Seeing the dolphins was great in their natural habitat, however there were so many boats, that most probably scared them, so this does need to be looked at. The island we were supposed to visit was private my assumption was that we could snorkel off of it, but this was not the case, so slightly misleading however seeing all the fish in the sea was amazing. The beaches we were taken too were beautiful and well worth visiting, the only downside is the continuous hassle you get from beach vendors it does not stop!

Caveat Emptor! Although they use a sailing ship to sell you on this tour there is no sailing on this tour. Although they call it a Mnemba Island tour there is no going to Mnemba Island on this tour. you board an old fragile fiberglass dinghy to chase down dolphins, then use a rusty old ladder to get in and out of the water, A tetanus shot waiting to happen. You maybe get less than a minute of time in the water before the dolphins take off or the other 10 boats of people scare them off. its not worth the price. Especially when they misrepresent what actually happens. Feeding sea turtles at the aquarium was the only highlight.
Our family had such a lovely time exploring the islands around Zanzibar City. The beaches were beautiful, the water was clear, and everything felt calm and relaxing. We really enjoyed visiting Changuu Island and Nakupenda Sandbank. The kids had so much fun, and it was nice to see them learning while enjoying nature. The boat rides were smooth and well organized, so we felt safe the whole time. Overall, it was a simple, fun, and memorable trip for our family, and we would happily recommend it to others.
Best trip I’ve done in Zanzibar. Simba was a great driver and Amina was an incredible guide. She was very knowledgeable, very friendly and was always making sure I was having a good time and getting what I wanted out of the trip. I couldn’t recommend the pair of them enough. Pick up and drop off were exactly the times originally stated which was a pleasant surprise based on other trips too 10/10
Driver and guide were good. Snorkeling was difficult with crowded boats hovering over the reef. Bleached reef and not many fish. Maybe it would be different on another day. However Kendwa Beach was beautiful.
I gave them 3stars because because there is very good way of transport, drinks and fruits from this tour I really enjoyed
Experience owesome feel at Kendwa beach in Zanzibar. A lovely place to be with amazing touch of assorted activities. Super nice weather
We traveled from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar on the fast ferry for a full day tour. Our tour guide Omar and Driver Khalid was waiting at the port when we arrived. Although our day would be short because we would have to return by 4:00pm to catch the Ferry back to Dar es salaam, they were very accommodating. We loved seeing the sea turtles and swimming with dolphins. If we had more time we would have loved to stay more time at Kendwa beach. Omar and khalid taught us how to count and we enjoyed singing while we were in the car. If we come this way again we would definitely ask for Omar and Khalid because they are professional, kind and have a warm sprit. We highly recommend this tour if you have the time to stay 2 days overnight.
The snorkeling and Stone Town trips (including Spice Farm) on two days offered and carried out by Ali were excellently and reliably organized by Ali. The tours were slightly cheaper than the usual offerings (5 persons boat tour $ 120, Stone Town $ 90). Ali is a super nice and friendly guide. Highly recommended!! contact: +255 778 142 815
I really had a good time! This is a very authentic experience. For the boat ride, be sure to ask for a life jacket and or a dry bag if you want one. I also reccomend packing snacks like granola bars. They will get you fruit, but its nice to have a solid snack. The ocean is very powerful, and I am not an athlete. I ended up staying very close to the boat for snorkeling because I was afraid of being pushed away by the waves. If you are prone to motion sickness, I would reconsider doing this tour because the boat is an authentic Zanzibar vessel. Very cool, but it rocks a lot! We did see dolphins, and it was amazing! I also enjoyed going to the sea turtle cove and beach to get good pictures. I also asked my guide if we could stop for shopping in Stone Town and briefly visit the Freddie Mercury Museum. Did you know he was born in Zanzibar? The museum is very small and for avid lovers of rock and roll. I would not be concerned if Queen is not your favorite band. Stone Town has a great array of shopping at Darajani Market, so it's a wonderful way to end the trip and get a painting of the boats you were just on! Finally, my guide was Ibrahim, and he was great! I believe my driver's name was Omar too. I was very comfortable and had a great time with them as a solo female traveler! You should ask for them because they will make sure you have the best experience. I was so appreciative of the extra stop to the museum and market!
