This review is only for the restaurant/grill. Food: 3 - a bit overly buttered but otherwise not anything extraordinary. Presentation - very nice. Service - poor. Largely ignored during the entire meal. Had to ask for bread. Then butter. One of the dishes was not what we ordered. Duration between courses was so long to be laughable. Decided not to wait another 30 min before getting dessert so asked for the check. While paying, I asked to see if they had dessert (maybe it was too late?) - the response was - “oh, do you want some?” Poor showing for a supposedly nice Zurich venue.

This hotel was lovely. We booked it at the last minute after realizing the hotel we had originally booked had no air conditioning and the forecast was calling for over 100 degree temperatures. They gave us two spacious adjoining rooms that were beautiful and comfortable. The front desk staff was warm and helpful. The location was beautiful. Would highly recommend this spot.
The location of the hotel is good. It’s right by the lake. You can easily walk to Old Town, and even the pier where the ferry cruise docks. And the shopping street is also nearby (with the beautiful lake of Zurich, the walk is always delightful). The tram stops are nearby too either a block away or a few mins walk to the Opera House where there are more tram options. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve had (and I’ve been to plenty of places from Peru to Iceland to Japan, among other places). The hotel room is great mainly because of a foyer when you can close the door to the living and bedroom (vital when you have kids and don’t want to disturb their sleep, and you need to shower and go to the bathroom). Moreover, keeps the noise down from the hallway. The clientele here is different from Ameron Luzern (where I went after Zurich) because in Luzern, most guests are tourists. In Ameron Zurich, the guests are mostly business people (there is a conference room in the upper floor and plenty of executives are there daily, even in the restaurant having breakfast). As such, this gives the hotel a sophisticated vibe, which I like. The restaurant is also beautiful - try to sit right by the street, especially during summer and when the sun is out. There is a section there that feels like a sunroom. The hotel room has a quirky design though - by the entrance door, there is a small step. Slightly annoying when you have a stroller (and you can trip on it if you’re not careful). I just wish though they had flowing drinking water in the lobby (in Ameron Luzern, one can go down to the lobby for they had still and sparkling faucet/fountain for the guests, and most refill their tumblers there). Unless one could just drink straight from the hotel room’s bathroom sink faucet?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Gem on Lake Zürich! I had a truly wonderful stay at the AMERON Zürich Bellerive au Lac. The location is absolutely perfect—right across from the beautiful lake, offering stunning views and easy access to scenic walks, while still being within comfortable walking distance to the heart of the city. The hotel itself beautifully blends elegant, classic Art Deco style with modern comfort. My room was exceptionally clean, stylishly decorated, and featured a very comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The attention to detail in the interior design is impressive. Every member of the staff I encountered was professional, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making me feel valued from the moment I checked in. The dining experience at the chic on-site restaurant was another highlight, featuring delicious food and fantastic service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zürich looking for a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and a prime location. I will definitely be returning
I had the pleasure of staying at the Ameron Zürich Bellerive au Lac, and it was an excellent experience overall. We stayed in the Junior Suite with lake view, and the room was absolutely beautiful. The design is very stylish, modern, and thoughtfully put together, with a strong sense of detail and atmosphere throughout. The welcome was warm and professional from the very beginning, which set the tone for the entire stay. Breakfast was another highlight. There is a wide selection, high-quality products, and it is served in a very well-designed space. The hotel has a unique mix of modern and classic style, which gives it a really special character. The location is also great. Right by the lake with stunning views, next to the opera house, and also not to far from the old town. In my opinion, this is definitely one of the best four-star hotels in Zurich, with a very strong price-performance ratio. At the moment, it is even my personal favorite in this category. Highly recommended.
