The tour is long but well worth the trip. The tour guide was friendly, knowlegable and well informed.

The cenote on this tour was the first we had ever been to and we absolutely loved it. Chichen itza was really nice but I wish we had gotten more time to explore on our own. By the time the tour guide finished talking we only had about 15 minutes left to look around.
The guide was very knowledgable and helpful! Overall the experience was incredible. They include the best possible cenote in the tour!
Our guide David and our driver Javier were both fantastic. Our group was a mix of Spanish and English speakers and believe me when I tell you that David repeated every single phrase in English/Spanish back-to-back even jokes which takes a lot of skill. He’s been doing the tour since the 90s so he’s had a lot of practice. So interesting and informative. Really enjoyed this tour.
We were not able to go to Chichen Itza due to protests and closures of the site. We went to Uxmal, Kabul, and a small cenote instead. The new sites were very cool to see but we felt our tour guide did not give us much of a tour. He started off very strong but as the day progressed we felt more like school children being dropped off at a site and left to explore on our own and given a time limit to return to the car. We also did not feel it was clearly stated that even though we paid for the tour, we would still need to pay for entrance into every spot we visited. We were not prepared for this and other patrons to the tour were gracious enough to cover for us because we did not have the cash on us and ATMs were not on site. The other members of our tour felt the same. We highly recommend visiting all of the sites we were able to visit, but honestly do it on your own time and you will save money and have a much more worthwhile experience.
A really great tour with Alberto and Jose. The large van is air conditioned which is critical with the heat and they continuously supplied cold water which is much appreciated. Alberto seamlessly moved between Spanish and English explanations to accommodate different language speakers — providing the same thorough level of details to both. They give you time at each site to explore, so you’ll enjoy it as much as you are willing to explore. At Izamal we were able to walk up a pyramid, visit the monetary and check out some shops. The cenote was a great experience — it’s quite built out, but is a unique opportunity. Chichén Itzá is just incredibly and jaw-dropping. Alberto spent an hour going through detail of Mayan history and up to contemporary land purchases and transfers. I highly recommend this tour. Alberto and Jose were great and you’ll have the opportunity to explore places yourself while also learning a lot of context and history with the structure of a tour guide. It’s sort of the best of both worlds.
This is a wonderful way to see some great history behind the Mayan culture some of the ruins/pyramids and cenotes. I LOVE THE CE-Notes but THEY MUST RECOMMEND PEOPLE WEAR SWIM SHOES because you are not allowed to walk to the Ce-note with shoes unless you have on swim shoes.. The rubber mats located where you have to change into swim wear and the sidewalk/ground that you have to walk on to get to the Ce-note were VERY UNCOMFORTABLE😒..
Davide was very knowledgeable & funny. He was passionate about te Mayan's & the Yucatan region. The Cenote was a must do, Izmal was nice but Chichen Itza is spectacular. Pity place is overrun with souvenir stalls that really spoils the effect.
All around beautiful experience! Awesome and very knowledgeable tour guides. I loved listening about the culture and history. The food was Soo good 🤤 I miss it already lol. My kids had a blast jumping in the Cenote! Simply an Unforgettable experience! Thank you to everyone involved in making our tour awesome!
Do not book this tour if your main desire is to see Chichen Itza, you essentially spend most of the day in Izamal and the Cenote before being rushed around the archeological site with no time to see even half of it, if that. We were told we would have a whole hour to explore Chichen Itza by ourselves, what we were not told is that even though the site technically closes at 5pm all tourists are encouraged to start leaving at 4:30pm with major parts of the site closed off, therefore giving you about 30 mins to see everything. If you wish to actually experience Chichen Itza my advice would be to break off from the tour group the moment you get inside the gates and meet them at the bus later. Or book an entirely different tour.
Good experience and tour guide was very knowledgable and very willing to share. Seen the most beautiful thing in the world.
It's a long day but we covered a lot of distance. Enough time at each location and nice lunch. The cenote was great fun and Chichen Itza was amazing
Our driver was great and very knowledgeable, although I suppose i didnt realize that all the tickets were not included in the tour.
