The welcome we recieved from the staff was warm. The chef ensured we were engaged during the cooking class. Viewing the Swahili house, playing the drums and singing gave us a chance to be immersed in the culture. The cave was an amazing experience. Highly recommend it.

A nice tour to interact with the locals. This wasn't in our plan but Babli added this as a discount after booking all our activities with him.The water is amazing and clean.we learned how to cook the local food after staying in Zanzibar for 12 days . We came during the day and we were only 8 tourists and enjoyed the natural pool by ourselves. Thanks to Babli for this amazing experience. The best friend and brother who made our zanzibar holiday a memory. Looking for an honest local guide his whatsaap +255 756 983 368
Arrived and had a swim in the cave.. We believe we been bit by some little creatures in the water though ..but cannot confirm . Water is crystal clear , you cant even see where the surface starts :) You can also buy a coconut or bottle of beer. It was not busy at all
I went for the $10 package where a guide takes you to the cave giving you a brief history. Then I was able to swim in the refreshing water - and was lucky to have it to myself (it is quite small so would not like to be part of a larger group). It is very rugged and slippery going down through the cave into the water and I was glad I was wearing beach shoes. The highlight of the trip however was joining the musicians back at the top and playing the drums with them - a great experience. All in all, a fun and interesting visit and well worth the price.
I organised my visit direct with Kuza Cave via website/email. They run regular activities and have a full programme, but this is limited in low/rainy season. I was picked up from my hotel and taken home again when my day was over so I had no need to worry about getting here. The guys were so helpful- it was a really interesting way to immerse myself in Swahili culture and get a feel for Zanzibar. It is also a good way to acclimatise yourself to the Zanzibar heat as there is plenty shade/cover and an opportunity to cool off. Firstly, I was shown around the traditional Swahili house, with an explanation of building techniques, functionality, everyday objects and the traditional Swahili way of life . We then visited a ritual cave which evidence suggest was used by people in prehistory. There is a small 'forest' area around the site (more like a garden) and there are some very interesting flowers here, many wonderful butterflies, and unusual bird song. Unfortunately the birds were too fast to capture on camera, but they added to the ambience. I took part in a cooking class, making traditional dishes: Swahili Pilau, Vegetable sauce and Spinach with Coconut, all using local spices. The centre were happy to accommodate my plant-based needs. While it cooked, it was time to explore Kuza Cave itself and take a dip in the cooling waters. The pool is much smaller than I expected but it was still a nice experience- it's always interesting to investigate stalactites and stalagmites, and the water was clear, cool and welcome. Returning to base, I was entertained by the staff as I ate the wonderful lunch we had cooked earlier- drumming sessions, a serenade, and once I'd eaten, a drumming workshop... I just about managed to keep up! It was really good fun to get involved. An enlivening experience. Over coffee, one of the guys invited me to play Bao, a traditional Swahili board game requiring much foresight and quick counting skills. I definitely failed on this score! Then I took part in a jewellery making session, stringing beads into a bracelet. Always good to add new skills to my repertoire! There were plenty opportunities to talk to centre staff about Zanzibar, Tanzania, culture, family life. A good day! The Kuza Cave Cultural Centre was hit by a serious fire earlier this year and this has had a big impact on them. Rebuilding will be costly so they will welcome your support.
We had an amazing experience in kuza cave with Babli.Truly magical water.an amazing hidden game.Babli organized a cooking class for us.This was the best experience and unique.you can book with babli ,very easy through whatsaap +255756983368.For cooking classes book earlier .
The caves are beautiful. The riads leading to the cave Centre are very bumpy. The bathroom facilities at the place are very basic.
The Cave and music experience was nice, but I was also looking forward to the cooking class which was not offered. I travelled 1 1/2 hours from Stone Town for this very short excursion. I would only recommend this if a cooking class was included in the future or if you were staying close by.
Liza cave and class cooking they are very good experience. It is a time to relax and learn a lot about the culture. I can you recommend this experience.
Swimming in the Cave was amazing. The cooking lesson was very inspiring & drum bear lessons were also quite cool
Our visit to Kuza Cave was nothing short of amazing! From the refreshing first swim in the crystal-clear cave waters to the rhythmic beats during the drum and band session, every moment was special. But the highlight was undoubtedly the cooking class with Master Chef Chillo and his sister. They taught us how to prepare a traditional Swahili meal, and we all learned so much. The food was absolutely delicious, and we had a great time cooking together. We ended the day relaxing to the music, fully embracing the "Hakuna Matata" spirit. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!
