getting our passports stamped in Liechtenstein and walking around the pedestrian area of the capital. We also have to admit that we had never even heard of Heidiland before booking this tour! 😂 It ended up being such a great stop, with beautiful scenery and incredible views. Rapperswil was another excellent stop and the perfect place for us to grab lunch. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations and gave us a chance to see and experience so much in one day. Highly recommend!
Nice tour excursion. Mr Raymond is our tour guide is very knowledgeable and our bus driver is very professional. We arrived safe from our trip. The Vaduz, Liechtenstein is boring ang nothing really exciting to see. The palace was close and only open once a year. There is a gift shop that stamp your passport for 5 francs.
Meeting place is at bus station which you should mention. Tour should start on time. Not wait for 15 minutes for no shows and then rush the tour. Heidiland is a stop where an additional ticket is needed to get inside the houses. Rapperswil was lovely but were rushed up the hill and stairs. Liechtenstein was very nice but stop could have been more time, maybe an additional half hour.
A wonderful day in Switzerland! Ramon was an excellent tour guide who led us to the beautiful old town of Rapperswil, then on the Heidiland (which was lovely and not at all the tourist trap we were expecting!), then on to Lichtenstein, so we could all claim another country. Delightful day!
The tour was good. Our first stop in Rapperswil was really interesting. A beautiful town to walk around. The recommended place for lunch was good. Heididorf was ok. We had great views and it was nice to walk around. We didn't pay to go into the buildings. Liechtenstein was nice and I would have liked at least half an hour more to explore Vaduz. It was an easier to get to Liechtenstein compared to public transport, just not enough time there for us.
This excursion provides an opportunity to get an overview of Zurich before heading out of the city to see more beautiful places. Tour guide and the driver of the bus were amazing. The tour was in English, but the tour guide speaks 4 languages. Bus was modern, clean and equipped with WiFii. The town of Rapperswil was lovely. Beautiful architecture. Heidiland is located in a beautiful setting. The landscape along the drive is breathtaking. We were disappointed in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. We went on a Saturday and most of the shops were closed. The town was empty except for tourists like ourselves on bus tours. It felt like a souvenir stop. You're not there long. We had just enough time to walk from one end of the town to the other and visit the Cathedral.
Want to visit the small nation of Liechtenstein and don't want to spend time with travel logistics? Then take this tour. Easy, no-stress tour from Zurich to the charming town of Rapperswil-Jona to Heidiland village and to Liechtenstein. All three stops were enjoyable. Professional staff.
Great experience! Our guide Walter Speirer and driver Xavier gave us the best experience exploring! I loved the opportunity to stay with Walter or do a little of our own exploring. He gave great information during and between stops.
This was a very enjoyable day. Joining instructions were clear and simple and the guide and driver were helpful and friendly. The coach was comfortable and clean. The trip would benefit from an earlier start. Heididorf was excellent but, as the principal aim of the trip deserved more than a rushed 55 minutes. Starting at 10.00 would have greatly improved the experience
Great tour for the money. Walter was an exceptional guide and Xavier our driver was fantastic. It was a picture perfect day and most of the sites looked unreal like you entered a postcard.
it was a long journey to Heidi land. some attractions required additional entry fees. Enjoyed the return trip through Lichtenstein, a worthwhile stop. some very beautiful countryside. our guide spoke 3 languages and was able to provide us with some entertaining and informative information along the way.
A lot of wonderful sites on the trip including heididorf. Great guide with plenty of knowledge. Xxxxx
The countryside visited on this tour is simply sensational. The majestic mountain peaks, pristine verdant valleys, and flowing aquamarine waterways were like pumping oxygen continuously through our lungs. Margaux was an excellent guide, upbeat and informative, respectful and responsible. Lichtenstein is a country that should not be overlooked.
You will visit Rapperswil in addition to Heidiland and Liechtenstein. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The guide was knowledgeable, helpful, and insightful. I would recommend it.
Great trip and good / knowledgeable guide .Enjoyed the stop at Rapperswill which is not highlighted as part of the tour. I recommend this trip
The tour operator was on time, bus was very clean, internet access, driver was very good and safety minded, trip narrator was very friendly and informative.
Margaux and our driver were great. I learned a lot on the tour. I never read the Heidi book but you don’t have to have read it to enjoy the tour as the scenery is beautiful.
Could spend less time at lunch to allow more are Heidiland. Guide was good but could have shared much more intend insight into Switzerland and local culture. We got the basics- would have liked more.
A great tour from start to finish. We enjoyed the tour out of the city towards Rapperwil where we stopped first with lovely views over the lake and a really beautiful town. The trip towards Heidiland was very scenic through the countryside with a really good guide Raymond explaining things we passed in great detail. Heidiland is a bit of a trek through countryside from the car park but really lovely views again. We then visited Vaduz which was extremely busy as there was a festival on, not exactly sure what for but there was plenty of food and drinks on offer. We then had our passports stamped in the nearby shop for 3 CHF which quite on the trip did. Overall a lovely tour from start to finish and would highly recommend.
