Great tour to see Chichén Itza. We got there early before the crowds and heat which is the best way to see it! We also had the cenote to ourselves because we got there early. Freddy was a great guide and very knowledgeable you could tell he really loved the history. Would highly recommend this tour!

Itinerary
We will start this great adventure by meeting at the meeting points already mentioned.
We will begin our tour to the archaeological zone of Chichén Itzá, where we will begin to share a general background of the Mayan culture, so we can enjoy and better understand the site.
Our expert guides and Mayan descendants will share the history in a masterful way and help you take the best photos. 60 minutes accompanied by the Guide and 60 minutes of free time. As you will be one of the first to enter the site, these are the main benefits: -No lines -No crowds -You will take the best photos but the most important -You will avoid the intense heat of midday, all our travelers enjoy it the most.
We will begin our transfer to the magical waters of the Xcajum cenote
Swimming in the waters of a cenote is an incredible experience, so you will have the opportunity to cool off in its crystal clear waters. After swimming we will eat in a delicious buffet with the main dishes of Yucatecan gastronomy, but there are also international options and of course vegetarian options.
We will begin our journey to the magical town of Izamal, along the way we will tell you about the general history of this small town.
Izamal better known as the yellow town, you will know its history, but you will also have the opportunity to climb one of the largest temples of the Mayan culture, the temple of Kinich Kak mo, when we go down we go to the convent of San Antonio de Padua where you can have some amazing photos and try the delicious marquesitas.
The time has come to return to the White City, the beautiful city of Merida. So we will start our return to that city.
We will conclude this GREAT experience, at the same meeting points where we picked you up in the morning.

Freddy our tour guide was VERY informative about Chichen itzá. He made the tour very pleasant and fun. He is very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend. Shout out to Abram our driver as well. He got us home safe
The experience was fully worth it, going to Chichen Itzá early was the right call, we left when people were flocking in. The cenote was epic and the rest of the tour was enjoyable. Our tour guide Freddy was very informative.
Our guide, Rosendo was terrific. He is a Mayan descendant and very knowledgeable. He educated us on the Mayan numerology and calendar. I didn't like the fact that the WhatsApp communication didn't respond to my questions?
I had a wonderful experience on the Chichén Itzá day tour with Martin and Freddie! Both the tour guide and driver were very friendly, professional, and helpful. They patiently answered all our questions and shared lots of interesting information throughout the trip. They also gave us useful tips on how to avoid buying fake souvenirs, which I really appreciated! I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit Chichén Itzá. Thank you, Martin and Freddie, for such a great experience!
We had an amazing experience touring Chichen Itza and the beautiful Cenotes! Our guide, Rosendo Pech was very knowledgeable and friendly about Mayan history and culture, making the entire experience educational. Chichen Itza was breathtaking and the Cenotes was a refreshing and magical experience. Everything was well organized and enjoyed our tour. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Yucatan! A wonderful way to discover the history, beauty, and culture of Mexico.
Started early to beat the crowds was a good decision by Rosendo. Extremely informative trip to Chitchen Itza followed up with Q+A's. Cenote was amazing and the buffet was great value. Would definitely recommend booking with these guys 👌
On the bright side: Freddy was a wonderful tour guide. Very friendly, flexible, knowledgable. Abraham at the wheel took us savely to our destinations while we took a nice nap. He is very nice. Room for improvement: The lunch was ok. Nothing special and the free lunch... you end up paying it on the drinks (over 7usd for a lemonade)
Freddie was a great guide and very friendly and knowledgeable. He told us a lot about Chichén Itza and the area that was interesting. Going to Chichén Itza in the morning was helpful to beat the heat and the crowds. The cenote was AMAZING as well!
My tour guide Mr. Freddy Hoil is very professional. he gave me a lot of info not only related to Chichen Itza but to the general mexican culture. The free time is enough and reasonable.
A small group, a comfortable bus, and an excellent guide, Délio, who made the whole experience truly memorable. His explanations were engaging and informative, and we learned so much about the Maya and their culture. We also had the chance to meet people from the local community, swim in a cenote, and enjoy an authentic local lunch. The balance between guided activities and free time was just right. A comfortable, rich and genuinely rewarding day. Highly recommended!