What a beautiful cave! I had a swim and it was a surreal experience. I then did a traditional swahilli cooking class. The boss did not make the chef aware I was coming or that I do not eat meat when I booked but the locals/ staff sorted everything out and were very accomdating and made it such a great experience. The chef was fantastic, very patient, and interactive throughout, and we cooked a fantastic vegetarian dish together. Then I decided to do a drumming lesson while I was there which was really fun too! I learned a lot and had a great day with such lovely people. I would definitely recommend it to all but it might be best booking it when you get there on the day rather than via trip advisor to avoid lack of communication with their boss.
Kuza cave is good where you refresh your heart because the place were hidden peoples scared to be sold out side now is nice to see and refresh your mind
Love setting but quite steep to get into caves once in 2 members of our group got stung by wasps whilst swimming. You can change out of your wet swimmers whoever no locks on doors so need someone outside to hold door closed.
Most beautiful caves we have seen. We however had to ask to be shoen the other attractions as the guide was attending to four groups. The tea garden was disappointing. But once again - the caves were stunning and swimming there was some experience. We did not partake in the vooking as my wife was not well
This tour was very fantastic,it was lovely to visit the kuza cave.Beautiful clear water and very clean.the water is quite cold.we were recommended by our guide Babli +255 756 983 368.this is most amazing short trip you can do in jambiani
We visited kuza very early to beat the crowd. The place looks amazing and unique . Amazing water to swim.the best activities not to miss in jambiani.
Good cave however plenty people are there swimming and can be quite congested entering and leaving the cave with people getting changed and walking up and down steps. Overall good experience and worth the visit
This tour was fantastic. My entire group had a blast. From learning the way of Swahili cooking and then eating the delicious food that we helped prepare, to learning how to play the drums and then cooling off in the underground oasis cave.
Ok so this exceeded my expectations! 1-Cooking class- watched and participated . Grinding the coconuts was fun. 2-Visit the cave- I've been in caves but I've never swam in one. This was beautiful & relaxing. Be aware you MUST be able to descend & climb, and duck. The stairs are not a regular stairway but descending slippery ragged stones. Some areas in the water is deep. So, if you can't swim be careful where to walk. I loved it. 3-The meal. I don't remember what we made/ate but its was very good and filling. 4-After the meal we were given drum and dance lessons, along with and sing-a-ling with the locals. Please tip
Quite rocky but beautiful experience to swim in the cool water. You’d need to watch out not to get cuts on your feet or slip on the slippery rocks but we enjoyed our time swimming in the cave and was a wonderful little adventure.
Crystal clear blue water caring and friendly locals.we really enjoyed our time in kuza cave.this is a must to see and swim
The tour started with a visit into the cave. The water was cool and refreshing since it was a super hot day. We then did a cooking lesson. Cooked a beautiful and tasteful plate of food. We then had a drumming lesson with the locals before sitting down to eat our lunch. It was a wonderful experience with the locals.
As a cave enthusiast, it was lovely to visit the Kuza cave. Unlike most caves, Kuza has beautiful waters that gives you the complete experience. At $10 per person, the entrance fee is reasonable and you get value for your money. One again, I thank Eric for recommending this place to us. WhatsApp him on +255756983368 to get his quality services.
Really amazing clear water in the cave and an explanation about the site froma nice guide! When we got back from swimming in the cave a whole band was playing the drums, we did a little dance. Cooking lesson was really nice and fun to do!
breathtaking cave, I recommend it; just be sure to have a copy or screen shot of your confirmed booking as I was asked for proof of booking although I had booked, paid and received ticket and booking confirmation but they did not have a system to look up my booking - thankfully one of the people remembered my name as a booked customer. Other than that hiccup, we enjoyed it. I rate the cave an A, the overall location, customer service, dining experience a B+
We really enjoyed swimming in the cold, fresh water in the cave. The cooking class was more about assisting the chef then actual cooking, we would enjoy it more if we were more involved. Nevertheless, the food was delicious. We were with kids 2-7, and they have good time too. One of the best attraction on the island.
The place was a must see.. we went for a day walk and we decided to swim here, it was unique experience. And i would highly recommend to others
great place to catch a cool swim and the money goes to a good cause, take a driver as the walk is dusty and long
We stepped in with fingers crossed and ended with a big WOW….must visit in Jambiani….. after all the excitement of sea water, it was so soothing to freshen up in the natural mineral waters …all fresh and crystal clear.
Worth every cent! The income from the caves support the local community and schools and that alone is reason enough to visit! The cooking class was interesting and we learnt alot. The cook and assistant were very friendly and pleasant. Jeff then took us down to the caves to swim - what a sight! It's like swimming in Valpré water! Water is cool and refreshing though if you stay still for too long you will get bitten by tiny water bugs. Last we did the drumming circle and this was another highlight of our trip! We thoroughly enjoyed making music with the friendly team!
