Our stay at Pullman Zhangjiajie from July 12 to July 15, 2026 was one of the most disappointing experiences of our trip. We are a family of six and stayed in Rooms 1416 and 1418 for only three nights. We spent most of our time outside the hotel and never requested housekeeping service during our stay. After checking out and traveling to another city, we discovered that several of our valuable personal belongings were missing. The estimated value of the missing items is approximately USD 3,000. This was not just a financial loss—it ruined our vacation and left us feeling shocked and deeply disappointed. We chose Pullman because we trusted its reputation and expected our belongings to be safe. We sincerely hope the hotel management takes this matter seriously by reviewing CCTV footage and room access records to determine what happened. Every guest should be able to trust that their personal belongings are secure while staying at your hotel. We are sharing our experience so that future guests are aware and take extra care with their valuables. We also hope the hotel will improve its security procedures to prevent this from happening to anyone else. We believe the truth will come to light, and that every rightful owner deserves to have their property returned.

Save your money and stay at Hilton Garden Inn instead. The room is old, outdated technology, small, and does not deserve the label "five star" hotel. The toilet is so outdated it can barely flush. The air conditioner barely works and will stay warm no matter how much colder you set the thermostat to be. The view is ugly too. The bell service is just the worst, they will never come out when you arrived and have luggage, so you will definitely have to take out your luggage on your own. When they did come to you, they will walk so slow until you finished unloading from the car then help you roll your luggage around, which makes them practically useless. When I checked out, they didn't even come out to help you load your luggage to the car. Seriously, do not even waste your money here, you better off staying at 3 star hotel since that is the quality of service they provide. 1 out of 10, will never come back.
Pullman Zhangjiajie is an upscale hotel in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, minutes from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, it offers spacious rooms, modern facilities, multiple dining venues, pools, and fitness amenities. Its location provides easy access to major attractions, including the Avatar-inspired sandstone pillars, Tianzi Mountain, and the Glass Bridge. Breakfast can be crowded during peak hours, so arriving early is recommended. Nearby restaurants and a lively night market offer convenient dining options outside the hotel.
The Pullman Zhangjiajie is widely considered the most reliable international-standard hotel in the Wulingyuan area. For travelers heading to the "Avatar Mountains," it offers a balance of modern comfort and incredible proximity to the scenic area, though it retains the classic, slightly grander feel of an established five-star resort. The hotel's biggest selling point is its location. It is situated in the heart of Wulingyuan, which is the most convenient base for exploring the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Proximity to Park: It is roughly a 10–15 minute walk (or a very short taxi ride) to the East Gate (Wulingyuan Entrance). This is the main gateway to the Bailong Elevator and the Yuanjiajie area. Neighborhood: Directly outside the hotel, you’ll find a vibrant area with local restaurants, foot massage parlors (essential after a day of hiking), and the Charming Xiangxi Theatre, which is right next door. The Stay Experience Rooms: The rooms are spacious and often feature balconies with mountain or pool views. While the hotel opened in 2007 and has a more traditional aesthetic, it is well-maintained. The bedding is consistent with Pullman’s global "Global Bed" standard—very comfortable for recovery after a 15,000+ step day. Service: The front desk and concierge are particularly helpful with logistics. They can assist in pre-booking park tickets (which is vital given the daily quotas) and explaining the complex mountain routes on a map. Breakfast: The buffet is extensive, offering a mix of Western staples (eggs, pastries, coffee) and local Tujia specialties. Vegan & Dietary Friendliness For those following a vegan or plant-based diet, the Pullman is one of the better options in a region where "specialty" diets can be tricky. Breakfast: There is a wide array of fresh fruits, steamed sweet potatoes, corn, nuts, and various vegetable stir-fries. #Zhangjiajie #Pullman #Hotel
Very disappointing. This is such a old hotel with no new renovations done to it. The lobby and dining area are not even heated (staying during winter) and the staff such as the waiters were not welcoming. The room is disappointing with mold on the curtains and no bath tub in some rooms despite paying the same price. The wifi is terrible even my cellular data is 10x faster. Corridors are not lit well and no improvements to such an old hotel. What lacks in design also lacks in service. Very disappointed with this hotel.