Our guide, Rosendo, and our driver, Jorge, were very professional and personable. Our group were very happy with the tour. We all learned alot about the Mayan culture, the cenote and the town of Isamal... Chichen Itza was the best! We really got our money's worth for sure....
Pick up point for the beginning of the day’s tour was convenient and explained perfectly, and took place exactly on time. Our guide was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. It would’ve been nice if the tour company could have provided a cooler on board of chilled bottled water. The first part of the trip to Chichen Itzá was excellent and the buffet lunch at the cenote was a good experience. Given the high temperatures, I could’ve easily gone straight back to Medida rather than visit Izamal.
The overall experience of the tour itself was amazing! The booking process was easy through TripAdvisor, however, there was missing information (the cost of admission to the cenote and Chichen Itza), and incorrect information (the address of one of the pickup locations).
We went to chichen Iza, a cenote and Izamal. The driver was the guide and he was not very friendly and rushing us. He only talk what he wanted like the Mayan calendar. We didn’t enjoy the tour. The real bad incident happened on our way back to Merida. He was driving very fast on the highway which you don’t pay tolls. The road was very bumpy. Then he got distracted hit speed bump that’s when we hit our head so hard that my sister’s glasses flew off. We had a headache the rest of our vacation.
We had an excellent day touring Yucatán with Guías de Yucatán. Our guide, Rosendo, picked us up promptly and was a great driver throughout the trip. We visited Chichén Itzá and arrived early, which made a huge difference. We beat the crowds! Rosendo was knowledgeable, informative, and clearly passionate about the history and culture of the region. He answered our questions, shared interesting insights, and kept the experience engaging with his sense of humor. In addition to Chichén Itzá, we visited Izamal and the X’Cajum Cenote. What I appreciated most was that this wasn’t just a trip to a famous archaeological site, we also got to see the Yucatán countryside, meet people, and experience more of the region’s character, history, etc. The entire day was a great value for the money. Chichén Itzá is a must-see, but getting to explore so much more of Yucatán made the experience even better. Rosendo was friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to spend the day with. Highly recommended!
Was a great tour, loved the cenote and the knowledge of our tour guide. I personally wouldn’t have minded if we skipped the last part of our tour to Izamal.
Well organized- Freddie, our guide, was great. Enough time at Chichen Itza, great choice of cenote (it wasn’t very crowded at all. Made for a beautiful and tranquil experience. Bring your swimsuits, flip flops and towels. There are changing rooms and lockers at the cenote.) Buffet is just okay. Yellow town was fine- super hot so they drove us first for a 20 minute stop at the convent, and then a 20 minute stop at the temple. Great timing. Got back around 4:30. The only room for improvement is pickup. Id recommended doing hotel pickups since the start time is so early.
Rosendo of Guias de Yucatán was an ideal tour guide, pleasant, fluent in English, and very knowledgeable of Chitzen Itza and its environs. We appreciated the sites more because of his explanations.
My husband and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Freddy was an excellent guide. He was clearly knowledgeable about Chichen Itza and Mayan culture. He gave us some fascinating info on the way there so we could focus on the site while there. He switched back and forth between Spanish and English clearly and effortlessly. It was not fun waking up so early but when we saw the midday crowds and felt the heat, I was glad we had. Freddy also took the time to get excellent photos of every party individually in front of Chichen Itza and ours turned out great! The buffet was just ok with the exception of the cochinita pibil which was quite good. But it was an efficient stop on a busy day. We stayed that night in Valladolid so I can’t speak to the rest of the tour. They were flexible with people, letting one couple take the Tren Maya to Chichén Itzá and providing them with transportation to and from the station, letting us bring our suitcases, and letting people chose between a cenote and Valladolid. Overall, I highly recommend!
