While visiting Mérida on vacation, we decided to book a food tour and it ended up being one of the best parts of our trip. Our guide, Dania, was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel fun and authentic. Not only did we get to try incredible local foods, but Dania also explained the history and cultural significance behind everything we ate, which made it even more meaningful. She knew exactly where to take us and introduced us to places we never would’ve found on our own. Every stop was delicious, well-planned, and a perfect mix of traditional Yucatán flavors. Dania also gave us great recommendations for other restaurants and things to do around Mérida, which was super helpful for the rest of our trip. If you’re in Mérida, I highly recommend doing this food tour—especially if Dania is your guide. She made the experience unforgettable!

We had a great day with Dania. We have typically avoided organized tours but are so glad we were on this one. Our tour started on time, and we got right to it. Come hungry and bring a hat. You are going to eat, walk and meet some terrific people. There is a schedule, but using a famous line from Pirates Black Pearl, it is just a guideline... Knowing there is another stop is the only thing that got us moving a couple of times. We had a fun time visiting with each other. Dania did a good job explaining where we were location wise. She kept bringing us back to the included food and beverages we enjoyed at each of the stops. This tour was a mix of landmarks, history and food. We encourage you to book and enjoy your Merida Food Tour.

Wonderful exposure to Yucatan food with visits to several locally owned establishments. Cocktails with local influences was a great way to end the tour. Wear good walking shoes and bring a healthy appetite.

Wow. A fantastic five hours spent with Dania. We started early (don't have breakfast before coming!) and were soon enjoying one of the eight stops on the tour. All the food and drinks were excellent giving you an insight to Yucatan cuisine. Dania provided an excellent history of all the tastes of Yucatan and also the social and economic history of the city. The walking in between meals was at a good pace, so you arrived at each stop ready for food and drink. Highly recommended. Ask for Dania.

This is really a terrific value, with lots of delicious food and drink, as well as cultural and historical perspectives, not to mention a lot of time, care, and attention from our guide.

Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and her English skills were excellent. In addition this tour has been very carefully curated to have excellent pacing and keep you as protected from the sun and heat as is possible in Mérida. We walked a ton, but had regular food and drink breaks throughout the tour that made no particular part of the tour feel gruelling - in addition generous considerations were made by the tour guide at every stop for people who had allergies, food preferences/dislikes to ensure they weren’t left out of the fun. This didn’t apply to me personally but it’s a sign of an excellent tour guide - they put themselves in your shoes and want you to learn and have fun with everyone else! I wouldn’t hesitate to use this service again in the future or at other destinations. Even our guide said they’re always adding new spots and keep researching to find out more so that they can change the tours up and keep delivering a top notch product!

We had an amazing day, full tummies, and happy hearts. Dania was our guide and she was lovely, fun, and knowledgeable. She passionately shared with us several staples of Yucatan cuisine and culture. She made all of us feel so welcomed and made effort throughout the day to get to know us each individually, and felt like a good friend by the end of the day. She also did a great job of accommodating those in the group who had food allergies or limitations.

In addition to the detailed descriptions of all food and drink we sampled; We were given wonderful insights into the history of Merida as we walked between the variety of eateries in markets and restuarants. The Taste of Old Merida food tour hosted by Dania was an awesome experience. We had tried 8 really unique locations which had authentic tasting experience displaying truly great tasting foods. Dania was a great host with great knowledge of the area and the foods being offered. In the end it was lots of great food enjoyed with great company. A definite must try.

Jorge is an amazing guide. So friendly and knowledgable. Conversing with him about thr foods, cooling, and history was so rich. It’s great that Sabores Mexico found this chef and restauranteur to lead the new Merida tour. We highly recommend him as a guide. And the food choices were amazing. So much food, delicious drinks, and the hosts at each of the seven stops made us fereel like family. My favorite stop was at Manifesto, Claudio’s artisenal coffee house! Claudio has the best perspective on coffee that I have rver experienced.

It was a very illustrative experience through the different cantinas, different styles and tastes, and above all, Dania's guidance with that enthusiasm that encouraged us at every moment, which made time pass without us noticing, making us enjoy it a lot.

I got to know Mérida like never before; I live here and had never gone to the markets because I didn't know which places to go to. Don't eat before coming because you are going to try delicious things, and bring cash, and if it's hot, drink electrolytes, haha.
