Hotel Riu Jambo

We had such a wonderful stay at Riu Jambo! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and really made us feel at home. The food was amazing, with plenty of variety and something to look forward to at every meal. The beautiful beach and relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. Thank you to the team for making our holiday so special!

We are nearly finished with our 10 day stay at Hotel RIU Jambo. This was a delayed honeymoon for us and what a treat it was. From the moment we arrived, the team attentiveness was second to none and every single member of the RIU team have contributed into making this a truly wonderful trip. Tula, Sharif, Janeth, Hawa, Salvatore, Emmanuel are always around to have quick chats and ask how your day is going and their smiles in the morning really help start your day the right way. The food was standout. Platters of fresh fruit every morning freshly replenished and plenty of hot choices. We ate in all 3 of the bookabke restaurants and the Italian was our standout fave. The Kulinarium was a bit average and prob the worst meal/service we had there but that is because everywhere else was so good. Food was poor and the service pretty shoddy. Wrong drinks and food brought out and just not up to the standard they hold themselves to. Yunnam - Asian fusion was stunning. Freshly made sushi and noodles etc was simply great. The RIU party was unbelievable with so much effort going into it. This is our first time staying at a RIU resort and it’s firm to say that they have raving fans in us and we’re already looking at booking our next RIU holiday Thanks for making our holiday great

Our stay at Riu Jambo was absolutely perfect. Everything went really smoothly from the moment we arrived, and we were warmly welcomed by Sabetha. The hotel is clean and well maintained, the rooms are spacious, and the facilities are great. We really enjoyed having several swimming pools as well as direct access to the beach. The different restaurants and snack options were also very good, with plenty of choice. We appreciated that the food changed throughout the day, with a good variety of options. All the staff were incredibly friendly, always smiling, respectful and attentive. A special mention to William for his kindness, his smile and his professionalism. His presence really made a difference during our stay. He was always making sure we were comfortable and was genuinely attentive to all customers needs, which was a real plus. We would also like to mention Schora, Simon, Janeth, and the manager of Kulinarium restaurant for their kindness and great service. We truly relaxed, enjoyed every moment and made the most of our stay in this little piece of paradise. We would definitely come back!

After my stay at the RIU Jambo hotel, I can say I am disappointed, especially for a 4‑star hotel. The biggest issue for me was hygiene — I found cockroaches on multiple occasions, in my room and once even on the dining table in the restaurant. From that point on, I wasn’t very comfortable with my stay there. The food was okay, nothing spectacular, but there was something for everyone. There weren’t many desserts to choose from, but the savory dishes were fine. If you are looking for a good sleep in the morning, don’t count on it here. The cleaning lady would wake me up every morning at 7:00–7:30, sometimes even earlier. I complained at the reception, but nothing changed. It wasn’t all bad. The highlight was the beach — the sea was crystal clear. The restaurants and the bar by the sea were very nice and made for pleasant evening activities if you didn’t want to watch the shows and just wanted to relax. The bars were ok and the variety of drinks was also ok. The staff at the hotel were super nice and very friendly, but unfortunately, if I come to Zanzibar again, I will definitely be avoiding the RIU Jambo hotel.