Our tour guide (Sammy) was so great. Great energy and so friendly! Sammy made sure we had all our questions answered, knew where to be, were comfortable in the vehicle etc! He is a superstar! We were met on time at the meeting location. The vehicle was a 20 person very very nice van, with comfortable seats, great AC, power outlets, window curtains etc. The driver was wonderful! We enjoyed our time at Chichen Itza and the Cenote. I know the guide was following the itinerary but Izamal should be skipped. That town is sad and not worth the time or stop. Either change it to another location or give more time at Chichen Itza. I looked back at our instructions and didn't see any details about bringing a towel and flip flops to the Cenote. I don't think I missed it. Greater detail about what to bring would be appreciated. Lunch at the Cenote was decent. The cenote was nice. Overall, great company, great guide, great value, but change the itinerary and don't do Izamal. Everyone in our group was ready to go and didn't seem too impressed with Izamal.
Good guide and driver. Chichén Itzá is amazing. The cenote itself is a really nice one, except everyone else knows about it too, so it can be crowded. The food they serve there is barely passable. Izamal and the Convent of San Antonio de Padua were also interesting. Being encouraged to by souvenirs from merchants at each stop is an annoying waste of time.
Chichen Itza is a great site and the main pyramid is incredible. Our tour guide gave us loads of information about Mayan culture and traditions in English and Spanish as we were walking around. It's not enough time to visit every inch of the site but you can see all the key parts. The cenote was fun and refreshing. Then Izamal was a nice way to end the day. You have enough time to climb the Mayan pyramid there and see the main other buildings and take plenty of photos down the yellow walled streets.
My wife and I had a great time on this tour. Seeing the Chichen Itzá is such a beautiful sight that is well preserved. Our tour guide, Rosendo, was awesome and always had a positive attitude. Our group had people from all over the world, English and Spanish speaking (as well as German and French), and Rosendo did a great job of going back between the two main languages. Diego was an awesome driver too and kept the ride smooth the entire time. I also appreciated the balance of walking as a group and later having some free time at all the locations. I would highly recommend this tour to any of my friends and family!!
Cost is transportation only. Pay for chicken itza and cenote swim and lunch and locker. ROosendo an excellent guide.
Very knowledgeable about chicken. Problems with an accident on highway. Very long bizarre detour. Izamel is not worth going to. Too long in sitting in vehicle.
We were collected on time and at the place specified. Our guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Julian was keen to ensure that we were given as much information as possible. Most of the party were Spanish speaking and I think that a because I had a little, he didn’t feel the need to translate as much as others might have needed. Chichin Itza was fascinating. The trip to the cenote was great. Well organised and the food much better than I expected. Izamal was interesting. Long day but worth it!
Freddie our tour guide was very good ! He first spoke in English and then Spanish. Never hesitating switching constantly from English to Spanish. Our driver Diego was very attentive in making sure everyone got on and off the smaller sized coach safely and was very gracious. The tour itself is a must do experience if you are in Mérida. It was a thirteen hour day by the time we got home, with an early morning meet up with our tour in downtown Mérida at 6:25 am, but worth every second. On the second stop at the Cenote, the water was much warmer than expected and we hated getting out. Everything was well worth every peso it cost us and we recommend to everyone that has a free day in Mérida to take this excursion.
Freddy and Mario were excellent. Freddy provided excellent information and allowed us time to explore, and the tour was polished and well run. Getting to Chichen Itza early made it magical.
This was fine but not amazing. We got off to a late start with organizational issues which meant we arrived at Chichen Itza at 8.30 when there were already loads of people. I chose this tour to avoid that. The cenote was excellent though very touristy as well and the buffet lunch was good. A quick stop at Izamal was nice. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly though I found his directing us to a particular vendor at Chichen Itza and his aggressive solicitation for tips at the end of the tour off putting. Chichen Itza was impressive and unfortunately a “must-see” hence the hoards. You gotta get there early
The main tour guide did not have a sense of time. The bus arrived late, and we were not the first groups to get into the site. Before entering, the main tour guide spent about 30 minutes figuring out tickets. He also did not care about us, who need to use credit card to buy tickets. My boyfriend ended up finding out himself. If we have waited for the guide’s instructions, we would be even more late. By the time we entered the site, it was already very crowded and hot. On the way back to Merida, someone was eating cheese with very strong smell. The guide did not have rules for respecting others on the bus. Our guide at Chichen Itza was good. His name was Ronendo (can not remember the name exactly). As a Mayan and who knows Mayan culture and language, he was enthusiastic and explained things well. One thing to really look out for: both of us were very sick after coming back. I had not vomit since 10 but I vomit twice after the tour. Chat told me that the cause was highly likely to be the cenote. We did not even put our mouse or nose into the water, but we had very serious diarrhea and stomach issues.
