Fundu Lagoon, you are amazing. What an experience of a lifetime, you really have to go there to know this. The photographs do not do this beautiful bohemian paradise justice,theres no where else like this place. We had the absolute pleasure of spending some time with Ellis (the founder)along with Marty, Rusty, Kessi and all of the wonderful staff. The ethics and support that Ellis and fundu lagoon give to the local villages makes this place all the more special,nothing is too much trouble for any of them,we had a trip to masai island and snorkelling,visited the village and spice farm...but enjoyed the most just listening to the birds,wildlife and the sound of the sea from our incredible beach view room,so tranquil and relaxing .The food was truly amazing too,and can be cooked exactly to your taste nothings too much trouble ,what wonderful people,and place we really do hope to return again soon Just loved it, Amazing !!! We stumbled onto Fundu Lagoon by complete chance and I am in absolute admiration of the quality, its philosophy and the beauty these guys have created there! It really is one of those places where thought has gone into every detail. If you are looking for barefoot luxury in the jungle I cant recommend this place enough - its absolutely beautiful!

The lodge is beautifully located in a secluded, natural setting, surrounded by lush greenery and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The sense of tranquility, privacy, and untouched nature makes this place truly special. What truly sets Fundu Lagoon apart, however, are the people. The entire team is incredibly friendly, motivated, warm-hearted, and genuinely service-oriented. From the very first moment, you feel welcomed and cared for, and it is obvious that everyone works here with passion, pride, and strong team spirit. Special thanks to the amazing team: • Marchella (Manager): Outstanding overall organization and excellent team leadership. She always goes the extra mile to accommodate guests and their individual wishes, creating a very personal and welcoming atmosphere. • Hassan (Head Chef): Quite simply, the best food in Tanzania. Together with his kitchen team, he delivers exceptional dishes every single day. • Genia (Bartender): Makes the best cocktails, perfectly mixed and always served with a smile. • Kassin (Receptionist): Greets everyone daily with a warm smile, extremely kind, helpful, and very well organized. • Buanga (Waiter): Excellent service, always friendly, attentive, and professional. • Salom (Bartender): Very service-oriented, kind, and always in a great mood. • Elias (Security): A pleasure to talk to, always positive, and at the same time provides a strong sense of safety and security. • Khalad & Asha (Breakfast Service): Prepare the best eggs and freshest fruit juices, making every breakfast a highlight. • Bacari (Dive Instructor): Excellent diving skills and a deep commitment to reef conservation. Guests should definitely consider setting aside an extra budget to support reef protection, which is clearly in very good hands here. Ask for the Octopus „Mr. Benjamin“ when you are there • Imu (Waiter, Apprentice): Already doing a fantastic job and will certainly become an excellent waiter in the future. • Dudu (Waiter): Always smiling, very friendly, and highly service-oriented. • Kibega (Boat Captain): Drives the boat very carefully and safely, always attentive and professional. • Amdi (Dive Master): Wonderful to snorkel with, has an incredible eye for marine life, spotting many small fish and even dolphins. • Kessy (Assistant Manager): Provided a very warm and genuine welcome at the beginning of our stay, setting the tone for a perfect experience. Conclusion: Fundu Lagoon is a truly special place – not only because of its breathtaking location, but above all because of the incredible people who bring it to life. We felt welcomed, valued, and exceptionally well taken care of at all times. A huge thank you to the entire team.
