Amazing experience for the first time driving quad. Fred was an excellent guide. The best pineapple we tried. To repeat.

When the tour agency asks what hotel for pick up & their response is…”Is that in Nungwi Beach?”, that should be the first sign to cancel the booking. I sent pics & Google map directions. While waiting for pickup, the driver called (was at the wrong hotel); 5 minutes later, he called again (at the wrong hotel again); I told him that I am standing in the middle of the street in front of the hotel….he claimed that he was in the right place. If the driver can’t find the hotel (in tiny Nungwi Beach) with Google map directions & 2 phone calls, then I don’t trust a tour anywhere. Do not book with this company.
Amazing experience with Freddy! We spent 4 hours on a quad bike and had the best time. He took us to incredible places with breathtaking views. I was absolutely amazed! Freddy was so friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the whole experience. Highly recommend him!
Enjoyable, but be prepared for a bumpy ride and getting dirty due to dirt roads. My ATV cutoff twice and I had to remind the guide to have vehicle maintenance regularly.
No one should go on this tour. I had to email the company to find out the meeting time. It was not listed anywhere on the tour description. I received no answer to three seperate emails. I was able to get in touch with the tour company via the concierge service at my hotel only to be told that the meeting point (also unlisted) is over an hour away from my hotel and since my hotel was so far from the meeting location they will not be picking me up from my hotel as indicated on their own tour description. Being an optimist I decided t take a taxi to them. Upon arrival I had to wait around for about 45 mins while they waited for the guide. I was then taken to 3 locations via quad. The first location was a construction site, the second a beach that looked like a Somalian pirate haunt, and finally a village so depressing that for the life of me I couldn’t understand why I was taken there. Without the joy of driving a quad this would been a soul crushing few hours. Learn from my mistake and book a different quad tour.
This was hands down my most favorite and memorable experience in all my travels around the globe! I seriously mean this. I booked this tour completely last-minute—only a few hours before being picked up at my hotel—without really knowing what to expect. It turned out to be the absolute highlight of my entire time in Zanzibar. A massive thank you to Deus and the entire PAYO team from your Dominican Republic brother, Junior! 🇩🇴 Tour Highlights— The Route: We rode through local villages, lush landscapes, and the stunning beaches of Nungwi & Kendwa Community. Connection: Getting off the beaten path to see real local village life was deeply moving and authentic. Deep Village Connection: The absolute pinnacle of the tour was riding deep into the local tribal villages. This wasn't just a drive-by; it was an authentic, raw, and beautiful cultural immersive experience. Wisdom of the Elders: We had the profound honor of meeting and connecting with the village elders. Sharing moments with them, feeling their warmth, and hearing their stories was an experience that words can barely capture. Pure Joy with the Children: The absolute best part of the day was spending time with the local children. Their smiles, laughter, and high-energy interactions were incredibly uplifting and left a lasting imprint on my heart. The Thrilling Ride: Navigating the dirt paths through the community, agricultural forestry, and cruising along the stunning beaches of Nungwi and Kendwa on the quad bikes was pure adrenaline. Seamless Organization: Even with a last-minute booking, the pickup and organization were completely flawless. The Legendary Guide: Meeting my guide, Deus, was like reconnecting with a long-lost brother. Incredible Energy: His warmth, energy, and genuine hospitality made the entire 4 hours unforgettable. True Professional: He looked out for me, shared local insights, took video and photos, and made the whole experience feel like family time. Tips: - Wear something comfortable as there is a bit of dust in some areas; Sunscreen or long sleeves. - Water is provided. - Bring enough charity money for when you reach the village, to have for buying snacks or rice for the kids — I would say $45usd total can get rice for everyone, if not there are a few available options under that. If you go to Zanzibar, do not hesitate—book this immediately!!!! I highly recommend!!!!!
Like the Dubai deserts activity but for this in extra ordinary in the streets of Zanzibar
I was culturally immersed from the start to the end of the tour and I will never forget this experience of seeing happy faces and smiles through their chants as they gave us a warm welcome. The entire team is amazing; I recommend them. Deus is an amazing tour guide.
I would totally recommend this experience!!! One of the best days of my liiiiife!!!
