Mnemba Island Snorkeling Tour

We took a tour to see the dolphins and then some snorkeling. It was a bit disappointment with the dolphins. So many boats chasing the dolphins. If you plan on seeing them, get a guide that will take you very early in the morning. Get in and Get out before the masses of boats arrive.

They have well-developed hearing which is adapted for both air and water. It is so well developed that some can survive even if they are blind. Some species are well adapted for diving to great depths. They have a layer of fat, or blubber, under the skin to keep warm in the cold water.

This is a great trip but it's good for older kids because they stay on boat for snorkeling from 3_4 hours and you see Dolphins after that we go to the beach for yam yam and you can enjoy the beach and relax

Found Mr. Zanzibar on TripAdvisor and contacted him through WhatsApp. He was very responsive from day one. We did two tours with him. First day we did snorkeling and swimming with dolphins. He is very polite, fun loving and knowledgeable. He made our trip memorable. My teenage son had so fun on the trip. Highly recommend him for any activities in Zanzibar. Very trustworthy and reliable. Definitely coming back here.

Mr. Zanzibar was a great tour guide who despite of it being Ramadan when we arrived, he picked us up from the airport, dropped us to our hotel and then did tours with us on our last 3 day ( we stayed 5 days in total). Very respectful, attentive, and made us feel very safe and excited to know about Zanzibar. Thank you so much for such an incredible experience.

Starts at 8am from Nungwi. Then 35min boat ride to the island. Dolphins are highly disturbed on the way, as all the snorkelling boats (15 I counted) are circling them to allow careless tourists to bother the dolphins in their sleep. Please leave the dolphins alone! Then the Mnemba island itself has a gorgeous coral garden, with crystal clear waters. BEAUTIFUL. Warning : I recommend wearing water shoes on the island. Lots of corals and animals with thornes on the floor. Probably the best value for money excursion in Zanzibar. Should be about $15-20 per person. If more then the guy us just playing you.

This day trip to the Mnemba island was so amazing! I saw also a lot of dolphins and beautiful fishes. This was my best day so far here in Zanzibar. I highly recommend this tour!

My tour guide for the island arranged a private "fiberglass (that's more expensive)" boat for an AM snorkel. We were picked up at our hotel and then took the ~hour ride to the snorkel site. Some reviews have complained of the length of the ride, but it is determined by both hotel location (there's only one exit out of the coral reef) and tides, so low tide means slow ride. Our boat was missing a mask, but after a call and tossing banana to colleague, we had enough gear. The mask was old and leaked a little, but snorkeling fantastic. One can see the effects of wear and bleaching the coral, to include man made issues like those I saw of divers holding/standing on coral for a photo. Hints - go in the morning (1/2 day is plenty), prepare for long ride at low tide, make sure your guide/company has good gear, enjoy!

The tour consists of 2 parts. The first one, we'll take you to a reef where we snorkel. Let's be objective, it's not bad but not extraordinary either. The sea is rough, so difficult to stabilize, the reef is not very extensive so you have a fairly high concentration of boats and people. The fish you see there are also nothing out of the ordinary if you’ve ever been to other places in the Indian Ocean. However, the ride on the atoll is fantastic, it's breathtaking, and just for that, it's definitely worth it.

50cl of water for “the drinks included” and some fruit without any snacks as specified. No dolphin or anything except a few fish and corals almost non-existent. No possibility to pick us up from the hotel “depending on the tide”, a guide that simply explains that “there are fish” and a single spot saturated with boats where we are supposed to die of thirst for several hours. After 20 minutes we asked to leave the boat because there was nothing to do and offered to pay half the amount in compensation... it could have stopped there but the manager of the agency preferred to drive us to the police station to cripple us all our money. Fortunately, the police agreed with us and we had to give more money than expected to get our peace. Absolute fraud

This trip was amazing! A lot of animation very friendly staff! We snorkeled in a simply fantastic place , crystal clear water like never before ! Island of Memba really worth visiting crystal clear water and amazing white sand!

Nos recogieron bastante puntuales y el conductor/guía (Alí) fué un encanto. Aunque nuestro tour lo escogimos en español, él no lo hablaba muy bien, pero más o menos en inglés nos entendimos. Nos ofrecieron bebida y mucha fruta. El único punto malo que le veo al tour es que no dan ninguna explicación de como hacer servir el equipo de snorkel y ni medidas de seguirdad.

The kings of the feed. Certainly we see some beautiful fish, but surely because of kilos of bread crumbs left by dozens of boats on site 😕 Corals are also poorly developed. Nothing to do with the few photos seen on Tripadvisor The meal that follows is rather good (it is an "option"). In short, nothing to do with a snorkeling trip to Polynesia.

Cela fait des jours que j essaye d’annuler cette réservation j’avais réserver deux excursions à zanzibar sur viator. J ai eu la possibilité d’en annuler une et aucuns accès pour la deuxième et jusqu au bout viator à prélever excursion n’a jamais répondu à mes messages ou je demande l’annulation . Service clientèle lamentable. Et ils osent me demander mon avis sur excursions.

It's a wonderful place. The different shades of its waters make this place a must-see for anyone who comes to Zanzibar.

It really is a must if you are going to a resort on the island. There are a variety of different colored fish and you can also spot and swim with the dolphins that are in the area. A place I wouldn't mind repeating. We hired him on the same beach as Resort Riu Palace

The implementing organization on site has not received our booking. Thanks to the help of our lodge we were able to make the trip after an hour delay. The process went smoothly. The snorkeling material was a bit poor. The care of the guide we experienced very warmly and attentively.
