Great hotel, out of the hassle & bustle but easily accessible by transport & use the bus to get in to the city. Staff couldn't do enough & allowed us a very early check-in (left bags in reception) so we could enjoy the whole day relaxing & taking in everything Bilbao had to offer. Last bus (A7) back to hotel left 22.20 which was late enough for us. Breakfast available for extra £'s but we didnt use this option. Room was clean & bed comfy. Bathroom also had everything you needed. Nice to be able to make a tea or coffee with a small cake provided. I found the AC a little noisy, so I opened the window at night. Chap on reception was fab who explained everything in perfect English. Thank you for having us, would definitely use again 😊

You should avoid this hotel as long as they don’t do a huge refresh on the rooms. We booked two nights in a standard double room. When we entered the room there was a very present and uncomfortable smell of cigarette. As if it was in the walls and the furnitures. We signaled this to the reception and the staff put an air sanitizer in our room. It did not have any effect as I woke up with nausea during the night, and my wife with severe headache. The smell was still very present. The only openable window was very small and had no effect on the smell. In the morning we asked to change rooms and the staff gave us another one on another level and on the other side of the building (as there was a building site on our previous side). This new room didn’t have a smell problem, but did not correspond to what we had booked. Instead of having a double bed, we had two simple beds. To keep it up with the problems, this room’s safe was not working, some light switches were broken, and the shower was also broken (which we noticed late in the night otherwise we would have asked for a room change again). Very unpleasant experience, and it does not deserve a 4 stars rating. This wasn’t a 4 stars experience at all. I do think the staff tried to accommodate us as they could. But the core issue is the hotel itself and they can’t do anything about it.
First night impressions...elderly clerk seems less than inviting. Wanted to charge ,90 for coffee pods for the room. Building in and out has an outdated charm, like an old lady wearing out her fine clothes from her youth. Hotel seems desolate and depressing with a hint of past charm.
Excellent central city hotel, as a result rather expensive. The young lady on reception was immensely helpful and our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. It was a great base for seeing the city.
Very clean, and very polite staff. Comfortable bed the size of a tennis court. However, the noise coming up from the street all night long was horrendous. Packs of happy (?) youths cheerily called to each other with tremendous energy until we got up for breakfast. Not the fault of the hotel, but maybe they have rooms at the back where the aural stimulation is much less.
