Felix Feder was an excellent host sharing lots of information for our mixed group of English and Spanish speakers.

I thought I over a good amount about mezcal, but my trip to Xoul expanded my mind and palette. After an art expert took us through the themed rooms of Mexican artists, we ended in the Mezcal tasting room. Our guide Felix Feder was knowledgeable and passionate about the mezcal, without pressuring us to buy any. I wish the mezcal was a touch more affordable, because I’d love to take two of them home. Overall a relaxing afternoon with some mezcal stories to take home.

Great experience at Xoul. Tasted a wide variety of artisanal Mezcals with Felix and Frederico who were excellent guides to everything Mezcal. Beautiful gallery of pieces from around Mexico there too!

Came with my parents during a day trip to Valladolid, we all loved the shop and Mexican artists, and the Mezcal tasting with Jorge was brilliant. He went above and beyond to explain how tequilas and mezcals are made as well as introducing us to coffee tequila - highly recommend for a fun family tasting!

The gallery and mezcaleria are an amazing overview of Mexico’s art and craft. I would highly recommend passing there. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly especially Jose at the mezcaleria. I would advice buying local mezcal or tequila here, they showcase local productors.

A great place just off the main square. Beautiful artisanal artwork to view and (if you like) buy, and a great selection of mezcal from various producers. The mezcal tasting starts at $MX 450 for three mezcal and a cocktail, with an explanation from our host. He was very helpful and even gave us a couple of extras to taste. Pleasant garden and air conditioned indoor seating. Great way to spend a late afternoon break!

Jose gave us an amazing tailored mescal experience, we had a flight of 3 and he provided a great range to try and talked us through the taste profiles of each as we tried to them. The Sierra Nevada was delicious!

We came across Xoul shortly after checking into our hotel in downtown Valladolid. We were specifically interested in a mezcal tasting during this trip and Xoul offers this in addition to an art gallery which highlights the work of local artists. We opted for the option to sample 5 different mezcals and received warm and fantastically knowledgeable, service from Jose, who recommended five different artisanal bottles. Jose walked us through the tasting notes for each sample and also crafted one of the best mezcal cocktails we have ever tried at the end of the tasting. In addition to the great service, the ambiance is wonderful, five stars all the way around.

Jose was an amazing mezcal host. Had a great time with the recommendations and flavors he suggested. Atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable.

Very disappointed in this experience unfortunately. All of the reviews were great! But maybe we didn’t have a great “guide”. Basically we were served a plate of five tastings each and given a booklet with information about each of the mezcals available. There wasn’t any personal explanation or serving of each drink. Definitely not a guided experience. It would have been really nice to have each of the tastings labeled so at least I knew which page to read about as I sipped. (We were of course told the names of each five when served but forgot as we drank and chatted). The process was not interactive, there was no teaching or fun conversation between us and our server, and basically we just drank by ourselves in the corner of a bar without any “journey through history” to be found. The gallery had handicrafts that you can find in essentially any shop. It was nice to wander around with cocktail in hand. Pretty small though.

Jose was great - we did the Tequila tasting where we tried an assortment of tequila from the local region. Was great fun - would recommend if in the area. You also get a tasty cocktail of your choice at the end.

Amazing experience going through the art galleries. The curation of the galleries was excellent. High end. Jose the bartender at the mezcal tasting was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Overall an amazing experience with walking around the galleries and mezcal tasting with Jose, would highly recommend both :)

Stumbled on XOUL when I was walking around Valladolid and I’m so glad I did! I had the 3 mezcal tasting (that comes with a cocktail at the end). José was so warm and friendly, picked great options, and explained the process and tasting notes in detail. The space is gorgeous as well. Highly recommend!

Beautiful experience mixed with unique art and authentic mescal and tequila. The staff were so welcoming, starting with Gabi (hopefully I got that right) who was very inviting and knowledgable about the different types of art and their meanings. Then with Fede, who talked us through the origins and history of mescal, as well as answering all our questions. Despite the fact he warned us about his English, he was fluent and understood and catered our every query. Great service all round

Amazing a must visit. We did the mezcal tasting. Really good drinks, you can choose your own our let the waiter choose. Our waiter Fede did an incredible job, we felt extremely welcomed. Also the art displayed is beautiful and everything handcrafted. If you are in Vallalodid please visit this place.

Mescal and tequila tasting followed by an art exhibition, I would highly recommend this experience to anyone in the area. José was a great host and very knowledgeable.

Olaris provided us with an exceptional tour, showcasing a remarkable historical exploration of artistic creations crafted from diverse materials and by esteemed creators. This was followed by a 5 taster of Vodka shots.

Honestly best place. They do a tour for the gallery and the mezcal testing is the best, they explain everything, the taste is so nice and the drink in the end the best. José is just the best guide :D

First time trying mezcal with the 5 shot tasting menu. Even coming in as a complete beginner you can clearly taste the differences in bot taste, texure, and aroma of each mezcal shot. The guide made sure we were getting the full experience without making us feel uncomfortable. Highly recommended.

José has guided us excellently through the experience of getting to know Mezcal from scratch. We approached the tasting experience as newbies and left with a satisfying understanding of processes and how to enjoy the mezcals the best. Extremely recommended!