The company assigned us an untrained and unlicensed guide and driver who kept having to try to avoid police check points. My husband and I did not feel safe. To be fair, the guide and driver were very nice and tried very hard to make sure we had a good time. It was a bad experience.
From start to finish our trip was amazing!! Our taxi driver Simba was super friendly and made us feel super welcome from the moment we met. Our tour guide Ibraham was also amazing and told us everything we needed to know about our stops. They went above and beyond and made our day unforgettable as well as always making sure we were good. The boat trip at the start was amazing and seeing dolphins made it even better! We visited some amazing beaches and loved swimming with the turtles 100% recommended
BRILLIANT!! I got to see dolphins and snorkel and the tour was amazing. So informative and well planned. It was loads of fun, and the time we had with people was great!
We had so much fun dolphin watching, snorkeling, and relaxing on the beautiful beaches! The highlight for us was definitely the turtle aquarium! Amazing, once in a lifetime experience
Amazing experience exploring Zanzibar. The tour guide was very friendly and accommodating. We absolutely loved it!!
I wish I would have spent the day back at my hotel by the beach. The only reason I’m giving this review a 2 star is because of the lovely time we had with the turtles and beautiful pictures that were taken for us by the workers at the aquarium. Our tour guide was very basic, at times I thought she had no clue what she was doing. She turned up nice and early at our hotel but just sat at reception, didn’t notify anyone just sat there until I came looking for her. Long story short, don’t bother with the dolphin swimming. Such a waste of time. 30+ boats all chasing 1 dolphin. Tour guide had no clue and even tried to get us on the boat without fins until we kicked up a fuss. She said her captain only borrows fins from one supplier and he had run out. I had to force her to use another supplier. Once on the boat her instructions where ‘when I say jump you jump ok’ as soon as a dolphin was seen she would shout ‘JUMP, look down look down’ an absolute joke. The visits to the beach were even worse. We got the entrance of Nungwi beach and she said what do you think of the beach. We replied nice and she said ok let’s go. Then we went to Kenwa beach and same thing. Simply wasted our day to drive from the south of the island all the way to the north for this. If you want to do real snorkelling use Safari blue.
The tour is fine and the tour guide was friendly. The turtle zoo could be skipped, too many people and facility in bad condition.
This tour was truly a memorable one. It was really fun swimming with the family of dolphins, snorkeling with many colorful fish, feeding the sea turtles and then relaxing at all the beaches. This was a great tour and highly recommend!
The day excursion was great and filled with many things to do. I wish there was more explanation of what was going to take place initially. We were driven to the north side of the island and then were able to go to the destinations listed. In my mind we were going to take a boat from stone town to the north side of the island. But again, it was fun and we were able to see lots of different things. A variety of fruits were provided.
Amazing trip I've experienced in a long time. The pickup was easy and convenient. It was a pleasure seeing the dolphins swim in their habitat.
It was a great experienced to swim with dolphins. I could skipped Kendwa Beach. No briefings as to what to expect and how to go about the tour. You have to ask questions all the time. Tour guides are not knowledgeable however they are with you all the time.
Nice daytrip to see some of the most important spots of the Island including Mnemba-Island - special thanks to my guide Abas and our driver Said! :)
Great tour guides who looked after us well. They stopped to collect fruit on the way for us from a local stall. The driver and guide were always asking if we were happy and ok. The captain of the boat was skilful in the tricky wavy water as well as spotting dolphins for us to jump in and swim near. It was cloudy so the sunset wasn’t great but you can’t help the weather! We still had a great time!
The swim with dolphin experience was not really a swim. The captain of the boat (the boat which had no life vests or life preservers nor a paddle for any potential emergencies) followed other boats to track dolphins then suddenly shouted “jump!” When the dolphins were nearby. Then you jump in and can see if you are lucky dolphins 20 feet down. The snorkelling was not world class from what we saw but that may not be the case every day. We could see several pretty fish but the water was fairly cloudy, likely from the 25 snorkelling boats in the vicinity. The rest was great, though. Our guides were lovely!
