Great experience, very well organised. the only negative is that they cut the day short and moved our flight to few hoyrs earlier just because we have seen a lot on the first couple of hours, this is cheeky. I think if it is advertised as full day and paid for full day, that's how it should be. We finished at 12:30 instead of 4:30 had lunch and been taken to the airport. We were excited to carry on exploring after lunch and been told we will, but they changed last minute and took us to the airport

This was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life! Our driver, Solomon, and our guide, Wilson, were absolutely incredible. They were knowledgeable, attentive, considerate, and worked so hard to make sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and having a great time throughout the entire experience. We were fortunate enough to see 3 of the “Big 5,” and Solomon and Wilson went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible opportunities to see the animals up close and capture amazing photos. They were patient, observant, and clearly passionate about what they do. Their knowledge of the animals and the area made the experience even more special. I truly felt like we were in great hands from beginning to end. I’m so grateful for the memories, the incredible sights, and the beautiful photographs I was able to take home with me. I would absolutely recommend this experience—and especially Solomon and Wilson—to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari adventure!
It was amazing once you get to the tanzania side after the flight . The zanzibar side is kind of disorganized but, our guide named praygod was amazing very knowledgeable and in his word we will find the king today " the lion"
The experience in general was amazing. The safari reps were top tier can not fault them, shout out Julius and Liberiya. On return from zanzibar airport to our hotel we were made to drop off beach safari manager that took us 1hr out of our way. This meant in total from the airport back to our resort the transfer was 2hr. If we had known this we would have considered other options. Due to this thoughtlessness from management we had missed evening meal service at our resort and went to bed extremely tired and hungry.
Amazing experience, wish we had booked privately for the jeep also considered staying for 2 days. Loved the experience, has made me consider another safari in the very near future, which i will consider private experience/ stop over. All very organised, flight and experience, couldnt fault it ❤️ Highly recommend 🦒🐘🐆🐅🦓🦛🦏
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Everything was exactly as described. Early pickup. Flights on time. Guides were professional and courteous. They got you VERY close to all the animals. A must do
Our group had the most incredible time at the Selous Game Reserve! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized — the logistics were seamless, and every detail was thoughtfully planned. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five, which was absolutely breathtaking. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the wildlife and conservation, making the experience even more special. The scenery was stunning, the transportation accommodations comfortable, and the entire trip felt effortless thanks to how well everything was coordinated. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we couldn’t recommend Selous Game Reserve more highly. If you’re looking for an authentic, well-run safari adventure — this is it!
My partner and I booked this as an excursion during our Zanzibar holiday, communication from the point of booking - collection was good and the process clear. We were picked up at 4am by the driver with another couple already on board. We were driven to the airport (not the main international airport) and waited in a café area with many other people, there are lots of tables and chairs so seating was not a problem. After a short time we were taken to the check in of the airport, we checked in and went through security, this took around 10 mins, we then went into the waiting area for our flight to be called, there are seats, toilets and a small snack stall in this area. When our flight was called we were walked out to our plane, this was a small but comfortable plane, the journey took around 30mins and we landed in the airstrip of the national park (I saw 3 Giraffe before we even landed). Once we disembarked the plane there were many guides with lists of people, we found our driver (Charles or King Charles as we called him) and we met the other people in our group, there was 7 of us in total on the jeep. The Jeep was very very comfy which is exactly what you need when you are sitting for long periods of time. Charles was very informative, friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better group or driver! Driving around we got to see many many animals Such as Giraffe, Lions, Elephants, Hippo, Zebra, Hyena, Warthog, Buffalo, Kudu, Baboons, Smaller monkeys and different species of Birds. We were reminded that there is no guarantee to see these animals as they roam free, so I felt we were very lucky. There was only 1 part I felt uncomfortable with, spotting the rarer animals is a big thing and all the drivers keep in touch over radios so when the animal is spotted other cars can also go there, this part is fine and I think a great idea, however on 2 occasions (Lion & Elephant) we were off to the side out of the way of the animals but the other cars ended up almost circling the animal, you could see the lion for example looked worried and the elephant cowered when a vehicles engine started, the only thing I would ask the company to look at is this process, I think if the cars were lined up or stayed back until another car left this would be less stressful on those animals, however as I said above I do understand why they do this, as it is to get the best experience for those attending, but it made me feel uncomfortable. we stopped by the watering hole for some tea and coffee with little snacks and then continued with the ride. later on we had lunch in an area which has toilets, lunch was in an area with a roof but no sides and was very very tasty. unfortunately the heavens opened during this time but the quick thinking drivers moved their jeeps to block the rain around the sides. after lunch we continued the drive on the look out for different animals and then we were taken back to the airstrip for our flight home. Charles was a great guide and the day was truly memorable. the we arrived at the Airstrip at 7am and were taken back around 4pm. Well worth the money for such a great experience!
