Embark on a rewarding nature escape with the Masingini Forest Hiking Tour, an educational journey through one of Zanzibar’s most important forest reserves. Located near Zanzibar Town, Masingini Nature Forest Reserve spans over 500 hectares and plays a vital role in water and soil conservation. Established in the 1950s, it remains a protected haven of biodiversity. Explore well-maintained trails accompanied by a knowledgeable guide while discovering over 170 plant species and wildlife such as Zanzibar red colobus monkeys, Sykes monkeys, velvet monkeys, and the elusive blue duiker. Routes vary from gentle walks to more energetic hikes, suiting different fitness levels. Along the way, learn about conservation efforts and environmental heritage while enjoying birdsong, fresh forest air, and meaningful connection with Zanzibar’s natural landscape.