The best part of the tour was the snorkeling however unfortunately it did not last long. We rushed to see the dolphins who did not show up which we completely understand, however it would be nice to go back to snorkeling for a little more time. Also, as a last step we have visited the Kendwa beach but surprisingly, the staff member came with us which was a bit strange. It would be better if they just dropped us off there and left alone.
Swimming with dolphins, fish and turtles was definitely a highlight of the trip. The guys were great. Just make sure to bring a phone waterproof case and motion sickness tablets as the boat can get rocky
Dolphin viewing was ultimate experience apart from the pristine kendwa beach. The guide hassan was excellent, patient and friendly. Really enjoyed each and every minute of trip.
I had a wonderful time.. swimming with the Dolphins and laying on the beach.I definitely recommend this excursion..
The Guide and his driver were very polite, friendly and funny! The places we‘ve visited were awesome! We can totaly recommend this Tour! May 2023
The guide no showed. A local called him on my behalf. He informed him he was on another part of the island and asked him to ask me if I could go tomorrow. I couldn’t because of a flight. He hung up with the guide and never personally contacted me to tell me a) he wasn’t coming or b) apologies for the mix up. I understand mistakes happen but the lack of communication was unprofessional.
Viewing of the dolphins was great, but everything else wasn't that great. Did the same activities with another local tour guide there which was a lot cheaper and a lot better. Recommend looking around for tour guides near hotel
The tour was decent. Our guide was very nice. The dolphin tour felt like a bit of a waste since you and 12 other boats are chasing 4 dolphins and would rather have just gotten to Mnemba Island. I did enjoy Kendwa, we didn't see Nungwi though. Realized that was a bit of a miss, but by the time you spend all the time of the water, and hit the beaches it's quite exhausting. All in all decent.
The activities are really wonderful, I highly recommend them! However with this trip I didn’t get a guide, I got a 20 year old kid who didn’t know my itinerary, and couldn’t tell me much regarding history, the fishes at the fish market we saw, the boats being built in Nungwi, even though this was part of what you see in the tour…. He was nice but didn’t give me any structure and communicated in a childish manner. I don’t think someone should call themself a guide if they don’t have the knowledge to actually be a guide and if you’re paying what you’re paying excluding lunch.
I took the bespoke private tour to Mnemba Island and it was amazing. My 4-year-old daughter did her very first snorkeing diving there
The guide Mohammed from Mango Zanzibar tours have been very easy going and helpful with all needs. Also the driver was very safe and considerate. In the beginning I felt a bit shy being all alone on the tour, but driver and guide made me feel safe and comfortable very quickly
Really enjoyable experience, packed with many things to make a really enjoyable full day tour. Snorkelling and swimming with turtles with this tour operator was fantastic!
1. Swimming with dolphins - I felt like the dolphins were just getting a kick out of watching all us all jumping to the water and then making the tourists climb back to the boats. They were as curious about people. I do not doubt their ability to move away if they felt uncomfortable about tourists surrounding them. 2. Swimming with Green Turtles- at the beginning intimidating but actually so cool. The turtles looked clean and healthy. The water was clear. There were few fish in the pool in as well. 3. Juma the founder of the Mango Tour company made sure that my wish to try Ugali for lunch was made true and we found the place where it was prepared for me. In Zanzibar rice is more common than Ugali in comparison with the mainland Tanzania. Lunch was at own expense but it was quite cheap. I had beef stew with Ugali and fried fish - the food was very good
Amzing. The guide, Juma was very kind, informative and very considerate. A true Gentleman. Would recommemt them any given day
Our experience on this excursion was terrible; the itinerary they put in the ad has nothing to do with what it's actually like. We were supposedly going to end up watching the sunset, and at 2:00 PM we were at the hotel. The guide didn't interact with us at all; he would drop us off at the sites and go to sleep in the car with the driver. The dolphins they took us to see and the turtles were pitiful. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL.