The organisers were slow to send tickets. It’s an early start, picked up around 4am, they sent tickets the night before at 11pm, leaving me worried if they were sending information or not, after 3 chases they had then sent. The safari itself was a lovely day! its very cold in the morning of the safari, in the second half from 12 onwards it gets very hot. The plane on the way there was completely fine as it’s cool, however, leaving the safari was unbearable as the plane had little AC, not well circulating.
This is a must ! It is a long day but the experience will be with me FOREVER! We saw many animals and the guide was great.
This trip was outstanding and our guide Mwngi was exceptional-a definite must as we saw so many animals!
Amazing day out at the safari! It was extremely well organised..everything went according to plan. They messaged us the day before confirming the pick up time and what to bring. Pick up was exactly at 4am. The flight to the national park was only 30mins, then we met our guide Mahmoud and his trainee. His knowledge of the area and animals was good. He found all the main animals (including lions) for us to see, and provided us with coffee/tea and snacks, and then later on a delicious lunch. We flew back around 4.30pm and were dropped off at our hotel around 7pm. Overall it was an amazing day and I highly recommend this tour company!
Our experience with Beach & Safari was absolutely beyond description from start to finish. Everything was perfectly organized — starting with the punctual pickup and warm welcome from the driver, all the way to the end of the trip. I want to sincerely thank the entire team; everyone was professional, respectful, and made the experience smooth and enjoyable. A special thanks to our driver Juma — truly one of the best drivers I’ve ever had. The journey with him was incredibly enjoyable, and he made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. As for the safari itself, it was amazing! We got to see the Big Four — an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-organized and memorable adventure!
It’s a long day but the rewards of seeing many animals out does the long day. Including lions and elephants.
A long day but it definitely worth the early rise. The sights you get see are brilliant. The animals that you get to see in their natural environment will leave you stunned as you gat so close to the animals.
Don't overthink it book it! We were staying in Kizimkazi Zanzibar and were unsure whether to go to Selous (now known as Nyerere National Park) or not on a 1 day Safari, mostly because of the associated cost. Oh my gosh I'm so glad we decided to push the boat out. One of the best days of our lives. Beach & Safari Aviation were Outstanding! Communication was safe and timely. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company and the trip! We saw lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, water hogs, impala, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, loads of birds, elephants and more. Be prepared for a 'Safari massage' it's bumpy out there. We were picked up from our hotel (The Residence) and taken to the airport and dropped back after. Just a note to the company... On the way back we shared a drop off. After a long exhausting day it would have been beneficial for the customer experience to have separate drop offs. The day is a full one. Around 4am to 7pm. Wouldn't change it for the world, was an unforgettable, unmatched experience :)
Everything was right on time and our guide was very good at communication with his co-workers to find the animals. Lunch was also great!
I don’t have the nouns or verbs to describe this amazing experience. Just DO IT! Our guide Nwyni made sure we had the safari adventure we dreamed of. Seeing so many beautiful animals in their natural habitat was breathtaking.
Amazing experience with fantastic guides Denis and Benson to learn about and see: - lion - elephant - giraffe - zebra - leopard - warthog - hyena Flights were good and punctual
Our experience is that the tour was a little bit too long. But we saw a lot of animals also three lions resting under a tree.
Everything ran perfectly on time, everything taken care of in one booking was so easy, no hidden costs like a lot of other tours, our guide Chas did a great job, careful driving through the park, made sure we saw everything possible, the team worked hard to find a lion which made our day. Lunch out in the open park was great,
We all agreed this was the best day of our holiday. We didn’t know what to expect because it was only a day safari, but right from the start we saw giraffes, zebras, monkeys, elephants, hippos, impala and even a pair of lions. We were in an open sided jeep that sat six people so we all had a good view and our driver was brilliant at positioning the jeep so we could see the animals and Fabien, our guide, was lovely and very knowledgeable. To be honest it would have been a lovely day just looking at the scenery even if we hadn’t seen so many animals.