This was one of the best day tours we have ever been on. Every tour will tell you that they beat the crowds, but this tour really does and we had Chichen Itza not to ourselves but it wasn‘t crowded at all. Our Guide Rosendo did a fantastic job in explaining all the details about the site, the Maya, their believes and customs. He was very knowledgeable and passionate in explaining and answering all questions. We also enjoyed the cenote a lot, again very few people. The last stop was Izamal, we got the information needed and could explore the site on our own which was fantastic. Thanks too to our driver Jason, who brought us safe and sound to the attractions. We can highly recommend this tour!!
A wonderful tour filled with great information. Took all day as advertised. Being there at 6 helps with the heat and the crowds.
Super easy way to see some of the biggest sites in the area. Really appreciated the bilingual tour of Chichen Itza and our time in Ixmal; the cenote was gorgeous and having some free time there was great! It was a little bit difficult at times to understand directions, however, as some explanations were only given in one languages. I also noticed that the number and length of explanations during the Chichen Itza tour differed significantly in one language vs. another - there were a couple times we felt we missed out on some of the details. Still, a great tour and well worth not having to worry about the hassle of traveling from Merida!
What a great and informative trip! The highlight has to be going to Chichen Itza first thing. You won’t realise how important this is until you leave! Freddie is full of knowledge and history about the site and the tour is done in the right order. It is a long a day but it was great for me, a solo traveller to see everything in one day when i wasn’t in the area long. The van was both new and comfortable. With Carlos driving you will be safe and your personnel belongings should you wish to leave them in the van (which we all did) whilst exploring!
This is the experience of a lifetime! Luis, our driver, and Freddie our tour guide, are excellent!!! They made this adventure so fun and easy! We were all treated like family and every detail was considered. Of course, as a Wonder of the World, Chichén Itzá is a spectacular site! We arrived very early to explore and enjoy without the crowds that gather later in the day. We also had a magical experience at a beautiful cenote with our small group of eight people. The last stop was in the town of Izmal, the buildings were painted in colors of the Vatican: yellow and white. The Pope visited in 1993 to honor the Mayans. The Church is built on a Mayan temple site. We also climbed the original steps of a Mayan temple nearby. Freddie explained the significance of the history and culture at each point of interest. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the Mayans, Toltecs and resulting culture that exists today. This excursion is a rich and varied experience for people interested in the history of the Yucatan Peninsula.
As a solo traveller I enjoyed the tour very much! It was simple to meet up with the guide in the morning at the designated meeting spot. As hard as it’s to start at 6 AM, it is well worth beating the crowds at Chichen Itza and being the first at the cenote to swim. Freddie the guide was great and so was the bus driver! Would recommend to others.
The guide and driver made everything easy for us. They speak in both Spanish and fluent English. (I was the only non-native Spanish speaker in my group; however, I speak Spanish pretty well and was given the option of only using Spanish, which I gladly accepted. It was a great experience and opportunity for me to practice my Spanish. The guide speaks very clearly.) They get you to Chitzen Iza before the crowds. Our guide had a sense of humor. The driver always had a smile on his face.
A very informative and fun day at iconic Yucatan places. Ismael and Freddy were fantastic! The cenote was paradise.
This tour was very fun and Freddy was a great host. He brought great energy and I always felt I was in good hands. Just don’t fall for all the tourism traps. Along the tour he introduces you to various vendors who are of indigenous blood and have authentic crafts. The venders he introduces you will try and sell you their crafts at 4x the price of any other vender there. The lunch spot is a super touristic buffet, it was okay. It’s just not the “Mayan Community” it’s trying to portray.
We had an amazing time with our guide Freddy! He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. I went with two friends, and from the start, Freddy had us laughing and joking as if we had all been friends for years. His warm personality and expertise made the trip not only fun but also memorable. I highly recommend Freddy he truly made our adventure unforgettable!