Great tour, three great experiences. Seeing the yellow town was cute, but climbing on the Mayan pyramid was awesome. Beautiful cenote on this tour, I’ve seen many, this one is super pretty. Chichen-Itza was a wonder. Such a cool place, bring sunscreen and plenty of water, it’s in the sun.
Excellent day out full of variety and a very informative guide. Visits to Izamal, a Cenote and Chichén Itzá were all superb!
Our main guide, Carlos, was great. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. But overall the trip felt rushed. I don’t see the point of stopping at Izamal. It didn’t offer much, if anything. The Chichén Itzá experience was fantastic, except for the extraordinarily aggressive vendors selling souvenirs. Some were fun to haggle with, others I just walked away from while they shouted at me. If I did this trip again I’d only do the cenote at Ki Kil and Chichén Itzá. I’d spend more time at each and forget Izamal.
Don’t forget your swimsuit! The tour is full of fun, entertaining and educational moments. It is very well organized and the tour guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. If you are interested in experiencing all the highlights of Yucatan in one full day, this is the tour for you.
Enjoyed sites, but felt very unsafe in car as driver was dangerous.
This was a very interesting and enjoyable tour Our guide, Alberto, was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable. He did a great job teaching us the history of each site, and we were impressed that he speaks Mayan, Spanish, and English fluently. His explanations really enhanced the experience. Highly recommended!
The ruins were fabulous, sadly, the tour guides were not very knowledgeable and we missed some important information that could have improved our experience.
Amazing experience with your guide David & driver Martin. Nice tour of Izamal town, adventure in the Ik kil Cenote, good buffet lunch and finally great visit to Chichenitza in the late afternoon.
Izamal a waste of time. Cenote great. Lunch horrible. Terrible buffet. Beverages not included in price. Chicken Itza great. Pablo a good guide. Admission to cenote and Chichen Itza not included in tour price making it an expensive day.
Great experience! Our guide was very good and knowledgeable and the tour was very well organized, I loved it!
Our tour guide, David Echevarría, is a highly regarded tour guide of his Mayan culture. We learned so much on this tour. This one is not to be missed.
David was our guide for the day, and he was both a wonderful host and a very knowledgeable interpreter of the sites and Mayan culture. He provided much of the general background information about Izamal, cenotes, and Chichen Itza as we traveled between the sites, which assured that we also had time at each one to explore points of particular interest to us on our own. The sequencing of the tour placing Chichen Itza last placed us at the site later in the afternoon (from roughly 2:30-4:30). Not having the sun directly overhead helped both with photography and comfort. Do carefully read the "inclusions and exclusions" in the tour description as the combined Yucatan state and Mexican federal admission fees are significant--especially for non-Mexican residents. Also, be aware that Chichen Itza does not permit high-end photo and video equipment. You will not be permitted to bring in telephoto camera lenses or gimble devices for even a cellphone. You can pay an additional fee to bring in and use 'sports/adventure' type video cameras (not drones), but your best option may be a cellphone with a high-quality camera. It is a long day-trip from Merida, but highly recommended.
A nice and well structured tour with lunch included and a fantastic tour guide. Lunch location was nice, food was okay but plentiful. The sights were near!
We had an amazing full-day tour of Chichén Itzá, Izamal, and a beautiful cenote. It was fun, active, and filled with great experiences from start to finish. Alberto provided insightful and educational information about Mayan culture, the history of Yucatán, and the significance of each site we visited. His explanations about Chichén Itzá, Izamal, and the importance of cenotes really brought everything to life. He supported both Spanish and English speakers seamlessly, making the entire group feel included and engaged. A wonderful tour and a fantastic guide — highly recommended!
The van was comfortable and the driver drove well. The food wasn't good and there weren’t lots of options. At the pyramids, I wish the guide would have gone a little further in explaining some of the other parts of Chichen Itza. He really only talked about the main area but there’s many other remains around it that I saw and wanted to understand better. I would say for all the sites it was mostly a quick explanation in the van and then you mostly got to explore on your own which is fine if that’s what you’re into.
David is a fantastic story teller and tour guide. Thank you for the great trip! The Cenote is an incredible experience.
The tour was great. Well organized, on time Sami was great and had loads of historical insights to share with us.
