Great tour and a great guide with a good sense of humour. He explained everything to us in English . He had expansive knowledge of all the sites we visited.

Surprise yourself with the first stop in the archaeological area of Uxmal through a guided tour that will help us to know the secrets of this wonderful place, we will walk through structures that highlight the Puuc style of the area, as well as contain mysteries and legends. The visit is 2 hours with the guide in the archaeological area.

Mayans distributed in the reserve. In addition to the tour of the museum, you can visit the botanical gardens with cocoa trees and complement it with a tour of the animal shelter, where you can admire endemic fauna that has been rescued. At the same time, you can visit the meliponary and a play area for the little ones.
We finish the tour at the same meeting point where we pass you in the morning. Between 05:00 and 05:30 p.m. The return journey time to Merida is 1 hour and a half from the Choco Story.

I found the chocolate experience very poor. Virtually no people and sad to see anomals fenced in such small areas Book direct. Cheaper and Viator sent wrong meet location.
Superb tour. Value for money. Tasty lunch. Very hot do take protection
This was an Amazing experience! Uxmal and Kabah were beautiful and being able to climb and interact with the ruins was amazing. Mauricio was a great guide and made sure both Spanish and English speakers got a full explanation. There were a few unexpected additions to the tour and at the cacao experience. It was a great day!
Nice experience I’d highly recommend it
The experience was wonderful only to be amplified by our knowledgeable tour team of Raul and Jorge. You won’t be disappointed. Sites were amazing!
Annì the guide was very engaging, full of details and well prepared on everything! The travel went smooth, all details were well managed! Thank you for the day!
The tour guide was informative, patient and kind. This tour was predominantly Spanish but if you need a translation to English, he also spoke English.
Uxmal was amazing. Lots to see, not a lot of people there. Really impressive ruins, some of which you can climb up. The guide, Pedro, had lots of stories and history to tell. Kabah was maybe not as exciting after Uxmal. The chocolate museum was interesting. Got to try a drink approximating the chocolate drink the Mayas made.
Excellent tour guide, fantastic ruins, great overall experience! The tour guide was beyond kind and was very knowledgeable and patient. The ruins were nearly empty of people so there were lots of opportunities for photos and wandering around up and down the structures. The chocolate museum was unexpected fun- we got to feed monkeys from our bare hands! Would definitely recommend this tour.
I enjoyed this tour. Uxmal and Kabah are lovely sites to visit. My group was just the right size and they asked some great questions. Our tour guide Raul was filled with knowledge to share. The only downside of this trip was the temperature. It was around 42°c at one point. The lunch offered was okay. I didn’t like how cheap they were with the chips, but it was what it was.
A really lovely way to spend the day. Uxmal and Kabah are equal to Chichen Itza in beauty, but much less crowded. And the Chocolate Museum is fascinating, includes some free samples, and also has a number of rescued wild animals to admire.
Really recommendable tour; our guide Saul did a really good job with sufficient information and flexibility in the tour
This was our 3rd of 4 single full day excursions with Colibri. So far this has been our absolute favorite!!! So much better than Chichen Iza! Our guide Raul was just the best. Excellent historical knowledge presented very well in English and with a brilliant sense of humor. Uxmal was absolutely incredible! Would highly recommend this instead of Chichen Iza if you don't have enough time to do both. Significantly less tourists at Uxmal and none of 600 vendors harassing us like at Chichen Iza. A new surprise around every corner, with plenty of shade and surrounded by lush forest. Learnt so much more about the Mayan history and culture on this tour than on Chichen Iza. And the chocolate museum was a pleasant surprise. Very interesting exhibits as well as a traditional Mayan cacao ritual, plus the demonstration of how the Maya made the cacao drink. Absolutely stunning gardens with plenty of shade as well as some fascinating local wildlife rescues animals, all of whom have been deemed not suitable for release due to their injuries. Kabah was another interesting historical site ...well worth climbing the steps! A truly unique hilly area that far surpassed our other archeological tours. And thanks to Johnny for keeping us safe...these roads were certainly our biggest challenge.
We arrived early and picked our seats in an air conditioned van. Travel was mostly fine. The tour was provided in English and Spanish. The sites were interesting. It was hot in April. The food provided tasted good. Drinks were not included in the lunch provided. The admission to the sites was not included. The chocolate experience was nice.
Well organised, very good guide - big recommendation
Great access to less visited ruins. Very different from Chichen Itza. The kids loved being able to climb and explore, not just look. The Chocolate Factory was a lot more than expected, and deserved more time than the tour allowed. Really enjoyed the Mayan ceremony and tasting the hot chocolate. Very interesting variety offered in this tour.
The tour couldn't have been better and was the right amount of time. Our guide was excellent. The process of booking the tour through Viator was also excellent.
