The hotel is perfectly located in the center of this quiet yet charming city, making it very easy to walk around and explore. Breakfast was excellent, not crowded, with a great variety of well-prepared food. The room combines a modern classic design with a very inviting atmosphere, making it ideal to relax after a long day. Overall, a very comfortable stay, especially for those looking for a calm and convenient base in Zaragoza.

Probably the best hotel in Zaragoza , cozy rooms , comfy beds . A bit far away from the old town .
If you get the feeling you’ve arrived at a McKinsey-optimized hotel: Let’s remove everything that isn’t absolutely necessary. It may unsettle guests, but they’ll still book.” Fun fact: A. They won’t book a second time. B. They will write reviews. So you arrive at a five-star hotel, pay good money, walk into the room and think: “Has this room actually been prepared for me?” Water from the tap: available. Bottled water: not available. No, I don’t want to drink chlorinated tap water, and no, I don’t want to go to the supermarket, and no, I don’t want to go down to the bar. I would simply like the **welcome water** that is standard in most hotels — especially in Southern Europe. Hand soap: available. Body lotion / hand cream: not available. Coffee machine: not available. Kettle: on request. What you receive is a yellowed plastic kettle, two sachets of instant coffee, and three unpackaged tea bags: chamomile, rooibos, and pu-erh. Green or black tea — the usual options? Not available. A biscuit or a small chocolate treat? Of course not. And here’s the best part: Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby: available. Wi-Fi on the floor: not available. Despite asking twice, there was no response at all. The result on my side: I had to buy additional mobile data. Of course, a hotel can choose to operate like this — a strict minimal-cost principle. But the overall impression is that you’re simply experiencing one cost-cutting measure after another. For the price — and frankly even regardless of the price — this is very, very frustrating. There will definitely not be a second booking from me.
The hotel was NOT a luxury experience. We were there 6 nights, and the only good thing was the breakfast. The breakfast spread was fabulous. The hotel had a moldy smell, carpet and curtains were frayed, stain and dirty, no hot water, the shower would turn on randomly, the water leaked all over from the shower and bath, stains everywhere, dust, lighting was out or flickering, the pool was only open for children for 3 set hours a day, when I asked help, they clearly didn’t have the staff trained or enough of it to properly service people in a 5-star manner, the pillows were terrible. The staff were very kind individuals, but asking for anything most of the staff seemed clueless. I’ve had better pillows at a Motel 6. The WIFI in the rooms was 1 bar that kept dropping. Almost impossible to work. It was a huge disappointment as we were booked for so many days and I’d prepaid. I should’ve taken more photos. The parking garage was nice, but expensive.
I stayed at Hotel Reina Petronila in Zaragoza with a friend, and overall, we were satisfied with our stay. The hotel is pleasant and offers good service, but in my opinion, it feels more like a solid 4-star hotel rather than a true 5-star experience. The breakfast, for example, was decent but didn’t stand out in any way—it lacked the variety or quality you might expect at a higher-end establishment. The SPA apartment on the top floor could definitely use an upgrade, and the way the hotel manages access to the pool, gym, and sauna without providing towels to guests is something that needs improvement. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and service-minded, and the cleaning was as expected. We got a good deal on our stay, so the value for money was acceptable. The location is a bit outside the city center and the historic old town, but public transportation is cheap and easily accessible, so this wasn’t an issue. All in all, I might consider staying here again—especially if I can get a good rate—but I hope the hotel addresses some of the details that currently fall short of 5-star expectations.
