The tour operator squeezed as many of us into the van as they could, which was fine, but it took 1 hour to pick up everyone at their hotel. The guide, David, was excellent though - he's an amazing storyteller, and definitely brings the whole history of Maya civilization alive. He's incredibly bilingual and explains every single thing in both languages effectively. The food on this daytrip was excellent, we had lunch at a simple rural eatery and the pibil was incredibly flavorful, fall off the bone, and authentic. They could have brought us to a better cenote though, this one wasn't super impressive compared to all the cenotes I've seen.

Nice tour with lots of information. Van not for tall people. Fortunately there were a few empty seats
having to pay entrance fees and in differnt forms some cash some cards is a hassle. It should be all inclusive. they can find out what the current amount is so you don't have to go digging for pesos in crowds at locations. no convenient.
The information about the sites was excellent. However, the tour followed an information tour and then time for pictures. Our guide tried to hurry us along when we wanted to take pictures of what he was describing. The amount of time at each site was appropriate. We’re nerdy about the culture and enjoy learning. The information was there, but some pieces the whole group didn’t get to experience. For example, in the back of the main pyramid at Uxmal there was a spot where the guide had one person stand in the middle of an arch and see if he was facing the middle of the temple. He then had the person move to the back-right corner and see again. Right after he hurried us to the next information spot not letting anyone else experience the difference. Finally, the guide asked us where we were from but nothing else. A little more connection would have enhanced the tour. Lunch was amazing. Authentic and delicious. The ride was a little cramped as we had a full vehicle of 10. I recommend not being afraid to ask for the air conditioning to be turned up as the van can get quite warm. It takes a little getting used to how they drive in Mexico and it did make my wife feel a little unsafe. Tailgating, speed, and 3-wide in a two-lane seem to be normal and the visitor should be aware. Overall I’m giving a 4 due to the rushed information schedule and the ride.
The tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly
Samuel (Sammie) made the experience so comfortable! I was the only English speaker in the tour and he seamlessly went from English to Spanish throughout the day. He also had a depth of knowledge and had ties to the Mayan culture that made the whole tour so relevant and unique!
A very good trip, guide is great, group of people are nice. Uxmal and Kabah are beautiful, cenote is replaced temporarily and just so so.
You get to see a lot. The lunch is delicious. The guide/driver (David) knew his Mayan history well. He was also a very safe driver. You never felt like his previous job was as a taxi driver. However, the telephone number to reach the provider was disconnected. I could only contact them via What's App. But since I was out of WiFi range, I had no idea when I would get picked up. It was a bit disconcerting. They moved the pickup location, but only by 50 yards. However, despite a wide (30 minutes) window for pickup, they still arrived another 5 minute late. Lastly, the guide gave great pep talks at the entrance to each site, but did not do much walking around to point things out. As it is, I missed a lot of stuff, especially at Kabah.
I got a lot of knowledge from an experienced guide in an effective way. I would do it again. Small group of 7.
The guide was very knowledgeable and told a story, not just threw information at us. Uxmal and Kabah were great and impressive.
We booked this tour because it was advertised as an English-language tour, but most of the explanations (around 80%) were only in Spanish. The guide also provided very limited information at the cenote, Uxmal, and Kabah. We expected a much more informative guided tour. We contacted the company afterwards to express this, but they never even replied to our message. After reading other reviews, we noticed several people mention the same issue with the “English-speaking” tours. Be careful before booking this tour.
Amazing tour with David. The tour covered many spots and I loved every single minute of it
Three amazing sites to visit, incredibly preserved ruins at both Uxmal and Kabah. Wilberth the guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, and got a lot of information across despite doing the whole tour in two languages, and we enjoyed the interactive quiz on the way back. The included lunch was surprisingly good and swimming in the cenote was a perfect refreshing way to finish the day. Make sure to bring a towel, water shoes, and some extra cash as when we went the Uxmal admission price was a bit higher than advertised on the tour site. Would have liked a little bit more free time after the guided tour to explore Uxmal as it's a big site. On a side note just be careful buying the admission tickets for Uxmal as you need to pay for and present both the ticket and the receipt for the taxes to enter, but the lady at the second ticket counter didn't return our receipt after we paid and then we were almost denied entry (though this was no fault of the tour)
I have been coming to Cancun for 40 years. Each visit to its beautiful beaches always is great, but I always wish there was time to visit the Merida area, particularly the Mayan site of Uxmal. T
We had a very informative guide who answered all our questions and gave us many incites about Mayan culture.
Excellent tour today with our guide David. An incredibly knowledgeable guy, and I learned a huge amount about the Maya. So many mind-blowing facts, told by David with great energy. Daniel was a good and careful driver, and took care when we encountered traffic (a big lorry and a herd of cows!) and a big downpour of rain. Uxmal and Kabah were fantastic and atmospheric, and not at all crowded (unlike Teotihuacan near CDMX which I was underwhelmed by). Lunch was better than I expected, (3 courses included, drinks extra), I had the sopa de lima, the cochinita pibil and flan. Be aware that it’s a bit later than you may be used to so perhaps have a snack in your bag to keep you going along if needed, along with plenty of water. The final stop of the cenote was a welcome chance to cool down, and even though I don’t swim it was easy to sit on the edge and put my legs in. All in all, I would 100% recommend this tour.