Thank you for the experience. However I need to mention the flight going and coming. There was no AC on the flight which is very dangerous. People can suffer a heat stroke if this is not addressed. That was totally unacceptable.
I can highly recommend this Selous Safari and the Beach & Safari Holidays company for the following reasons: 1) There was actually a problem with the included transportation, and I ended up arriving late to the airport for departure. However, the true nature of an individual or company shows during a challenge, and I can say that Agent Jonathan and the Beach and Safari company proved to be people of their word and were willing to do all that was needed to make sure that I did not miss the safari with minimal effect on the other attendees. Excellent and professional overall customer service; 2) The safari at the Selous National Park was outstanding. I ended up in a group of a total of six people, and Mahmoud was our guide. Mahmoud was smart, attentive, and funny. He informed us with information about the animals we saw, and he and the other guides did all they could to make sure we saw many animals as possible, including that we got to see the "big five" animals in the Park. Mahmoud prepared and provided us with a lovely coffee/breakfast break which was helpful as you have to leave early in the morning, and then a lovely lunch, all meals in a lovely picnic presentation. Then when we flew back to Zanzibar, our agent was there with information and arrangements made for transportation back to our hotels; and 3) If you have limited time in Zanzibar and are debating on whether doing a safari is feasible, this is the perfect solution. The flight to the reserve is approximately 30 minutes each way, and while you leave early in the morning, you return at a reasonable hour, so you will have plenty of time to relax and reflect on a great day before finishing your day. The day is enjoyable. Just be prepared to enjoy the ride, be patient and appreciate the beautiful scenery and animals, and enjoy the time with your fellow travelers. Highly recommend.
G4 and Herman were very friendly and knowledgeable they made the experience very enjoyable. I would recommend this wonderful experience to family and friends. We saw 4 of the big 5 (only 4 at this safari). This experience we will be talking about for years to come. We were satisfied from being to end. The safari was worth it! Enjoyed the company of others couples. The lunch was a pleasant surprise. A most see no complaints!
Had so much fun with my guides who showed me various animals. Not all are guaranteed to spot but they did a great job looking and driving close so we can take pictures. They also explained a lot about the animals. The flight was short and safe. Everything went well.
Unforgettable day in Tanzania. I saw 10 lions, and all the mains animals to seen. I had du stand up at 4am was good. More or less 10 hours in the park. Great.
Shija was very informative & excellent guide the trip was excellent from start to finish ,we seen lions elephants giraffes etc
My family and I would like to thank our guide, Frank, for an unforgettable adventure during our safari in Tanzania. He was a true professional – incredibly kind, energetic, and trustworthy. His impressive knowledge of the local fauna and flora made every moment of our trip fascinating. Frank shared interesting facts about the animals and nature with passion, while also maintaining a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We’ve had the chance to go on safaris in various places around the world, but we’ve never met a guide as amazing as Frank during our Tanzanian adventure. What made this trip even more special was the fact that Frank took us to places away from other tourists, allowing us to fully enjoy the beauty of nature in its purest form. He made sure we saw all the animals that can be found in the Nyerere Reserve, and he truly went above and beyond to make our safari unforgettable. His professionalism, personalized approach, and dedication made this one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. We highly recommend Frank to anyone looking for an exceptional safari experience! I couldn't forget to mention also our great driver, Ally, with whom we felt incredible safe during the entire Safari.
Our Driver Blacky made sure we saw all the animals in the park! We had so much fun. The lunch was really good and flavorful. Pictures came out amazing!!!
Created a lifetime memory we'll never forget! The service was amazing. Seamless transfers to and from airport as well.
The day started with a pick up time from our hotel at 4am. We got taken straight to the air port. Our driver was on time and all communication prior to the trip was fantastic. The flight is 30 minutes and you will land at the game reserve and met by your safari guid and driver for the day. Our guide Barrack was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. The driver was great. The safari was great and we got to see lots of animals including elephants. You won't see lions during the rainy season and the best time to see them will be in in June and July. The lunch was lovely. We had chicken, rice and beans. We also stopped off at 10am overlooking hippos whilst drinking coffee. It's a long day but 100% worth it.
