Zermatt Village & Matterhorn Glacier Tour | From Zermatt

I signed up for the tour in Zermatt, Switzerland on Friday, October 30 at 12:30. However, when we arrived at the designated meeting place for the tour, there was no one there to greet us. After a series of emails with Tours of Switzerland, the tour operator, we were told that there was no tour scheduled for that day. In light of this situation, I have requested a full refund of the purchase price of the tour which was never scheduled. I attached the emails from Tours of Switzerland to that request as support for this as well.

Absolutely appalling service from Tours of Switzerland. Tour guide did not show up for our 12.30pm meeting and we received no communication of a cancellation. Wasted a lot of time waiting, searching for the guide and trying to reach the contact numbers provided to no avail. Very stressful. We’ve booked many tours through. Viator and have never had this happen before. Ended up doing this excursion ourselves but were short on time with the wasted effort trying to join our no show tour. A big thanks to Viator for providing a refund, though no explanation was given for what happened to our tour.

Best with kids amazing experience

This was a great tour with a lot of interesting facts that I would otherwise have not known. Beautiful area to visit. Must see scenery! Our guide was very personable making it our experience. The only downfall was finding our guide as we were given just a street address to meet not a specific location. We wandered for a half hour prior to finding our guide.

Our tour guide arrived after a 3 hour train trip from Zurich-it looks as if there was no local guide as advertised. As we are staying in Zermatt, we thought as advertised there would be a train trip but there was not. There was also no tour of Zermatt itself and we left the village after 10 minutes and we were given no details of the village. We don’t think the guide had a great deal of local knowledge and therefore we did not feel we had value for money and could have done the tour ourselves for less than half price

This is a great experience - spectacular views of the Matterhorn and neighboring peaks and glaciers all along the way. There is a short walk to the cable cars and then two cable car rides to reach the Matterhorn Glacial Paradise. Great views from up here as well as ice caves to explore. Remember to bring warm clothing! Salma our guide made the experience very interesting by telling us the history of the Zermatt town and surroundings.

This tour was long, but really lovely! Salma had so much knowledge and was so informative. We really enjoyed the views of the Matterhorn and had a great experience overall. Zermatt was also a very cute town and we learned a lot by walking thru it. All the train tickets and the Matterhorn ticket were included and it was so nice to have someone take us and know exactly where we needed to go. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to see the Matterhorn and Zermatt.

We had a great time walking around Zermat with Salma! She took us up to the top of the glacier near Matterhorn and we enjoyed speaking Spanish with her as that is her native tongue. She was very friendly and knowledgeable.

We booked directly with Tours of Switzerland because the price was cheaper directly than through Viator. I exchanged several emails, picked a tour and paid their invoice. There was no communication from them after the invoice was paid, so I assumed all was set. On the day of the tour, nobody showed up, their phone number goes to voice mail, there was no response via email. And now, almost two weeks later and two more emails, there is still no response. This totally feels like a scam. I filed a fraudulent charge with my bank. We ended up going by ourselves. Save your money - just get your won ticket.

Lincoln He was very willing to adjust to our wants as we progressed through tour. Good information about the area and interacted with all in the group. He has been one of our better guides we have had the pleasure to be with.

The tour was highly informative from a historical point of view, not just the amazing views of the Alps. Victoria, our guide, was a savior as I surprisingly had severe altitude sickness. He knew what to do and after normalizing things, got me on my way down.

After reading a few of the reviews, I was concerned when we received emails the day of the tour that it was going to be delayed, but Michelle showed up. Delayed due to train scheduling to Zermatt. She was an excellent guide and only one other couple on the tour, so plenty of time for photos and poking around. I would definitely recommend this and the glacier portion for a tour!

The guide canceled the time (after I arrived at the designated spot) from 12:30 to 1:50. Then after I showed up at the designated spot I couldn’t find him. Texted him he told me by the cabs. Still couldn’t find him. Asked if he had a sign or something to identify himself but he didn’t answer me. Kept texting him to no avail. I stayed there at the zermatt train station for over an hour texting and looking for him. Finally left and am asking for my money back. I was looking forward to this tour and was greatly disappointed. I have been on many tours and have never had this problem before. I appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you.

We booked two tours totaling around €2,000. One tour was cancelled just hours before it started. For the second tour, we were told it would operate, but when we arrived at the meeting point, no tour guide showed up and all calls and messages were ignored. This appears to be fraudulent behavior. Be very careful

Booked a tour and no one showed up. There was no communication or explanation, and it ended up being a complete waste of time. I did receive a refund without any issues, which I appreciate. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but sharing this so others can be aware and be cautious. Would not recommend.

Jean Baque was an amazing tour guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable about Matterhorn. He took me to all the great views and made it very enjoyable. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this tour.

Leighton was the best guide. This is a must do. We had a small group and Leighton made us all feel like family. Breathtaking views, the guide had lots of information on Zermatt and Switzerland history.

Leighton was AMAZING!!!!! Highly recommend him as a tour guide! We did Zermat Glacier Paradise and it was extremely worth it, if you are in Zermatt you are a must do.

Leighton was an amazing guide, going out of his way to make sure the day ran smoothly. He is a fountain of knowledge and made sure everyone was well taken care of, even the Celuac traveling with us. However, Viator switched our trip to a small group without telling us or mentioning a change in pickup location. Luckily the tour company was on top of it and everything worked out perfectly!

The trains, the professional care, and most of all getting us all up to the lookout platform so we could fully appreciate the beautiful Swiss Alps and especially the Matterhorn

Had a great time with Juliana! She took really good care of us and we didn't feel rushed. The highlight of the tour was the ice cave for us. We were able to see breathtaking scenery. Would highly recommend this tour!