The place is amazing and the water is extremely beautiful, the feeling is out of this world, its like magic,
While staying at a Villa in Jambiani we talk a leisurely walk to the Kuza Cave not really knowing what to expect, We went at around 4pm and walked passed the school the attraction financially supports before arriving at a set of simple huts. After paying the $10 donation we were lead through a path in the jungle and a (Very) small stone arch to emerge in an unreal sight. At first the cave seems dark an uninviting, but as you let your eyes adjust to the light it reveals itself like a scene from a fantasy movie. You would not at all be surprised if a dragon poked its head around the corner. As you make you down to the bottom of the cave, you get to the crystal clear water which will give you an amazing swimming experience. We stayed in the water for about 20-30 minutes in awe of every sight around us. We like it so much we went again a second time a few days later. I would recommend going when it is less crowded as you will have a better experience. Be sure to bring water shoes.
This was such a surreal place. Love at flirst sight I must say. The water is soo cool and can swim and take a lot of pictures. Should not miss being to this place.
Great place to go for a few hours. You can go into the caves and swim around, walk around. The water I beautiful and fresh. Great fun and you can relax have a drink and listen to music afterwards.
Visiting Kuza Cave is part of many tours. In the cave, accessible only with a local guide, from Zanzibar tradition one should emerge in the waters of the spring. "Swimming takes away all pain... too bad the protruding rocks that could cause new pain on knees and elbows. The water is fresh. Surprising that it is drinkable. Beautiful limestone formations from the ceiling and on the walls. Impressive and almost surreal atmosphere as you emerged into the waters. The local guide has provided us with a lot of useful information for customs, customs, traditions of the people of Zanzibar.
Fine and beautiful cooling in the cave. I'm glad we made this trip. With an hour you have enough to admire the cave.
The instructions to be inside are very bad for the cave and are very small, the place is not that you are too careful
It is a cultural centre. The payment is 10 dollars, you take a bath in the mineral water cave, you see a traditional house and, what I liked the most, was the live concert. Spectacular. Fully recommended.
Fast but very beautiful. A site that I think is essential. You have to see it to appreciate the beauty of the place. On leaving we had a drink and spoke with the locals there, a more than friendly exchange and a very good atmosphere to the sound of the djumbe and their voices! Thank you for this moment
An extraordinary setting, easy access, turquoise and extremely clear water with super pleasant temperatures 30o Visit to be planned for the end of the afternoon to avoid the crowds
A truly magical place that you will never forget to visit. The water is sweet and so clear that it is impossible to estimate the depth.
Pleasant coolness in the cave, through a small descent you can swim in the crystal clear water. Since there was no music group present at our time, we made music with the drums with the guide and sang the Jambo Song. Nice experience.
If you want to cool off, don't hesitate, it feels good to find some freshness in Zanzibar, watch out for the little animals that sting in the water anyway
Take a chaotic access trail by car (better have a 4x4) Then, once parked, access is very easy, 2 min walk. But we'll have to check out first: $10 / person and half rate for children. A little expensive paid for a simple swim Watch the descent. It’s a bit slippery but there’s a rope to tarnish. The water is translucent and beautifully blue. The water temperature is about 26 degrees. Swimming feels good!! Plan your water slippers is better. Avoid heavy crowds as the cave is quickly filled. We had a great time.
Nice for people who have never swum in a cave before. Be careful to descend from a natural yrap. This could be dangerous.
A place definitely worth seeing. Crystal clear, pleasantly tempered water in a beautiful stalactite grotto, you don't see this every day. Well maintained, although unfortunately the shower in the changing room had no water. A nice project, you can also drum or cook here.
We've been here twice. We had an afternoon in the cave: the water is fresh, a piece of sunshine that taps into the cave. We came back the next morning to do the cooking activity. You have to book 24 hours before. The staff is very friendly. Cooking class went well in a Good Mood. We were able to go back and swim in the cave at the end of the cooking class and before lunch. Lunch is of course included: these are the dishes we prepared in the morning. During our lunch another group was on the activity "traditional music". Very good atmosphere. I recommend!!! Possibility to go there by scooter or on foot depending on your place of accommodation.
I was lucky enough to be able to swim in this beautiful water. As I was told, you have to make a wish before you enter the water. You should also always move, because there would be tingling sensations, otherwise. There were only two other people in the water. It is better to go early in the morning. Then I had a cooking class with Fatima. It was really a great experience. Fatima is very kind and she explains the process of making the dish very well. This experience was very rewarding and of course I ate very well. The band was excellent. I highly recommend it.
The cave is beautiful and it is cool for anyone who wants to swim there. But the highlight was the dancers and musicians after the cave. The entrance fee of 10 USD is already very expensive... In addition, the dancers would also like their share.