Decided to book this day trip whilst in Zanzibar. It was a quick easy booking process, with all our questions being answered before we left. The hotel made sure that we received our tickets as well as our transfer to the airport. It was an early start but SO worth it. We saw so many animals -crocs, warthog, elephant, hippo, giraffe, lions and tons of buck and bird. The lunch in the bush was absolutely delicious – we were expecting a snack box but it’s a proper meal served up in the bush. We flew back to Zanzibar in the afternoon and our transfer was waiting to meet us. Very well organised and so worth it.
We were a Group of 6 people from Sweden and took this 1-day Safari to Selous/Nyerere from Zanzibar. This tour had the best price and was professionally organized. It was our first Safari experience so we had a lot of questions before we went on the tour. All questions were answered easily via WhatsApp (Reheme, working for the company, very friendly and professional help with all the questions we had)we got correct information and a lot of tips what to think about and expect prior the tour Everything went smooth and we felt safe and all details were taken care of, we did not have to care about anything, just enjoyed the amazing experience. 1. Pickup by taxi in the morning at 4AM, on time, transfer to airport 2. The taxi driver follows you to the airport meeting the group, where people from the company wait for you and guide you to right gate for the flight to Mtemere/Selous airstrip 3. Flight to Safari (Selous) approx 30 minutes 4. At landing you are met by people from the company (your Safari tour guide for the day) with your name and follow you to the right Safari car (private, only your group in the car) 5 Around 7AM starts the Safari (free cold bottled water in the cars, we received even cold beers in our car) 6 Our driver, Chars and the other crew member were very friendly and polite. Really nice people working hard to give you the best possible experience, driving all over the place to see as many animals as possible. They managed to spot a lot of animals for us: Elephants, Lions, Hyppos, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Gnus, Baboons, Crocodiles, Impalas, a lot of different exotic birds and many more. 7 Coffee/Tea break around 10 AM with delicious bagels (something like a bagel) after that the Safari continues, lunch around 1 PM and more Safari, then back to the airport/airstrip around 4:30-5:30 PM for the flight back to Zanzibar (30 minutes flight) 8At the airport in Zanzibar the taxi driver waits for you and drops you at your hotel. Everything is taken care of, we had only to lean back and enjoy the ride. Fantastic experience! Truly amazing!! Wow!!! Please note that this people are working very hard to give you the best possible experience, but they can not guarantee that you can spot every animal you have on your list, it depends on a lot of factors what you can see during your trip. Mother Nature has her own rules and every Safari experience is different. Every Safari tour is unique. The trip was a Once-In-A-Lifetime experience for us, and the crew did its best and even more than that to satisfy us. They succeeded with their mission to 110% Highly recommend this Safari trip with this Company! I would not hesitate to book it again if back in Tanzania!
This was my first Safari and it was Everything I imagined it to be. My guide Mathis was the Best. He was professional, knowledgeable and the Best Dan driver I ever seen. It was a very rainy day and it did not shy away from driving us through every inch water, mud, impossible roads to make sure we could witness the Big 5 and find every animal there was to see. The lunch picnic in the bush was extremely good I thought maybe a bag lunch it was a hot meal prepared by an excellent cook on a picnic table with fruit and plates. Thank you Mathis.
Selous was really the right decision. 25 jeeps all going in a different direction to explore the park. Give mass then. From beginning to end, it is really well organized. On the day itself, we were really lucky, we were able to see almost all the animals up close. While some people on a second trip haven't even seen a lion. So we could really speak of luck because at our place they literally colored along the jeep (I could touch them if I wanted to). The one we haven't spotted is the leopard. Unique beautiful experience!
Kenit as a guide, he knows so much! All the effort to spot as many animals as possible the first day and fulfill the second game drive day wishes. The stay also top! Everyone so friendly and helpful. Very good food!
The experience is long, but very fun, it is worth it for those who have little time, because you feel the spirit of a Safari. We like it a lot.
Beautiful we had the chance to see practically all the animals of the reserve with an excellent guide pity he spoke in English and I had asked for a French