It’s an excellent way to see two important Mayan sites and the height of the Puuc style, UXMAL and KABAH; our guide Pedro was excellent, very knowledgeable and impressively guiding in both English and Spanish. The lunch was really tasty and the museum of chocolate very interesting - highly recommend the cold/fredo chocolate drink at the cafe.
Good overview of the history of Mayan ruins at Uxmal & Kabah. It was nice to see the hacienda with the chocolate museum & nature preserve.
This was a great time. Uxmal is lesser known, but a beautiful site to visit. Go feed the monkeys at Choco-History! This is the tour to take.
Michelle was an enthusiastic and informative guide. She quickly switched from Spanish to English and answered all of our questions at Kabah and Uxmal. The two sites were amazing! Our lunch was delightful and I appreciated being able to choose my own menu. The Chocolate Museum seemed rather “ touristy” at the start, but they did an excellent job of explaining the history and production of cocoa . We liked the solemnity of the Shamen and watching the hot cocoa being made. The grounds were beautiful. Thanks to Jorge for safe driving and always helping people getting in and out of the van.
Great exprience. Lots of stairs so wear comfy shoes and bring water. The ruins were so amazing and the Choco Story stop was really fun. Luis and Annel were great guides and kept everything on schedule for the day.
This was an outstanding tour. The sites are amazing, and exploring them was enhanced by our guide’s knowledge of Mayan history and culture. Ending with the chocolate experience was great fun.
great trip. Raol guide very knowledgable, and super friendly. well organised small group of 14 lunch was better than expected highly recommended
driver was punctual and guide was fluent in spanish and english. sadly as the only non spanish speaker, i definitely missed out on the inside jokes and most explanations felt like a “lost in translation” (turn left more intensity) moment. google translate was helpful when there was signal. the worst part of the trip was being starved until 2pm. granted thet this is mexico and a late lunch is more of a norm. we all mentioned we were famished but the guide just nodded and i think he just wanted to complete the travel itin. honestly, considering the other mexicans tourists also felt starved; and that we started at 8am with no complentary snacks and no water, this felt more like torture. fortunately i always travel with food and water, as should you if you decide to embark on this tour. the chocolate museum was meh; it was very sad to see the caged animals in close proximity, the chocolate drinking ceremony was the highlight but that only took 10 mins. overall meh.
Jorge and Annie (sp?) were great guides, it was a friendly group, and the sites were beautiful. Navigating the steep stone stairs was at times hard. If you have mobility issues Kabah may not be possible. The bus was also extremely cramped, especially in the back. If you're tall or larger I recommend getting picked up at the headquarters/first pickup and getting there early to sit towards the front. On one of the bumpier stretches of road I smacked my head.
This tour is very balanced. We started with a visit to Kabah which is a phenomenal place, way smaller than Uxmal but also significantly less crowded which I really appreciated. Uxmal is just a stunning place and worth every penny. So much story in there, so many details to appreciate. You really need to go back if you want to really absorve the place. Our tour guide Raul did a monumental job explaining the big picture with the limited time we had. He was great, always in great spirit, showed a tremendous amount of knowledge about mayan history and the conversations were really engaging. He definitely was fundamental for this great experience. The chocolate museum was a good way to end the day, learned some interesting facts about the mayan connection with cocoa and we could taste some of it as well. Our driver Jorge was also great and made sure we arrived in time! The food at the restaurant was ok, I would recommend the guacamole over the lime soup. Overall this is a great tour and I 100% recommend it. I am actually planning to book a tour to Chichen Itza and hope the team is as good as this one!
A fantastic experience. Our guide and van driver were excellent. It was a long day but worth it. The guide’s translation was excellent and she was very kind and lots of fun.
We enjoyed the combination of activities , in fact surprised by how informative the chocolate museum was. Uxmal was of course the highlight, but Kabah was a close second. It was excellent that we were able to climb up among the structures. Lunch was very good. There were choices on each course. Mauricio was a super guide.
Uxmal is big, lots of walking and a fair amount of climbing, but it's beautiful and fascinating. Pedro was a wonderful guide, very considerate and accomodating. Choco-Story was a little different than I had anticipated, but all for the better. The lunch we had was as expected for a tour group. It tasted good but was barely warm. Don't choose the pok chuk, it was tasty but dry and tough as a piece of shoe leather. I'm 70 and not in great shape so physically it overwhelmed me a bit, but I would definitely endorse going.
This tour to Uxmal and Kabah was very good -- much better than our earlier tour to Chichen Itza. We had plenty of time to visit the ruins and our guide Pedro gave us succinct, clear explanations in both English and Spanish at both sets of ruins. Lunch was good. The chocolate place was a self-guided tour, not quite what we expected. Nonetheless, it was interesting and we got to see some Jaguars! All in all, it was a good day.
Guide was very helpful. It would make things much easier if all the entry fees were already included in the tour price. About the lunch, we do not recommend Poc Chuc. Not good... Guacamole was awesome.
