Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia, between the Mala Kapela mountain range in the west and northwest, and the Lička Plješivica mountain range to the southeast. Administratively, the park falls within two counties: Lika-Senj (90.7%) and Karlovac (9.3%). With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. The process of tufa formation, which results in the building of the tufa, or travertine, barriers and resulted in the creation of the lakes, is the outstanding universal value, for which the Plitvice Lakes were internationally recognised on 26 October 1979 with their inscription onto the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 1997, the boundaries of the national park were expanded, and today it covers an area just under 300 km2. The park is primarily covered in forest vegetation
Our driver was on time and delightful. However there were four of us and all indications were that our booking was with her father and his Mercedes which would have been much more comfortable than the small suv we rode in for two hours each way.
William gave us very clear instructions on how to walk through the park. He also was thoughtful. He purposefully told us to start from Entrance 2 when all tours start from Entrance 1. We therefore avoided the crowds and by passed the long wait to have to walk slowly behind big tour groups. He also timed our walk around all the sights of the park precisely

William picked us up right in front of the cruise port on time (early even) in a nice air conditioned car. He took us to the Plitvice Lakes and once arrived he explained what paths to take and approximate time it would take. He was then waiting for us as soon as we were ready to head back out. Overall, good conversation and good experience!

William was ready for us at the cruise terminal before we even got off the ship. He provided a lovely drive in a nice vehicle out to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The views on the drive were beautiful. Once at the park he took the time to get us a map and recommend the routes to take to see the best sites in the limited time we had to spend in the park. One our return to Zadar we had extra time and we dropped us off at the city center and provided us a map of the town with some additional recommendations for sites to see. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend his service.

This park is very beautiful and well laid out. You should plan for 4-6 hours to take a good tour. Be in shape and wear good shoes. Several stairs and slopes. The bus and the boat on the site are included. There are really a lot, a lot of people, so I suggest starting the trail very early in the morning, being patient and courteous, and respecting people who are slower. The waterfalls are spectacular and the water is azure blue.
This park is a little wonder, waterfalls more beautiful than each other, the site is protected and secure, provide good shoes. I was amazed by so much beauty!!...

I highly recommend a magical and relaxing place, very shady with waterfalls, each one more beautiful than the last. A work of cleanliness of the site which is remarkable given the number of km and visitors I say hats off to all these people who take care of it.

The park is gorgeous, nothing to add to the reviews of other users. We did the H route, ideal to see practically the whole park in a few hours. Difficulty of the route really minimal, suitable for children. The only advice is to pay attention if you choose to use public transport instead of organized buses. The public bus is very cheap and takes the same time as the atheists, but we had an unpleasant inconvegnious return: YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR SEATS