Got to experience this tour! It is a longer tour so just beware but our guide David was very knowledgeable and helpful with all the stories and information on the sites we visited. We booked this tour however instead of going to kabah they do give you the option to go to the Choco Story so just let them know which you would like. Since we chose kabah it was a shorter experience we had like 30 mins to explore but worth it. Afterwards a decent drive to the cenote and it is so pretty and private
Be sure to bring a towel, slip ons, and some cash for the entrance fees. Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide.
It was a great tour. Uxmal absolutely stunning, Kebah interesting and the cenote amazing, clean blue water and not too crowded. The 3-course lunch was delicious. Alberto was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and friendly. I totally recommend this tour!
Small group van, full day, in both English and Spanish. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke well. Ruins were lovely! Be aware of specific spots in the ruins that have Instagram potential. Cenote is private owned and small entry fee is required whether you swim or just observe.
A fantastic day with David and Jose. We were picked up promptly and enjoyed wonderful tours full of information. Uxmal is so quiet and peaceful. Lunch was delicious. The cenote was also quiet and we were the only group there. Everyone was lovely and interesting. A great day!
Bring your bathers to swim in the cenote. Be ready for a long day. Lunch was great, local Mayan food. Guide very helpful.
We learned a lot from our tour guide. He showed us a lot and told us a lot about the Mayan people. We love our tour.
Excellent trip to the historic sites. Francisco was an excellent guide and his knowledge of the history of the Mayan culture made the experience so much more meaningful. The lunch was nice and the cenote was refreshing after a day of walking around the sites.
Really nice tour guide, driver, beautiful ruins in Uxmal, Kabah, and Cenote. A person should bring 2000-4000 pesos for pyramid ticket, shop for gifts, small side snack, bug spray, sunscreen, towels, swimsuit, water shoes for rocks and dramamine for anti nausea for driving to towns. Top: The large ruins is a good 1-2 hours. The tour guide should give 5min per tour speech at ruins to take pictures and a moment.
It was very good-- only about 15 people in our group Our guide David has had 35 years experience a a guide and explains the sites very well.
Really enjoyable day! A great way to see 3 different sites and learn a lot in the process. As a solo traveler, this was an ideal way to do it without getting a private guide or renting a car.
All aspects of the tour were managed well by our guide Francisco. We learned a lot about Uxmal and Kabah. The cenote was divine to swim in!
This was a great trip, and the guide did a fantastic job, explaining all the important aspects of these amazing ruins, and did so in both Spanish and English, which made it really easy to understand what was being talked about.
If you're the kind of traveler who just wants to check off boxes, this tour is fine. If you want to actually learn a decent amount about the ruins, you'd be much better off on a private tour or just hiring a driver to take you on the same tour and hiring one of the very knowledgeable guides on site at Uxmal. Unless you're a solo traveler, it would probably be cheaper to do it that way. Here are the problems with this tour: 1) Lots of time wasted picking everyone up at different hotels rather than a central meeting spot. 2) Because the guide gives the tour in English and Spanish, you don't get as much information as you might like 3) You will not get to see all of Uxmal, at least not up close. The two hours advertised wouldn't be enough time, but my two hours includes waiting in line to get in, which wasn't fast, and waiting a solid 10-15 minutes for some very slow people to use the bathroom. 4) You get virtually no information at Kabah - just a brief into and then freedom to explore. You'd get more information just reading the wikipedia article. 5) The cenote is nothing special. There are plenty of cenotes all over the Yucatan. You can easily find a better (or as good one) at another time. Or you can go to this one on your own. 6) The lunch sucks. The restaurant seems to exist solely for tourist groups. Choices are limited and it was blandest food I had on my trip. It was really a one star tour but I'm giving it two because 1) I did get to the places I wanted to get to and there aren't a ton of options for Kabah and 2) the tour guide was nice.
Francisco & the bus driver were great! Uxmal was interesting, chocolate museum was fun, lunch was mediocre, cenote was mediocre but it was a good day!
A full day exploring 2 different Mayan Archaeological sites plus a Cenote at the end. Lunch included, gives you time to speak to others from other parts of the world. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Just when I thought we were getting no commentary on the way, he stood up and spoke for a good solid hour educating us. Speaking both Spanish and English. On site he toured us around the sites again very knowledgeable about it all. Remember to bring enough pesos to pay the entrance fees. If you're short on pesos you can use credit card for entry into Uxmal. Cash for the International Federal Fee but card for the actual entry ticket. 2 bottles of water included. Hotel pick up from most hotels. All in all, good value. Sit back and enjoy the transportation. Expect to walk a lot including many stairs. You'll probably put on 8000 steps.