Be ready to wake up early, but it’s worth it. Take some electrolytes too. Wilbert was an amazing guide, fluent in both Spanish and English with amazing fun facts and great story telling abilities.
Our guide and driver were very experienced and knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun but also learned a lot. It was a great trip!
Great trip to the site and centor was also excellent. Long day but well worth it. Would certainly recommend it.
We had a wonderful experience. I traveled with a 10 yo, 11yo, and 14 yo, and we all had such a beautiful time. I appreciated how the tour was set up. We went to Izamal first, then the cenote (Ik Kil), then lunch, and then Chichen Itza. We had an hour at Izamal, another hour at Ik Kil, and then 2 hours at Chichen Itza. The kiddos wanted more time at the Cenote, but I was fine with the amount of time we had. We got really great information at Chichen Itza, and had plenty of time to take beautiful pictures and shop. The items at the market were absolutely beautiful, and I wanted to buy everything. Definitely bring cash. For the cenote, we needed 220MXN, and we needed more cash for tips for the dancers, and servers at lunch. We also needed cash for the tip for the driver and the tour guide. Chichen Itza takes card for entrance, and the people at the markets took card as well. Chichen Itza was free for children (both my 10 yo and 11yo were free). The bus ride was not bad. AC worked well. It was a little hard to hear the tour guide as he was talking about history, but that's only because we were in the back of the bus. I did wish he had a microphone. The kids didn't suffer at all with the bus rides, but that was because we had a deck of cards that they played the whole time. Strongly recommend bringing cards (or Uno)! Also, the bus was equipped with USB ports above every seat. I was running low on battery on my phone, but I only had a USB-C chord. I'd recommend bringing a portable charger, or a USB chord. Overall, we had an outstanding time, and I really only began to feel exhausted 20 minutes before we got off the bus. Those last 20 min on the bus driving through Merida to our drop-off point felt very hard, but after a 10-hour day with 3 kiddos, that's not so bad!
This tour is outstanding!! The cenote experience is out of this world!!! Chichen Itza is also unbelievable!! Izamal is a cute town! Carlos and Jose are a great team!! Carlos explained everything so well!! Would love to have him as a tour guide again!!
Carlos our guide was great and the itinerary was perfect got to see multiple historic sites. Make sure to bring a swimsuit and towel for the Cenotes.
Overall excellent experience! Carlos was entertaining, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Izamal was very cool and we had plenty of time to explore the enormous monastery and the markets. The Ik Kil cenote was amazing and super cool and fun to swim in. We then got lunch at a buffet, which was pretty decent. Finally, our guide in Chichén Itzá was excellent, switching back and forth between Spanish and English so everyone in the group could understand. My only complaint is that we rode in Carlos' car, not a van, so it was pretty tight for driving seven people 1-2 hours between activities.
It was first and only trip in Mexico we had, where guide spoke English. Everything was well planed and organized. The guide told us a lot about history and culture.
A lovely tour in a small group! A very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Amazing sightseeing spots, sufficient time for each stop
we were told we will be spending 2.5-3 hours at Chichen Itza but we didn’t get there until 3:10 and the site closes at 4:45…in addition, the tour guide spent too much time on the information sessions which didn’t end until 3:45. Yes , he did tell us it we can just go around and take photos and just meet at the entrance by 5. I hope he could have let us know at the beginning so we could manage our time there bettee
Tour guide was amazing and overall tour was great only problem was the van. It was way too small and felt very claustrophobic. The seat in the back had windows but were so low that we couldn’t really see anything unless we stretched our necks down. So the only view we had for the whole hour and a half to and from the location was the pavement or the backs of people’s heads.
Javi and Jorge were excellent guide and driver. Javi spoke clearly and the tour was very enjoyable. Jorge navigated the roads (some) under construction very well. Izamel was my favorite... it has an old pyramid there that you can climb and it was so fun! I would highly recommend the tour!
An amazing guide, Birdie, who has a great sense of humour, extremely knowledgeable and very sensitive to all members on the tour. The bus driver was careful and safe as well as willing to communicate with the members of the group.
The Chichen Itza / cenote tour well organized, informative and had comfortable transport. I would certainly recommend!! It was such a great, very memorable day.