So much fun! Going to the village was a priceless experience! Still can’t believe we did that. Nungwi beach was absolutely breathtaking 🫢 10/10 recommend
Very well organized tour. The tour guide was amazing.
Friendly staff and very patient Instructors gave us time at the beach and took us pics, he offered a pine apple fruit
The whole experience was wonderful. The team very helpful and professional, shot out to Alex who made sure we enjoyed every seconds of it. I'd definitely recommend them
The quad experience was truly breathtaking. We drive around Zanzibar seeing the local area while driving on Quads. We even stopped at a local village where we got the opportunity to meet the locals and we were able to buy things for the village. This experience was truly unforgettable and seeing the kids so happy to see us was so cute. The tour manager Deus was so helpful and informed us of the plan and was very friendly and accommodating. We have done quad biking in many different counties but this experience is truly like no other. We recommend everyone to try the quad experience.
I did the 4-hour quad tour and it was an absolute highlight! I was alone with two guides, which made it very personal. We went to a beautiful, remote beach and later drove on bumpy roads and then a long nearly empty street where we could go really fast. I had so much fun! They also took lots of pictures and videos, which was super cool. Visiting the village was very impressive and eye-opening to see how people live here. Finally, we went to Kendwa Beach, enjoyed fruits at the fishermen's beach and had great conversations. I had such a great time, even alone, and the guides were so kind - especially thanks to Deus and also the younger guide (sorry I forgot the name). Definitely recommend this tour! :)
Wonderful experience. Enjoyed this more than I expected. The quad bikes were fun and easy to get used to, it was great traveling to the different areas. Loved the experience!!!!
Excellent tour. My family, with 4 teens, loved this tour and it was the highlight of the trip for my youngest. There was a slight hiccup with our reservation time, but Payo was able to sort it out with minimal disruption, and we were on our way! The quads appeared new, in great condition, and were very beefy. We rode on both paved and dirt roads. There were a few stops along the way with a tour of a village, beach stop with fruit snack, and a stop at a local beach point. Our guides were thoughtful and we had two so one could lead and one could keep an eye on us. Definitely recommend.
This quad ride was so much fun! On & off road with stops at a beach and a beautiful village filled with a ton of happy kids! Riding at sunset was great, too. Our guide, Godwin, was excellent, informative, and funny. Got so much more than the price I paid!
An unforgettable zanzibar adventure with Payo Quad! We had the most incredible 4 hour quad biking tour around Nungwi and Kendwa with Payo quad Zanzibar . From the moment we met our guide, we Felt safe and excited. They started with a clear safety briefing and a demonstration on how to operate the quad bikes - perfect for both beginners and experienced riders. Our guide was simply amazing very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We travel through local village, where we learned about the culture , schools, and daily life. This cultural insight was truly special . Highlights included riding along scenic coastal trails, through rocky terrain and past Baobab trees. We also enjoy fresh coconut drinks, and a stunning sunset at kendwa beach. All in all, it felt like a perfect mix of adventure and cultural immersion a true highlight of our zanzibar trip .the price was excellent for the experience, and we would absolutely do it again. Highly recommenced
Culture learning, quad biking, beautiful nature and friendly staff. I liked the fact, that we stopped at a local village, where we could ask them questions and they could ask us.
We had a wonderful experienced Professional tour guide, went to visit the village and visited nungwi beach.Everything went well
We had much fun on bikes, wow the bushy road mad it more fun.zanzibar is hot so it was raining and made even more fun,to be continued, astalavista. From South Africa
Bikes are in good condition with friendly tour guide. However, the package says 4 hours but there are a number of differently priced packages that all state 4 hours as duration. I went there expecting 4 hours but found out during the tour that the one I paid for was actually 2 hours, which was not stated prior or when booking. The packages should be named and priced accordingly to avoid misinforming clients. Each should have their own accurate “what to expect”. An example is: I asked about drone footage which is stated on package, but I was told is not available to solo clients which I only found out again during the tour.
Toppppppp very reality life inside the village . Very good people and the quad are like New. Not extensive i sujjest tò everyone
Really a natural and life of Zanzibar experience that we never will forget. Remember to take money with you to buy rice to the children in the village
