The combination of marine wildlife, forest exploration, and local nature makes this tour an interesting adventure. It also offers an opportunity to learn more about Zanzibar beyond its beautiful beaches. A lovely experience to consider for anyone interested in nature, wildlife, and exploring the island.
What we loved most about this experience was the variety of activities included in one full day. We had an exciting dolphin experience in Kizimkazi, visited the beautiful Salaam Cave, and then explored the natural surroundings of Jozani Forest. Seeing the Red Colobus monkeys in their natural environment was a wonderful experience. The guide was helpful and explained the different places and wildlife along the way. Everything felt well organized, and the combination of ocean activities and nature made this a very enjoyable Zanzibar adventure.

We had a wonderful full-day experience discovering some of Zanzibar’s most beautiful natural attractions. The dolphin tour was exciting, while Salaam Cave offered a completely different and peaceful experience. Jozani Forest was also a highlight, especially seeing the monkeys and learning about the surrounding environment. Everything was organized smoothly, and our guide was very kind and informative. It was a great combination of ocean, wildlife, nature, and adventure, making the day enjoyable from beginning to end.
This was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our Zanzibar trip. We started the day with the dolphin experience in Kizimkazi, which was exciting and beautifully organized. Visiting Salaam Cave was another memorable part of the day, especially seeing the turtles up close. Later, we explored Jozani Forest and enjoyed learning about the local wildlife and seeing the Red Colobus monkeys. Our guide was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable throughout the experience. The whole day was well planned and gave us the opportunity to experience several different sides of Zanzibar in one trip.
We started the day early to arrive by 7am with 2 guides who spoke ZERO English. Asking them how much farther only led to them staring at us. The term boat is lightly used here considering it was a dingy with hard wood seats. Absolutely zero snorkel equipment and the life vests didn’t close or zip. We were never offered a chance to swim with dolphins though we would have skipped the water was too bad. We were never offered any water at all throughout the day. The highlight was Salaam Cave with the turtles. Highly recommend that part. Again no water was offered after this part. We did pick up a 3rd guide who was taking to the monkey forest. We were done at this point knowing we had a 2 hour ride back to the resort and still had no water at all. We were over this tour by then. I’ve used Viator many times and this is the absolute worst experience we’ve ever had. Do not use Riser Tours for this excursion find someone else.
The Full-Day Zanzibar Dolphins, Turtle Salaam Cave, and Jozani Forest excursion was fantastic. It was a fantastic opportunity to see Zanzibar from a variety of angles in a single day. Seeing the turtles at Salaam Cave was a memorable aspect of the vacation, and the dolphin encounter was thrilling. Additionally, we had a great time exploring Jozani Forest and learning about the local fauna and ecosystem. Throughout the day, our guide made sure we understood what was going on and was kind and helpful. The tour was well-planned, and the mix of wildlife, environment, and ocean activities provided for a fun and interesting day. Couples, families, or friends who wish to experience more of Zanzibar outside of the beaches should definitely check it out.

From beginning to end, this day was amazing. Salaam Cave was a lovely addition to the trip, and seeing the dolphins was such an unforgettable experience. The red colobus monkeys in Jozani Forest were very fascinating. We appreciated the diversity of activities and thought that our day was well-planned. A fantastic option for couples who like to see different aspects of Zanzibar in a single day.
A fantastic full-day event that combines nature, animals, and adventure. Jozani Forest was a highlight for us, and we appreciated learning about the surrounding ecosystem. We had such a memorable day exploring Zanzibar. The early morning dolphin experience was exciting, and visiting Salaam Cave afterwards was something completely different. Jozani Forest was peaceful and we loved seeing the famous red colobus monkeys. The whole experience was varied, enjoyable and worth adding to a Zanzibar holiday.
We had a wonderful full-day experience visiting the dolphins, Salaam Cave, and Jozani Forest. The tour was well organized, and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the day. Every destination was enjoyable, and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Zanzibar.
The locations that we visited were pretty awesome. Would highly recommend - the little boat that we took to get close to dolphins, being able to swim with turtles and feed them, and seeing monkeys in the Jozani forest and walking amongst large mangrove trees was amazing. Admission fees were all paid for so nothing additional needed, which was very nice. At the turtle cave, there were some showers which was great (had to bring our own towels). The company contacted me via WhatsApp the day before to ask for an earlier pickup (6am) than listed. For the dolphins, they said. No problem, but the problem was that when we got to the boats everyone else had already gotten to the dolphins location - we should have left even earlier. The guide is the key reason for the review. King Mufasa (lol) was nice but did not really talk to us at all. He told us probably 5 things the entire trip and was speaking more to a French couple that he met than he did to us. That was very disappointing. One of us left our phone on the car and discovered it probably 20 minutes after we were dropped off, and we were able to get in touch with the company via WhatsApp right away and get it delivered back to us. They asked for 10k shillings which is understandable but I feel like it should be a complimentary service because that happens and the tour was for 4 of us at almost $100 USD each.
This was an awful experience for us. It was a tiny boat and it was raining heavily so I asked the boat driver to just take us back. The turtles were fine but I would not recommend the jozani forest. We saw more monkeys in the car park. The guide was mainly talking about trees and walking so fast through the forest that we got lost, then the guide told us off for not keeping up when we were trying to be careful of not falling over in the forest. We got no bottled water throughout the whole day. Personally I would like my money back. Worst trip I have ever been on.
We were supposed to go an all day excursion in Zanzibar to see dolphins, turtles and monkeys with Riser. This would have been the highlight of our trip. However the tour guide went to the wrong hotel and cancelled on us at 630am on the day of the excursion. My family was extremely disappointed as we wasted a full day during our family vacation. All Viator could do was offer us a refund of our fees. Going forward I think Viator should 1) vet the tour operators; 2) send confirmation reminders to both tour operators and clients; and 3) suggest alternative excursions / compensation packages in the event of a mistake…in order to ensure that these mistakes never spoil a family vacation again.
Very good and the guide is very good and friendly the tour is nice l can encourage others to join and enjoy the experience
