Hussien our driver and guide was excellent. He knew where to go from the wild North African Ostriches, Ibex, fossil hunting, oasis stop, camels grazing and vendor stops for unique food and privisions Our solo dawn camel ride and hike into the sand dunes other worldly. Facility could use a refresh but quality to price was reasonable.

The experience has been amazing. We have been really pampered throughout the two days. While we had to leave tips to many people they all deserved it as they were very insightful, knowledgable and friendly. We were 6 people and because we came in the “off season” we were the only ones. This made the atmosphere even more family like. We enjoyed both traditional music and the quiet of the desert. The food was abundant and tasty and all were very available to help us with everything and anything. The cherry on the cake was sleeping under the stars after seeing the sunset on the camel.
We had an absolutely wonderful time with Raschid and his team. From the moment we arrived at the meeting point (which is also very nice) we felt welcome and taken care of. We were looking for an unforgettable experience deep in the Sahara and this is exactly what we got. The camp is very remote, so that when you walk out of it you are directly in the sloping dunes of erg chigaga and at night the lack of light pollution allows for incredible stargazing. We ended up staying up all night watching the sky and still woke up for the sunset at 6. The facilities at the camp were clean and well maintained, and the staff was world class. We leave with nothing but gratitude for our hosts and would happily recommend this to anyone looking for a desert getaway.
We booked our trip one day before and the team made sure everything is organized in time for us to have a comfortable experience in the desert. The camp is located right next to some big dunes and the views are incredible both during the day and night. The activities were also very well chosen, with a camel ride at sunset and live music after dinner. The hospitality was incredible. Felt very safe and we learned a lot about the culture as well. Overall, it was an amazing and unique experience.
This was an incredible experience. We were immediately greeted with a Moroccan tea before we set off for the journey. We stopped by a traditional pottery town and then continued into the desert. Everything was done in an extremely professional manner. The staff took us in like family. At the end of the night, they played traditional music and taught us how to play the instruments. We even shared a jam sesh. The camel ride was stunning, and the stargazing was spectacular. We fell asleep outside of the tents stargazing. Will definitely come back.
Fantastic tour. Zaid and Ishmael were extremely friendly and helpful. The drive from Zagora was great and the camp site was beautiful. Really good food and camel ride
Amazing experience. Organising was easy with the staff, did everything as promised. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. Overall highly recommend!! Had a pleasant visit and enjoyed the time here!
Highly recommend! Super nice place to stay for few days. The rooms are clean and with beautiful design! Very very friendly and kind staff. Delicious food!! They will take care of you!! You can’t miss this place!!
I am very very happy with this experiences, the staff was very helpful and eveything was organised perfectly. Thank you
Great experience, and well managed by our guide. He drove very well in the desert. Before getting there, we visited the traditional ceramic artisanal centre. We arrived at the camp just in time to do the camel ride (about 30 minutes) at sunset. Dinner and breakfast were very good. After dinner, the people at the bivouac played traditional music in front of a fire and under the stars - an incredible experience! The tents are very spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended and good value for money.
Outstanding trip with exception driver, stay, food and live authentic music under the stars. Stunning sunrise and sunset and camel ride.
We had a wonderful time on this trip! Everything was organised very well. Nice camp to sleep, good food, camel ride and a really friendly driver! Unforgettable trip :)
We booked a Sahara excursion and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Pickup and transfer were well organized and comfortable. The drive into the desert already gave us a sense of adventure. The camel ride into the dunes at sunset was unforgettable — the colors, the silence, and the vastness of the desert made it a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The desert camp was clean and cozy. Our tent had comfortable beds, and the atmosphere felt authentic without losing comfort. Dinner and breakfast were tasty, with plenty of variety and local touches. The highlight was waking up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes — truly magical. This was a perfect way to share time with my dad and experience the desert. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and memorable adventure.
Friendly, fun and professional staff, we had an unforgettable stay. We fully recommend these guys for your visit to the desert!
