Stone Town Walking Tour In Zanzibar

What an amazing experience. Yassir was very knowledgable of the island and personalised our itinerary for the day. He is also very attentive and listened carefully to what we wanted to do and experience in Zanzibar. He is very friendly, patient and kind with excellent English! His driver Abraham was very welcoming, kind and funny! He is very knowledgable of the history of the island and was teaching us alongside some Swahili which came in very handy at times. He kindly bought us coconuts and red bananas to try without hesitation. Both men are very professional and punctual in running their business and I would definitely recommend to book with them. I would not hesitate myself to rebook an excursion with them when I’m to return to the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Asante to you both ! :)

Yessir and his team were very prompt, and delivered great customer service. They made sure me and my friend Tiara Enjoyed every part of the boat ride. Even when the speaker went dead, they went to lengths to get us a new one on the boat so we could have an enjoyable experience. Great team, would highly recommend 11/10

Yassir is very very friendly and welcoming. He met all our needs. He introduced us to another tour guide Abraham. Abraham was so friendly, fun and informative. He told us about the history of Zanzibar. He bought us coconuts and red bananas. Abraham was also very patient as we were out for the whole day from 9am to 6pm and not once did he complain. He was always smiling and laughing. When I come to Zanzibar, I'm definitely going back to this company!

Yassir is an excellent tour guide, he arranged and facilitated great experiences whilst in Zanzibar and even helped my wife and I visit a Safari in Tanzania. We swam with the turtles, visited many beaches, visited Stone Town and did deep sea fishing. If you want a great experience and value for money, Yassir will help achieve that!

Yessir is a wonderful young man. We had a great day seamless from start to finish. Went to Jozani forest where he guided us and was very informative. Went to the mangroves then an extra special visit to a conservation areas where we met a bush baby chameleon and then a butterfly enclosure. The guide there is very passionate about changing the views of the local people that the are not to be feared. We then went to paje beach for a late lunch. We were taken to the restaurant and picked up at the allocated time. We leant a lot about the country and its history and about Yassirs family and daily life. The driver was great and we felt really safe with them.

Yassir was amazing. He was great with communication. Perfectly on time. Very informative when being guided around Jozani forest mangrove and butterfly centre. We held a bush baby which was a lovely experience. We then went to paje beach for lunch. Our guide left us to have lunch for a few hours until we were ready. Great day felt safe and would recommend 100%.

Excellent experience in Stone Town! The Stone Town walking tour was excellent, and the guide Yassir made all the difference. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the local history and culture. His explanations were clear and interesting, making the experience even more enjoyable. Beyond visiting the city’s main historical sites, I also learned more about Zanzibar's culture and everyday life. It was a very pleasant, well-organized, and enriching tour. I highly recommend both the tour and the guide! It’s a great way to discover Stone Town. PS: I did the Stone Town walking tour and visited Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbank. In my opinion, it is worth dedicating an entire day exclusively to Stone Town, so you can explore the city at a more relaxed pace and make the most of its history, culture, and main attractions. Doing all three tours in one day can make the itinerary feel rushed.

Me and my cousins we went to Zanzibar to a 9 days trip to celebrate our 40th birthday. We were overwhelmed with Yassir's level of care ,attentiveness and hospitality. We made our trip super especial, particularly when on our 1st visit to sand bank he came with a beautiful and mouth watering delicious cake and a bottle of champagne. Ah,that blow us away! Excellent guided tour, knowledge and English was good

Our guide Yassir Salim was very knowledgeable about the history of stone town and zanzibar. We were in a time crunch so he squeezed as much information into us as he could. Did a wonderful job and would highly recommemd him.

Yassir is an extremely dedicated, patient, attentive, and always cheerful guide. He took care of our entire travel itinerary and supported us with everything else we needed, from purchasing an eSIM to choosing hotels and providing booking links. He guided us through Stone Town and Prison Island, where his deep historical knowledge and genuine love for his culture were truly evident. He also took us to Nakupenda, where we enjoyed one of the best seafood lunches of the trip. He showed us unique places, including spectacular caves in Zanzibar. He also handled all our transportation and transfers between Nungwi, Jambiani, Stone Town, and the airport in a very smooth and effortless way. The itinerary was personalized, always flexible and adapted to our preferences, allowing us to enjoy each place without any rush. We felt like we experienced the trip at our own pace, without the pressure of group tour schedules. On the top of that, he is a great photographer also, so we left with perfect memories at no extra cost lol. Yassir was an excellent host/tourguide. Came all the way from Nigeria 🇳🇬 to Zanzibar and Yassir and Raqib made my trip really worth it! I recently returned from an amazing trip to Zanzibar, and I must emphasise the amazing experience I had with my tour guide, Yasir Salum. Yasir made everything go well from day 1 to 7. He easily escorted us to the most stunning islands and had extensive knowledge of Zanzibar's history and culture( obviously we asked a lot of questions). In addition, he was incredibly patient and kind, never hurrying and always waiting for us even when we were late (which was always the case). His service was also very affordable and very much fair! He played our SA music with his driver and that made us feel at home the whole time we were in Zanzibar. He tried taking us to less crowded spots so that we could enjoy fully and experience Zanzibar as it is! I highly recommend Yasir if you're planning a trip to Zanzibar; he really made it a dream come true for my 3 friends and me!

I am very impressed with his knowledge skills & the way he takes time to make sure you’re all on the same page. Would definitely recommend him. The entire experience felt like stepping into a place where history and nature blend perfectly. Our guide was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the island. They brought the stories of the island to life, from its past as a place of detention to its present as a peaceful escape. Even better, the guide tailors the trip to you, so you can shorten or adjust the experience at any time, which made it feel very relaxe The views alone made the trip worthwhile. Crystal-clear waters surrounded the island, and every angle offered something postcard-worthy. It was one of those places where you find yourself constantly stopping just to take it all in. One of the most memorable parts was learning about Freddie Mercury and visiting areas connected to his early life nearby. It added a cultural and historical depth to the trip that I hadn’t expected. And of course, the giant tortoises were incredible. Seeing them up close was surreal—they’re gentle, slow-moving, and full of character. It’s clear they are well cared for, and interacting with them was both fun and educational. Overall, Prison Island exceeded expectations. Between the stunning scenery, fascinating history, and unique wildlife, it’s a must-visit. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and enriching expe

It was an amazing experience in Zanzibar. Not only did Yassir take us to Stone Town, I saw him everyday I was in Zanzibar. He was my island guide and driver. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide and human. I treated him like family and vice versa. He is extremely professional, trustworthy and nice. Whatever you want to do, he will make it happen. He even brought me a cake for my birthday! I would highly recommend him for all your Zanzibar needs.