The sights were great! Needed 10 more minutes at Heidiland and perhaps 10 fewer minutes in Rapperswil. Our guide was delightful but it did bother many of us that she got back to the bus AFTER the appointed time for ALL THREE STOPS! Also, the tour time from pickup to drop off was 8.5 hours, not 7.5. Two people were 15 minutes late one time but the company should show their return time more accurately to allow for tardiness and whatever else. We had to cancel dinner reservations because of the extra hour as did another couple we knew. I doubt we were the only ones who had problems because we planned on 7.5 hours. We actually thought that included some tardiness and had hoped to get back even earlier than the 7.5 hours. Just know to plan for 8.5 hours and pray yiu aren’t waiting on the tour guide at every stop. All were there for 2 of the stops wondering where she was. It was only on one stop we had to wait on other sightseers from our bus.
If you're familiar with the story of Heidi I would recommend this trip. A visit to rhe fictional village was cute. Our first stop in Rapperswil-Jona (Town of Roses) was enjoyable, although we were not aware until we were off the bus that this was a stop for lunch too. We had packed a lunch and left our bags on bus, so couldn't access it. While some of the group had gone into a restaurant to eat we wandered around and back-up to the castle. If we'd known we would have stayed up at castle to have lunch and explore more. The views at the top were wonderful. We felt it was wasted time for us. Our guide, Walter, while very knowledgeable was maybe a little slow guiding us up to castle and up hill to Heidiland. The journey into Leichstenstein was a highlight for our teens to enter into another country. Not a lot to do there with the limited stop time.
The tour was not engaging enough to occupy a full day. Could have been compressed to a half day tour only for Heidiland. Lichtenstein did not add any value to the tour, neither did the initial city leg upto Rapperswill.
Great day out, Rapperswil was an unexpected surprise in its architecture, would have rather had the first/ lunch stop at Liechtenstein to have more quality time there but overall great day trip out of zurich!
It is a cramped large tour group so be courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed the stop at Rapperswill and The end stop at Vaduz. Honestly, unless you are bored, are a fantasy story lover, or with young children - skip Heidiland. More time in Vaduz would have been better or more time in Rapperswill for a boat excursion would be time better spent.
Wonderful experience, especially through the local guide by the name of Raymond, who sheds light on the history really enriching. It’s a must see item, highly recommended.
This was a beautiful trip. Raymond our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Dragon our bus driver did a great job maneuvering the bus on the narrow streets and getting us back safe. The trip starts with a city bus tour in zurich and after they take you to rappersvil where the views are Beautiful! Followed by heidiland and then Liechtenstein. The views on the way alone make the trip worth it. Heidiland views were also amazing. You don't get to spend much time in heidiland or Liechtenstein but it was really hot so it was fine with us. You get 4 tours in one with this one. Well worth it! Really enjoyed this trip.
This was a very nice tour. Raymond, our guide, and Lawrence, our driver, did an outstanding job of taking care of us and guiding us through the tour.
Our guide was very personable, but a bit of a fast walker. That said, he was considerate enough to wait for the slow ones in the group. There isn’t much time to see inside the buildings at Heidiland. Tickets aren’t included in the tour, and the line to buy them moved very slow.
Walking and lots of it, including a slightly steep incline walking to get to Heidi’s house. Be prepared for later than scheduled arrival back to Zurich as traffic can be an issue later in the day
Spectacular scenery! Loved it! Just wish we could have stayed in Leightenstein longer. Don’t forget to take your passport to get it stamped there.
Excellent guide and tour operator
Great time. Saw lots. Tour guide very informative.
Heididorf, was amazing experience. The tour was great. The guide tour was very nice person and has a lot experience about Switzerland history. Thank you so much!
It is decent. We spent too much time in Heidiland since you have to walk a bit. They should have some transport to the village for disabled people. We got to Vaduz in time for every store to close :(. Our tour guide should have known this. Too much time on everything else before we got to the highlight of the trip… Liechtenstein! Should call the tour EVERYTHING ELSE BUT LIECHTENSTEIN.
Amazing experience. Ray was flexible and he spoke many languages so that was impressive. Dragon the driver drove safely. Bus was very comfortable. Those who were into Heidi relived childhood dreams. I was interested in Letchenstein and it was small. I wished there were bike rentals to ride along the river even for a short time!
Great trip, the view was perfect, our Guide Carsten was perfect. for someone who want quiet trip, heidiland is amazing
great tour, saw lots of incredible landscapes and scenic points. the stops were great but the route was very nice as well
This was a well put together itinerary at an almost perfect pace (would have loved a little more time at Heildi Land). Brilliant for families as it was interesting to us all (we had a 7yr old with us). Make sure to visit the restroom at every stop as there’s long (but comfortable) drives between stops. All three stops were delightful and it was excellent value for money.
Walter and Milan provided a great trip! Lots of fun facts along the way to all the stops. The a/c was wonderful on the coach and they did not mind snacks and drinks as long as the food wasn’t messy or smelly! All the stops were super beautiful and the chance to get to Liechtenstein was really special!