We were not planning to go into the desert but I am so pleased we did! It was an incredible experience- the dunes are so beautiful, peaceful and the trip was very well organised. A beautiful camp with carpets, fire in the evening and music where the performers looked like they were having fun too!
It was a great experience with a great staff. They are so kind and positive. Every our recommendation 😊
What an unforgettable experience. We loved our guide, Abdul. He was funny and kind. He always checked in to make sure we were having a great time. Even though we stayed at the camp during the slow season, the whole staff still made it feel like a party. We enjoyed the food and slept comfortably. The live music was such a treat. The camel ride was the perfect length of time. We loved all of it.
The tour was a fantastic experience. Trips don't always leave promptly and it's always good to be able to go with the flow while travelling... both of these certainly apply here. Still, I absolutely recommend Zagora Desert Travel for anyone looking for tours in Morocco. They're a reliable and communicative group.
Amazing stay with Ali and Ibrahim. Nice tents with comfortable beds. They played music next to a fire and we ate an amazing Tajin. Thanks!
Unbelievable experience - Ismail is the man, allowed us to experience the desert as we wanted, kept us safe, and gave us access to one of the best places on earth - would 100% recommend - thank you!!
Excellent experience. The desert is beautiful, the people are super nice, good food and good moments. An experience that made an impact and will stay in our memories.
This desert tour was an absolute gem. The sunset was breathtaking, casting a mesmerizing palette across the sky. The camel ride at dawn was serene, offering tranquil views of the awakening desert. The food was delicious, adding a flavorful touch to the experience. Don't miss out on this unforgettable adventure.
Our trip exceed our expectations! Our first stop was at a Kasbah where we learned about traditional local pottery which was extremely impressive. After an hour, we reached the desert where our adventure began with a bumpy but very fun ride across beautiful dunes and rocks. We were welcomed by very friendly locals who showed us around a well equipped and clean camp. There was even a bathroom and a shower. After a quick snack, we enjoyed a camel ride into the sunset and were able to climb the dunes. The sunset in the desert was quite impressive! We were treated by a very delicious Tajine dinner and spent the rest of the evening talking to the locals, leaning a lot about culture and traditions. The night was very peaceful and relaxing. Personally, we would recommend to leave the light on as we met some scorpion and spider before going to bed. No less impressive was the high number of snake tracks on the dunes in the mornings (our guide assured us that none of the animals were dangerous as long as being left alone). Our driver as well as our guide, Rashid, were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and we would highly recommend both to everyone :) thank you for this fun experience!
Great experience overall. The pickup was done at their venue in which we were able to safely leave our car. The drive to the desert was interesting. We reached the camp after 2:30-3:00, right before sunset and we went by dromedarie to the dunes. Unbelievable sights and experience. Make sure you catch the sunset at the highest dune. Dinner was fine as well as sleeping accommodations. The only thing holding back the review is that our guide (driver from Zagora to the camp) barely spoke any English, French or Spanish, depriving us of having a guide that shared interesting knowledge with us during our ride to and from the desert.
For my daughter and me the trip to Erg Chigaga was the high point of our trip to Morocco. The car ride through the desert, the camel ride at sunset, good food, happy singing around the campfire, clean spacious tent, we enjoyed it wholeheartedly ! The view over the desert sitting on top of a sand dune.. unforgettable..
This wasn't my first trip to the desert in Marocco. But this one was really great. You can feel like you are at the end of the world. Erg Chigaga is really awesome. Offroad 4x4 was the adventure in itself. The whole team was very professional and the dinner was one of the best in Morocco. As a family of four we got a nice discount. Highly recommended.
I can totally recommend this tour. I have zero complaints, quite the contrary! Everything was very well organised, the tagine I had on the desert was one of the best I had in Morocco! The guide was very helpful and really made sure we knew what to do. The camp was much more comfortable than I had expected too! The beds were nice and clean :) There was a little bonfire and music in the evening too. The Erg Chigaga was just stunning!