Tour guide emilio and busdriver georgeha were professionals. Great fun day at cenote and ruins. Bring pesos for tips. Tickets take applepay .lots of peddling of trinkets at chitzenitza.
The guide speaks without a break between Spanish and English, so an English speaker has to concentrate on the Spanish in order to be ready when the guide reverts back to English. Very informative, but the details of the pyramid are complex and abundant. Tbe cenote was a fun experience, but the walk down to the water barefoot was painfull, as no shoes were allowed. The meal was very good, supplemented with music and two dancers. Ismal visit was OK, but nothing special. I would recommend this tour.
Pablo was a great host and gave excellent historical information in english and spanish. I did think we would be in a bigger van type of vehicle but it was a very small group so the car was fine. My only complaint ( no fault of the company) was 2 of the other patrons consistently were late arriving back for the time we were given to meet back up after exploring on our own..please be considerate of everyones time. Its a long enough day as it is. The food at the restaurant was good as well and additional drinks not included were reasonably priced .
The tour delivered on all the activities promised. It was wise to go to Chichen Itza in the mid-afternoon when the crowds were less than earlier in the day. The guide was very knowledgeable and shared his information in both Spanish and English. We had a full van of about 12 tourists and left Merida by about 8:45 am. Having said the above, I found: 1) the visit to Izamal to be a waste of time. It seemed to take almost an hour to get there and the village is very small with nothing of note to see except the old convent on the hill. Other sites in the Merida area are more compelling. 2) We were taken to a cenote near Chichen Itza to swim. I think it is called Ikil(?) I followed the process of getting a locker and changing into my bathing suit in a small, cramped cubicle within a large, Ladies Room called a "Dressing Room"; proceeding to the outdoor shower area to shower before taking a swim; and then walking to the site of the circular stairs down to the cenote. No one had prepared me for the depth of the wet, stone staircase one must descend to get to the pool below. The cenote is very deep below ground level and the walk down is not for the faint hearted or anyone not sure of foot. I have a slightly deformed ankle which does not permit me total mobility and another lady on our trip had just broken a small bone in her foot before coming to Mexico. The two of us struggled with what to do. I did make it down to the water for a swim (which was wonderful), but she decided most of the way down she could not go any further. The walk back up takes patience as well. No one with a disability associated with mobility should take this tour with the expectation of enjoying the cenote. However, if you do not swim there you have to hang around (perhaps in the snack bar area) for 1 1/2 hours waiting for everyone else. 3) Then we were taken to a buffet lunch in a nearby restaurant. It was about 1:30. The food was fine, but to my and others' surprise, we had to pay cash for our drinks even though the tour claimed the lunch was free. Also, a tip basket was circulated. During our meal we were mildly entertained by two Mexican dancers. As we left they expected some form of financial appreciation as well, standing by the door with their own basket. I just smiled and waved good-bye. 4) We arrived At Chichen Itza at about 3:00. It certainly was worth seeing even with the crowds we did encounter. The walk to the site is lengthy and vendors line the route all along the way. Once there our tour guide explained much about the temple and its calendar importance. I must say however, that in the van and at Chichen Itza our guide provided too much encyclopedic data. Particularly at the end of a long day, folks are tired and not interested in lengthy lectures about the history of the Mayans at Chichen Itza. In my view, he needs to rethink the nature and amount of information he thinks his clients are interested in absorbing during his tour. To top off the frustrations about Chichen Itza, we could not exit near where we purchased tickets. Instead, exiting visitors were routed around back of the entry area, into numerous, connecting stores where more vendors awaited. We moved in a long line through each one until we emerged on the far side of the very large parking lot, and had to walk across it to find our van (which was parked by the entrance). We got back to Merida in the early evening after a very long and challenging day!
I think the cenote at Ik Kil was my favorite part, but it was also amazing to see Chichen Itza. Wilbert was a great tour guide.
Chichen Itza and the cenote are worth seeing, but we would have preferred a more focused visit to Chichen Itza. Everything was rushed and it was difficult to absorb the information. Each lecture was given in Spanish followed by an English translation. So it lost some of the depth and clarity. The lunch was adequate, but forgettable. The tour bus was too crowded to get more than an average grade. The guide was knowledgeable, but the format was mechanical.