It was very nice, the guide, Francesco was fun and very nice. The cenote was cool, and Uxmal and Kabah were very interesting to visit
Francisco is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. He loves Yucatán and the Maya culture that defines it. This is the best tour you can possibly do.
The guide Francisco was great. Very informative and attentive to the whole group. The driver was a safe driver. We would like the tour operator to be able to buy tickets for us to skip the line at Uxmal.
Our trip to the ruins and cenote was terrific. Our guide David was amazingly knowledgeable and a terrific communicator in English and Spanish. The sites were both interesting. We had plenty of time to explore them. The cenote was magical. The lunch stop was also enjoyable with very good food.
Well paced tour with a nice combination of activities and an exceptional guide - very knowledgeable and engaging. Communication and coordination fantastic throughout.
Pablo was our guide on this great tour of Uxmal and Kabah, two of the sites on the Ruta Puuc (or, Mayan Route). Pablo was very knowledgeable about both classical and contemporary Mayan culture, and did a wonderful job relating how Mayan religious beliefs shaped their response to the arrival of the conquistadors. He provided great insights into the environmental factors reflected in the architecture, cultural, and trade relationships of the Mayan cities of the Puuc (hill country) region. The number of visitors at Uxmal was significantly less than those at the more well-know Chichen Itza--and were even smaller at Kabah. Do carefully read the tour description to understand what is and is not included in the tour price. The additional admission fees that must be paid to the Yucatan state and Mexico federal authorities are significant, particularly for those who are not residents of Mexico. It is a full-day trip from Merida, but very much worth your while.
It's an excellent way to explore these ruins with an amazing guide who has incredible knowledge. Uxmal and Kabah were fascinating, and the dip in the cenote was also cool.
We had a wonderful time today learning about the Uxmal and Kabah Mayan Ruins on the Ruta Puc in the Yucatán Peninsula. Our tour guide,Pablo, was engaging and well versed in his cultures history. We also had a very healthy lunch and visited a cenote to cool off. This was an amazing tour and learned so much. A must see!
Uxmal should not be missed!! This was a great way to get to see the ruins. Allan was an incredible guide and seamlessly spoke English and Spanish during our trip. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable and really considered the groups needs even when others strayed from the group and almost ruined our itinerary. He was very professional and attentive. I opted for Kabah while others went to the chocolate museum and I was not disappointed. The cenote was a nice way to cool after a long day in the sun. Overall and fantastic tour for a great price!
Uxmal was wonderful—- not the craziness of Chichen Itza w their vendors. Kabah was pretty magnificent. The cenote was small but well worth the trip. Our guide Erwin was knowledgeable and spoke to the group In English and in Spanish fluently. The driver Jorge was cautious and polite.
Irwin was the perfect guide. Uxmal was everything I hoped for & Kabah was a lovely surprise. The cenote was refreshing and so good to know it's run by a local collective. Highly recommend this trip!!
Tour to Uxmal was excellent! David our guide was the most knowledgeable, kind and enthusiastic tour guide we have ever had. So much information about the Mayan culture!
Honestly, Uxmal is way better than Chichen Itza. Plus the cenote was proper remote and we didn't have to wear a life jacket like all the other touristy ones! The only thing I've struggled with in Mexico is the rapid switching between Spanish and English every sentence. Incredibly impressive but almost impossible to keep up sometimes. Not many English speakers so appreciate this would limit options but perhaps would be better not to lump together on tours. Same applies to one I did to Chichen Itza the next day
Though I went solo, I made beautiful friends on this intimate your. We were total of 5 of us plus driver. The driver was wonderful. I feel the splitting of the tour is quite concerning as the driver has to do back and forth at top speed to makeup for the time. It is dangerous and scary. I would say to not mix the tour. That was my negative feedback. There needs to be an arrangement of a headset with mic for the driver to speak so back seat can hear instead of the driver speaking with mic in hand. Having a cooler or ice box for people to keep their drinks and food is also, recommended. The lunch has vegetarian option and is good.
Visit Uxmal and guided tour for approx 1-2 hours, then visit Kabah for 90 minutes or so. Then you eat lunch (kind of low quality lunch, but it's food) and pay about 60-80 pesos for water. Lastly you visit a very nice, private cenote (the opening to the cenote is not directly above, there are about 40 stair steps down with handle). But it's private and very nice, there are also little bats inside of the cenote and little fishes.
We where fortunate to have a very good guide and driver in a small group of 8-9 persons. The guide was knowledgeable and eager to explain, sometimes too solo speacher. We enjoyed our lunch. The Kabah was nice to see but Uxmal was fantastic. Visit to cenote was fun - a relaxed one and probably not among the most spectacular. Very happy to have done this tour.
Both sets are ruins were fascinating. Our guide was very knowledgeable.. The lunch was delicious and they showed us a traditional Mayan oven. The cenote was small but very pretty and refreshing.
It was wonderful and Kumen and Jonatan were both great. We all had a great time and learned so much. I highly recommend this tour.