Luxury in the desert.. the tents, thick blankets for the cold at night, comfortable beds, the candle lit dinners by the chef (the food was some of the best I had in Morocco and in the middle of the desert too!!) .. the attention to detail is beyond. Erg Chigaga dunes have magic and the staff has it too. They are incredibly kind and accommodating and will answer almost any questions you have about the desert with charm. I’ll never forget my experience here. If you are searching for top notch service this is your answer ..🫶🏼🫶🏼
Excellente experience and guides! A must and expect to repeat sometime again. Luckily we got in a great timing, neighter too hot, nor cold - perfect.
Hello, we did the 3 days luxury jeep tour from Marrkech via Zagora to Erg Chegaga with the perfect Guide Ismail - this tour exceedes all our expectations. Everything was perfectly organized - very informative and incedibly impressive - a dream is coming true!!!!
We decided to do the shorter trip to Zagora desert and it was a fantastic family experience! Communication with the team was excellent from the beginning, staff was very friendly and helpful. Camel trekking was amazing and great fun, kids absolutely loved it. Camp was nice and basic, views were amazing, people very welcoming and friendly. Great food, evening entertainment, we slept under the stars and watched a beautiful sunrise from the dunes. Fantastic experience for adventurous people. Definitely must do thing when in Morocco.
We had a great time on the trip. We drove initially to a small town where we were shown an interesting local pottery community, and taken on a short tour that explained the process of making. We then drove (mostly off-road which was exciting) through to the desert where we were treated to an exciting 1 hour camel ride, a lovely dinner and music made by the locals in the camp. The accommodation itself was super cozy, a bit warm, but running water and a shower was an option, as well as a Communal toilet. In the morning, we had the freedom to hike and climb any dunes we wanted, after which we were provided a tasty breakfast with tea, coffee and warm milk. We finished the day with sand boarding on the dunes which was entirely free of charge and open ended. Overall I would recommend going on this tour.
The drive with Youssef was awesome. He stopped at a pottery factory with us, we could choose when we needed a break and we had an awesome time driving through the dunes. It was bumpy but really fun. He is a very skilled driver and we always felt save. The camp is awesome with nice accommodations and good food. Real beds (1 double, 1 Single). We could choose to get a vegetarian meal and they would even have prepared vegan tajine. The Dromedar Tour was just too good. We arrived a a big dune at sunset and could watch the sun go down behind the dessert. In the morning we had time to do some sandboarding and let me tell you: Do it or you'll miss out! We are really happy to have done this and we would recommend it highly.
The perfect way to discover the desert in a short amount of time. We realy enjoyed the company of our guide, Rachid, who knows a lot about the region and speaks fluently english and french. Thank you very much for this wonderfull trip !
Awesome overnight trip. We enjoyed the drive from Zagora and into the desert - the pickup was prompt and easy. The desert experience was incredible - the camel ride to the dunes for sunset (see photos) was interesting, and the dinner & tea was very tradional. The tent was very well isolated against the cold so we actually had the best night sleep of our trip in the desert! 10/10 reccomend - the pictures don't do it justice. Thanks Ismail, Omar & Rasche..
We were welcomed very friendly in the camp. One hour before sunset we did a camel tour trough the dunes and watched the beautiful sunset. We had a delicious dinner and got listen to some traditional Sahara music played by the guides. The toilets and showers had running water and were very clean. At night they put the beds outside for us, so we had a perfect view at the marvelous night sky. In the morning we had a nice breakfast and then drove back. Our guide was with us the whole time and was very friendly. The only thing we didn't like, is that we had to drive to the desert camp with our own rental car, which was very small and got stuck in the sand. We had expected to drive with a car from the company. So we would only recommend booking the middle tour if you have a bigger car/ 4 wheel drive. But overall a once in a lifetime experience we definitely recommend!
We had an amazing tour in the desert. Our guide was very friendly and the driver drove us safe throught the desert. Anytime again!
