The hotel and pools and rooms are beautiful and very clean and the wifi works throughout the hotel even at the beach. The a la carte dinner and buffet were perfection 10/10, especially chicken and sushi and pain au chocolate (really fresh) were good. Make sure to make a reservation. The dinner starts at 7 pm always which was good. The cocktail list is extensive and there are different drinks at different bars. Drinks 7.5/10. The staff was very friendly. There are no restaurants or bars nearby which is ok since it is an All inclusive. We enjoyed the complimentary yoga at 10 am and aqua aerobics at 11.15. We were hoping there would be some live music everyday and wine at the mini bar but that wasn't available. The excursions and spa are a bit pricey. Overall we had a good stay.

The security staff’s behavior was quite inappropriate. He repeatedly involved himself in matters that were none of his business, even after I asked him several times to stop. It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. When the person responsible for ensuring guests’ safety behaves this way, it doesn’t inspire much confidence or make you feel secure. I didn’t book a room—I only spent the day at this hotel, and after this experience, I will never come back.
We had a very good vacation until check-out. Check your bill carefully—you will be surprised. We discovered charges for services we didn't use, such as laundry and spa treatments. It’s a shame; such a silly mistake is exactly what leads people to write negative reviews. Bad wifi.
Humiliated and discriminated against – do not waste your time I visited Neptunes Zanzibar with my husband to explore the hotel , have dinner, and smoke shisha. The security guard at the gate allowed us in without issue. However, when we reached reception and mentioned we were also interested in shisha, the receptionist laughed and had another man escort us toward the bar area. A few minutes later, a security guard came running after us, shouting that we had to leave because his boss said they were "closed." Confused, we told him we just wanted to look around, and he reluctantly said okay. But as we got closer to the bar and restaurant, we saw everything was clearly open and running—other guests were being served. That’s when more staff rushed toward us. One was on the phone, and then his boss, Mr. Singh, insisted we could not stay. We were humiliated, followed, and treated like criminals for no reason. It was obvious from the moment we walked in that we were not welcome—the receptionist knew exactly what was going to happen. What makes this even worse is that we are staying at The Lux Marijani next door, and we are so relieved we didn’t book here. The online photos are incredibly misleading—the property looks far less impressive in person. If you want to be treated with basic dignity and respect, avoid this place completely. They do not deserve your money or your time.
We spent 14 days at Pwani Neptune. The team at Neptune is extremely friendly and welcomes you with the Hakuna Matata vibe. Rooms are nice and always taken care of, so after a day at the beach or pool you can relax on the porch with some drinks. The beach is very nice but looking at a tide chart in advance makes total sense. Food was always great at whatever restaurant served. We were never disappointed. Cocktails at the Sansibar “Bar” were on point - and were adjusted to our satisfaction. So we are leaving Sansibar with a smile and will be taking back many wonderful memories! Special thanks to Magiano and Hassan (animation team), Allen and Zainab (service) and that wonderful Lady serving us at the Samaki place !!! Asante sans and Hakuna Matata 😘