My tour to Chichén Itzá was an incredible experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our fantastic guide, Freddy, and our excellent driver, Luis. Freddy's knowledge of the site and its history was truly impressive. He was especially great at explaining the significance of the sun and moon calendars, making a complex subject incredibly interesting and easy to understand. His passion for the Mayan culture was contagious, and made want to continue to learn on the subject. Truly understood why it's one of the seven wonders of the world! And let's not forget Luis, who was a professional and skillful driver. He got us there fast, but I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the journey. The cenote visit was also a magical surprise— I didn't expect to enjoy it so much, but it was absolutely breathtaking. I recommend taking the jump! This tour exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
We had a fantastic experience with Julian from Guis de Yucatán! He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and full of knowledge. Throughout the tour, he shared a wealth of historical information that really brought the sites to life. His passion for the region’s culture and history was clear, and he made sure we were comfortable and engaged the entire time. Julian’s warm personality and professionalism made the tour even more enjoyable. Highly recommend him if you're looking for an informative and enjoyable experience in the Yucatán!
We had a small, friendly group tour with a family-like atmosphere. Chichen Itza was amazing and a must-see in a lifetime. But it was a pity and a great waste of time that we had too little time to explore and did not walk around the entire area (missed the curved observatory building. X-Cajum cenote was a great place for a family getaway, offering nothing but water fun and buffet food that was good, but the experience felt a bit uncomfortable as I felt watched and it was quite strict. Izamal city was quite striking with the city's colors, which were particularly beautiful on a cloudless day – the yellow and blue were just perfect. The guides were friendly and always willing to help, but due to the language barrier, our conversations and the information shared were about 80% Spanish and 20% English. For me, however, that was fine, as I already had more information than Wikipedia.
What an amazing opportunity to see México's most important pyramid! Getting up early to be first in line made a huge difference. Freddie did a great job preparing us while on the way so that we could get right to the key points while there, and being early meant it wasn't too hot yet as we looked around. Then when it did get too hot, we were ready to go for a swim in the cenote to cool off. Stopping in Izamal to see the contrast between the Izamal temple and the colonial era Franciscan Cathedral where John Paul II visited Mexico in 1993 made a nice way to end the day.
We had a great time during our tour. Kumen our guide was very knowledgeable in Mesoamerican cultures and he shows passion about the Mayas. The driver, Efraín is always on time and drove us safely. The AC in the van was greatly appreciated.
Wanted to see Chichén Itzá and swim in a nearby cenote; we did both. Once in a lifetime trip to see one of the world’s wonders; it didn’t disappoint. Awesome trip and swim.
I had an amazing full-day trip visiting Chichen Itza, a cenote, and Izamal. As someone from Asia, everything was fresh and exciting, but what made it even more special was Freddy, our guide. He’s an awesome storyteller, speaks great English, and has a fantastic sense of humor, which made us feel like we were in for a great day right from the start—and we were totally right! Our driver, Efrain, was also super kind and made sure we were all well taken care of. They both looked after our group of 10 throughout the day. Thanks to this tour, we learned so much about Mayan history, and it was a great mix of culture and adventure. The trip was perfectly planned—starting with Chichen Itza early so we could beat the crowds. By the time we left at 10:30 AM, the lines were huge with tourists waiting for tickets, and buses and cars were lined up everywhere! Definitely ask for Freddy and Efrain when you book this trip. You won’t regret it!
The entire day was fun and informative. Freddy our guide and Efrain our driver were awesome. Freddy conducted the tour in BOTH English and Spanish in a way that kept us all engaged which was so clever. We saw the temples and swam in a cenote. Advise to bring more water than you think you need because it is really hot out there...but worth the trip!
Great experience overall. Booked in advance and was happy with the price. They contacted us the day before to confirm time and pickup location. Bus arrived on time. Chichen Itza was amazing and the guide did a great job of explaining the complexity of the site in an educational and engaging way. We chose the optional buffet lunch, cenote swim, and visit to Izamal. Lunch was delicious (and all you can eat) with a Mexican dancing show for entertainment. The swim was in a beautiful cenote, well monitored by staff and not overcrowded. The trip to Izamal was taken by a different guide who was equally educational and as hospitable as the first. They dropped us back at our pickup location and we were tired but not exhausted, and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Great value and would definitely recommend.
