Can not recommend enough for everyone who want peace, relaxation and calm.
Even if its not the best place to swim regarding beach due to low and high tides but you can discover many starfish if you walk 1-2 km ahead in the mornings on low tide. Aswell walks along coast both ways are amazing with palm alleys and mangroove trees.
Less tourist so no sellers aswell what makes experience unique and refreshing.
Everything is being improved which will make even better experience for its guest.

Took my first solo trip and booked my accommodation at Amber Lodge. Stayed here for 10 days. I came mid-June right before peak season, and l had the whole place to myself.
If you stay here for more than a few days, rent a car to get around the island. Pongwe is a little bit slower paced than the rest of the island, and the beach out front of the property is rocky. Kiwengwa beach is 10 minutes driving and has pristine beaches and more touristy.

Nice, tiny and quiet hotel at. pongwe Beach. Staff very kind and rooms perfect. Everything clean and new. We enjoyed 2 days of absolute peace. Good bar and restaurant
The hotel location was perfect. Hotel staffs were friendly and nice too. They even recommend a local restaurant where the prices are reasonable and big portion. Thumbs up :) the room was valued for money and perfect. Thanks for making our trip so memorable with the good service provided.