Ismael find us just when we arrive Zagora, we were looking for some place to stay and he offered us different options without no compromise. We decided to choose the most expensive alternative instead of it was hard for us to spend a lot of money in just one night, but going throw the Sahara dessert with an unique local driver has been priceless… If you can, ask for Muhammad, he is close and impressively skilled at driving throw the sand, also he has a really good taste in music. Last but not least, one night under the dessert stars is a must if you can afford it, been in the middle of nowhere and wake up early to feel the energy of the place at blue hour just before see the sunrise at dune top. But as always, what i find more valuable is not the destination, but the path itself . Saha Ismael & Muhammad .
Everything was perfect, amazing experience, the car has the air conditioning, camp is great, shower and bathrooms are clean, dinner was delicious and so was the breakfast. Camel ride during the sunset is unforgettable experience! Be prepared and take a lot of water with yourself! And sleeping under the stars was also amazing! Surely recommend.
The best trip you can have with local people and that's what make it the best, the ride to desert was really perfect and arriving to the camp with sunset camel ride was like a dream. I highly recommend it to everyone want the live the real desert experience. Thanks Ismail and we will come back soon
We had a great experience visiting the Erg Chegaga desert. We had to be back early, but it was no problem for the team to adapt the program. Thank you for that!
Was an incredible experience, the sand dunes, the stars at night around a bond fire. All with the great company and music bereber.
We started out from Ismails place in Zagora at 1 pm. We had our own car and was able to leave it there safe and secure for the trip. Our guide Ali provided us with great and interesting knowledge of the area and our driver Ali showed great skills navigating the Sahara to the Berber camp in the desert. The ride from Zagora to Erg Chigaga took us around 3-4 hours by 4x4. The Sahara desert is a magical place to be, I can't overstate how much I recommended going there. We did a one hour camel ride in the sunset, make sure you climb a dune to catch a glimps of the landscape before the sun goes all the way down. Dinner was provided after sunset, and later gathering around the bonfire. After sunrise and breakfast the next morning we headed back for Zagora, being back around 12 pm. We had a fantastic trip, huge thanks to Ismail and Team Ali.
The road to the desert camp base was like a promise of a fine adventure. The local people are very warm and hospitable, and when it comes to their service is a good one considering they stay in the middle of the desert. The view of dunes combined with a sky full of stars is worth seeing!
Ismail took really good care of us, we had a nice and comfortable 2-3h Jeep ride to the beginning of the desert of the Sahara. The location had a really cool and sweet environment arrangements, like cool evening lights and yes the stars were amazing. Everything was perfect!
Looking at the stars and walking around in the dessert is a unique experience you should try. Everything was amazing, starting with our guide to everyone who served us.
We asked Ismail for a 2 nights tour in the desert. He proposed us a tour in private Jeep with visits and stops in Ouazazade, a night in his marvellous camping in Zagora, then el Chegaga desert in a silent and unique camp under the stars. Fantastic experience if you are looking for a wild and realistic morocco. Next time again with you Ismail!!!
Well guided tour, good driver and according to itinerary. Just beware: in winter time they start an hour earlier 1 PM. Good food and hospitality and kind camels :)
We chose one express night in desert of Erg Chigaga from Zagora and we had an awesome esperience. The tour is well organized, and the night in desert has been really an incredible esperience; the dunes at sunset are something unforgettable. We higly recommend, it deserves all :) Thank you Rashide! Our compliments also for the excellent dinner in the camp under a billion of stars!
Hey everyone, Today i want to share with you my great experience with "Zagora désert travel" in traveling to Erg Chegaga desert. In fact, we had a 2 days trip with Ismail from Zagora to Erg Chegaga. It was extremely comfortable and safe, full of authentic insider tips: historical and cultural information, places to visit and details to look at. Ismail was also always very helpful and accommodating, with 2 days it was possible to enjoy the trip with no hurry. I would hardly recommend to travel with Ismail as this is the best way to have a full immersion in real desert of Morocco!!!
