About Activity
The Uzi Island & Muyuni Village Tour is a full-day cultural immersion into Zanzibar’s remote and traditional communities. Travel across a coral rock causeway at low tide to reach Uzi Island, passing through mangrove forests while learning about their ecological importance. On the island, visit a local village and engage with residents to gain insight into daily life shaped by long-held customs and a close connection to land and sea. Continue to Muyuni Village, where cultural heritage is deeply preserved. Explore the mystical Ngonga Cave, known for its spiritual significance and traditional healing practices. The tour also features demonstrations of rope making, basket weaving, and makuti thatching, with an optional visit to a local school.