We loved Uxmal. It was such a better experience than Chichen Itzs. Our guide Michelle was very knowledgeable. Could have done without the Chocolate tour.
Our tour guide Raul was incredibly knowledgeable the historic informaton we received was on point. The tour was beautiful, we skip the lines and ate at a nice local restaurant that is included in the tour. Overall a great experiene I always book all my tours with Viator they always work with local agencies that are top notch around the world. I've used them in Rome, Greece, Mexico and Colombia.
The tour is in fact great. The only problem is the fact that it is suppose to be bilingual, which means you need to want half of the time during the explanations. That is is theory because since most of our Group was speaking in Spanish, the guide spoke a lot more in Spanish than English during the first visit. So , My wifi, who does not understand Spanish at all, missed most of the informations. When she asked the guide to speak more in English, she was really rude and did not admit she was speaking more in speaking. The way she treats my wifi in front of the Group was very unprofessionnal. She then spoke more in English and we were able ton understand everything for the 2 last visits. I send a privtae message to the company . It seems they don't really care since i received and answer written with Chatgpt. I would note book with this company again.
Timely and efficient schedule. Pickup and dropoff were easy. Mauricio and eduardo are both warm and accommodating. Very impressed at how Mauricio remembers all the passenger names. Very highly recommended.
Uxmal was nice to see. The van was very cramped, the lunch that was provided at around 4 pm was terrible, the restaurant was dirty.
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide and driver were wonderful and the information provided during our exploration was great. We were able to stop for snacks right out side of Mérida, and our lunch restaurant had great food.
The tour was great. Even though we were under the sun most of the time, Michelle had been incredibly helpful and informative, telling us the history of the Mayan people.
This trip was great , the guid was knowledgeable about and humorous and really helpful with my limited Spanish. I would definitely book with them again.
Well organized from start to finish with clear communication before pick-up. Happy we got to stop at all 3 places our driver and tour guide were nice. We enjoyed the tours and details provided by our guide at Uxmal and Kabah - it was great they provided the tour in both English & Spanish. We felt very rushed at the chocolate stop - we didn’t get to see the chocolate making and many of the exhibits. Bus/van was uncomfortable in the back seats.
My wife and I took the Uxmal/Kabah tour with Diego (driver) and Anel (tour guide), and we had an amazing experience! Anel is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging—she brings the history, context, and stories behind these archaeological sites to life. The food was excellent, and the weather was perfect for this type of adventure. One thing we really appreciate about Colibrí Tours is how well they design their day trips. Whether you’re looking for a quick outing or you only have a few days to explore, they make sure you get the most value for your time and money. Highly recommended! It’s quickly becoming a bi-weekly activity for my wife and me. A quick tip: bring cash, a hat, and comfortable shoes—you won’t regret it!

¡No te vas a arrepentir!
The site at Uxmal Kabah is the best archeological site available through these tours. It is not as crowded as the other sites and you get plenty of time to explore on your own. The lunch is acceptable, not great culinary experience but we have to eat to continue the visits.
This was a joke and a scam of a tour. If you need someone to drive you from point A to point B for 10 hours then book this. If you want to learn anything historical about Uxmal this is NOT the tour. The guide had 0 knowledge about anything. Literally 0 things learned. No explanation about the ruins, nothing about the hieroglyphs. They also combine spanish speaking people with english speaking. It’s just a mess because the tour guide could barely speak english and you learn nothing.
Uxmal was very enjoyable. Lunch was good, The Chocolate Museum was a total waste of time. If I did it over again I would have done the Uxmal and Cenotes trip.
Tour can end at 1:30 . No need for the chocolate museum OR lunch. Wonderful guide and driver . Very informative and interesting
This was an amazing experience. We were told that that there were very few pyramids that you could climb but we were on almost every single pyramid at Uxmal and Kabha. Maybe not to the top but definitely on the pyramid. The chocolate Factory was a great experience and getting to season and spice. Our own cup of cocoa was very different and unique. The animals were amazing and to know that there are rehabilitation centers here for injured wildlife really made us happy. The dinner was great and I'm finding Yucatan Mayan food very interesting, with flavors that are foreign to my palate. The ride to and from was comfortable and informative.
What a well organized tour. Our guide Saul was amazing!! The knowledge that was given at the sites we visited was very helpful. It’s great they speak in Spanish and English. The van was very nice and comfortable. Saul kept us abreast every step of the way of what was to take place next. I must say lunch was incredible. Usually on tours like this you get no lunch and if you do it’s very minimal. We had an appetizer, main course and dessert. It was a full day so be ready to do a lot of walking and climbing up stairs. I will say at Uxmal there are two fees. One must be paid in pesos and the other can be pesos or card. Overall I am happy I booked with them and I would do it again. They were very professional and kind.
