We absolutely loved our tour with Carlos! From start to finish, he was an amazing guide and made our visit to Chichén Itzá so much more interesting and memorable. His English is excellent and he explains everything in such an engaging and easy-to-follow way. What we especially loved was how personal he made the tour. He shared stories about his own life, hobbies and family, and connected them beautifully to Maya traditions, habits and culture. It really gave us a deeper understanding of the Maya way of life, both past and present. Carlos also had lots of additional photos and illustrations on his iPad, which he used to explain the history of Chichén Itzá and the Maya civilization in even more detail. It added so much to the experience and made it much easier to visualize and understand everything he was telling us. And as a bonus: he takes great pictures too! He knew exactly where to stop for the best photos and made sure we had some lovely memories to take home with us. You can really feel that Carlos is passionate about his culture and history and genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. We learned so much while also having a lot of fun. Visiting Chichén Itzá was wonderful but having Carlos as our guide definitely added value our experience. As we walked through the area he spoke about the symbolism behind every building built by the Mayans. He demonstrated the echo effect, took memorable pictures, and shared the history. We walked for about two hours but between conversation and enjoying the view we definitely didn’t feel the time go by. We greatly recommend Carlos as a guide!

Very knowledgeable, easy to understand, iPad images very helpful, good English, friendly, gave a good introduction to the culture, open to questions, didn’t feel rushed, punctual and was there at entrance on our arrival. The guide truly makes the experience for Chichen Itza, they truly help sculpt the story and enrich the history. Listening in to a couple other of the guides we passed, Carlos really was a stand out among others. On top of the fact that he helps you get the ticket, walks you around the grounds and sticks to the shady areas :) He speaks clear English and Mayan - even shared some of the Mayan pronunciation for Chichen Itza. I wouldn't ever tour without a great guide.

Carlos was very helpful in planning our last minute logistics. Very communicative. He was very engaging with how he shared about Chichen Itza in a way that was engaging for our three teens, my husband and I, and my mother-in-law. We especially enjoyed how he brought in personal stories about his family and his Mayan/ Spanish heritage.Seeing pictures on the iPad was a bonus. His English is perfect and we learned so much.

Carlos was a great tour guide. It was wonderful to have a private tour so you could ask questions without being overwhelmed by a group of other tourists. He also bought our tickets in advance, so we didn't have to wait in line when we got there. We met him there at 9:00 am, and I wouldn't get there much later because by 11:00,, there were SOOOO many tour buses from Cancun. Carlos was full of information especially about the Mayan culture and the significance of Chichenitza to his culture. He was also excellent at taking pictures with our iPhone and captured some of our favorites from our whole trip. He never seemed rushed and was excellent at answering our questions.

Carlos gave lots of inside information and had great pictures on his iPad that he shared with us. He also knew the exact places for the best pictures.

Carlos is a lively, attentive and very customer-oriented guide, who not only provides a lot of information, but also impresses with his outstanding photograghic skills. (He suggested spots where to take pictures, has a good eye for motives and is very skilled with the phone camera.) Carlos illustrated his explanations with photos on his tablet and was overall fun and personally approachable. We had a great time.

This was a well worth it trip. Carlos was well informed, provided a ton of information and kept us comfortable. He would walk us over to whatever shade he could find and provide more details about what it was that we were looking at. I highly recommend booking with Carlos Cutiz Tours, you will not regret it. Carlos was so great and fun. I visited Chichén ita with my friend from Mexico and her family who suggested getting a tour guide who could tell us about the site in English. I was apprehensive as I can sometimes find lots of information hard to follow but Carlos made it really fun and exciting, he was genuinely funny and so informative. I also appreciated that he took great photos and kept us in shaded areas for the long talks as I struggle with the heat with being from such a cold country. Muchos Gracias Carlos!