We hired NEWBLUE with a guy named NIK, who is Bulgarian but speaks Spanish; he organized an excursion to Mnemba for us to snorkel and swim with dolphins on the only day we were at the hotel. He initially made it sound very good, but the next day we met at 8 in the morning and no one showed up, and he did not show his face until 10:00. Two hours waiting without any response until he called us and told us that he had overslept. Day lost, considering what a trip of this level costs. "0" professionalism.
Day trip with a great team. Welcoming, explanation, humor, kindness, everything is there. Thank you to all the team for a great day. Go ahead with your eyes closed you won't be disappointed.
Superb experience!! We've seen the dolphins quickly, we're taking our time for snorkeling. Same with turtles. The guide was very good. I highly recommend
We went with 2 friends, and it was the birthday present I gave my friend. The taxi came to pick us up a little late but we were in no hurry, the guide and the driver were very nice, explained to us the history of Zanzibar and Tanzania. The order of the program was not followed but that was not a problem. We started by going to Mnemba to see the dolphins, an incredible experience even if a few tourist boats were also already there. My friend was seasick and we continued directly towards the sandbanks. Magnificent landscapes, white sand and clear water. The sky was gray but the place remains incredible! Few tourists were present at that time, we had the islands only to ourselves, we were able to enjoy a fruit platter prepared by our guide. We then went snorkeling, it was incredible, we had a great time there, it wasn't too short. Lots of boats and tourists present but you just have to move away a little if you are embarrassed. On the way back we went to the turtle aquarium, a very funny experience, an algae jump is provided at the entrance, my friend was pinched by a turtle who thought she was eating algae but nothing serious. The guide took several photos of us, very good memories. After that we went to eat then visit Nungwi, which is still pretty but not the best beach on the island in my opinion and my friend being ill we cut the visit short ourselves, we did not see Kendwa beach.
We were picked up from the hotel on time. Then we went on a boat trip. First we went to see the dolphins, then we went snorkeling. It was a wonderful experience with lots of different fish underwater! Then we visited the Nungwi Aquarium. Here you can splash around in a pool with sea turtles and feed them. A great experience! Both the guide and the driver were super nice! We can only recommend this trip!
No guided tour by the guide. Just a transfer with brief commentary. The process was basically left up to us and we were asked where we were going next. A small bottle of drinking water was handed out at the beginning (a drop in the ocean on a full-day trip). There was no snorkeling equipment (luckily we had our own with us). There was practically no visit to the fishing village, it was just a drop off on the beach with a few words (10 minutes of the planned 1 hour were taken away). There was no sunset on the beach, because we drove back at around 4 o'clock. The guide didn't even get out of the car when we were dropped off at the hotel (we gave a tip), only the driver. All in all, with a 30 minute delay when we were picked up, it was unfortunately not a very successful day :-(
Full day which only started at 9 a.m. due to storm and torrential rain Mnemba island impossible to do Quick passage on the beach due to bad weather Excursion spoiled by weather and no replacement visits Return to the hotel at 1:30 p.m. Short and expensive I made a complaint
We were told it was one of the most beautiful beaches. Nungwi was a disappointment for us, it feels like a seaside resort with many people and hotels (admittedly it is big but far from the postcard)
The locations were extremely good. However, our guide (unfortunately) let this set back. Standing next to us every time ‘pushing’ to keep going. Seen dolphins twice and we were already asked ‘you ready?’ Because of this we have only seen dolphins 20 meters below us while there were clearly many on the surface. They also got the question 3 times in a row ‘you enjoying?’ after which she dished a box of ‘tips’ in front of us. Moving on to the turtles. Very nice experience, however, she was already back next to us after 2 min asking if we were ready to continue. Next to the turtles is also a zoo, so we thought we would go there too. Continue to the tour at local market. The men who make the boats have explained this very well! Furthermore, this was just walking around a large stone with wax fish on. Finally we went to the beach, this was hugely beautiful!!!! Here they also had plenty of good food and drinks. However, our guide sat at the table without saying a word so we felt enormous pressure to ‘carry on’ and this was extremely uncomfortable. Offered her a drink but didn't even say thank you and she didn't even drink this. Conclusion: this can be a huge fun day, but we have just been ‘unlucky’ and experienced this differently. (The driver was very friendly and helpful though!)
A visita as praias.
