We had an excellent experience. The cenotes were beautiful and the lunch was one of the best we had on our entire trip - the best tortillas!! Our guide provided tons of local information about the local area, sharing stories and anecdotes along the trip. He also shared information about Merida (where we were staying) which was valuable in having a great experience on our trip. We took up tons of his tips, including seeing the pok-ta-pok in Merida one evening.

Our guide appeared in a rush all day. H e drove like it, interacted with us like it. His interest lacked
Visited 4 cenotes. At the final location had a great lunch. The guides were great and very much supported those on the tour, answered questions, and shared lots of information regarding the trip, 5hings around Merida, and more.
I had an absolutely incredible time! We visited four cenotes at three different sites and they were gorgeous. We were also lucky enough to have a small group - only four of us. Thank you to the guide and driver for the fantastic experience. Definitely bring a good towel and water shoes. Lunch was ok, but great that everything was included in the price.
Jorge, our guide, was spectacular! The service from beginning to end was essential. Recommend to book here when looking for excursion in Merida.
Found reviews for this company online. Saved money by booking direct. Easy to communicate with Viacom office or what’s app. Alejandra in the office is professional and amazing. Jair was fantastic for this tour. Watched our belongings and even took amazing photos for us to document our day. For the price I could not be happier!!!
My son and I had an amazing time!!! Thanks to our tour guide Mauricio. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and a great sense of humor. I will be coming back again.
Fantastic tour guides, went above and beyond to make it a wonderful and safe experience. Every cenote was gorgeous in a different way, and all were very much worth seeing. The third cenote had an immersive projection showing how they were created. This tour company was super reliable and professional, with the friendliest staff I’ve ever met. I would absolutely recommend them and I would go again in a heartbeat.
We had such a fun day on the cenotes tour with Mauricio ("Maui")! He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made sure everyone had a great time. He explained each stop, drove safely, and even took photos for us throughout the day so we could simply enjoy the experience. We also had a really fun group, which made the day even better.
Mauricio and Jorge gave us such a stress-free and fun experience! Mauricio was so kind and made sure we enjoyed our time while also relaxing with no worries. He was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of cenotes. The transportation was clean and smooth. I highly recommend this tour for anyone! My friend and I are two female travelers and we felt very safe and taken care of the entire experience. The cenotes we went to were also very beautiful and the food was great, there were options to relax on a couple of the properties we visited when we weren’t swimming in the cenotes which was very nice. 10000/10 experience, thank you Jorge and Mauricio for treating us as family!
Worth every penny. Cenote Uinic & Santa Rosa are impressive!
We booked two private tours with Viajes Colibrí Yucatán and we had Mauricio as our guide both days. I’ll say it plainly: he is the reason this trip was as special as it was. We chose to pay extra for private tours and it was absolutely worth every peso. Booking & Office Experience We planned ahead and booked both private tours nearly two months in advance — easy to do, and it gave us total peace of mind. The office team was professional, polite, and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. All coordination happened seamlessly over WhatsApp, and we were able to pay a deposit via PayPal in advance so we didn’t need to scramble for cash. For travelers coming from the US, that kind of frictionless booking process matters a lot. Tours are offered in both English and Spanish — ours were conducted in English, and Mauricio was completely fluent and natural throughout. Day 1 — Tour Privado 4 Cenotes Plus (Homún) We left Mérida early and arrived at the Santa Rosa park ahead of the crowds — we were the only ones at the first cenote, which felt like having it to ourselves. Mauricio helped us get photos, kept the energy high, and his enthusiasm was contagious from the start. But what really set him apart was his depth of knowledge. He walked us through the geology of how cenotes form, their sacred role in Mayan culture and religion, and the history of the Homún region. What made the tour so well-designed was the variety across all four stops: Yuum Kimil (open-air), Santa Rosa (cavern), Pool Uinic (crystal-clear and blissfully quiet), and San Antonio (serene, family-run, untouched). The first cenotes are managed by established operations; the later ones are smaller family businesses with a rawer natural beauty. That progression felt intentional and made for a richer, more layered day. Throughout both days we crossed paths with other Viajes Colibrí group tours running simultaneously — and every single staff member we encountered, across every group, was warm, polished, and professional. It’s clear this company runs a well-oiled operation. Their group tours looked fantastic too, and if you’re traveling solo or want a more social experience, those are clearly in great hands as well. Day 2 — Tour Privado Chichén Itzá Premium → Ek Balam, Cenote Ik Kil & Izamal Chichén Itzá was unexpectedly closed by the government on our tour day — completely outside anyone’s control. What impressed us was how Viajes Colibrí handled it: they reached out proactively via WhatsApp with multiple options, including a full reschedule or refund. We chose to switch the archaeological site to Ek Balam and we are so glad we did. The pyramid is stunning — and unlike Chichén Itzá, you can actually climb it. Mauricio came fully prepared with an iPad loaded with maps, hieroglyphic references, and historical images. He taught us about Mayan ball game rituals, the carvings, and the site’s history in a way that felt like having a private professor. He even climbed up to help us get a group photo from the top. From there we swam in the legendary Cenote Ik Kil — the open-air sacred cenote with vines cascading down the walls that you’ve seen in every travel magazine. Absolutely breathtaking. Then a fantastic buffet lunch at Restaurante Xaybe’h before finishing the day in Izamal. Mauricio shared the history of Mexico’s Pueblos Mágicos program and the story behind why every building is painted yellow and white — tracing back to Pope John Paul II’s historic 1993 visit. The plaza, the convent, and the pyramid of Kinich Kakmó are all gorgeous. I could have stayed all day. Bottom line: Book the private tour — it’s worth the upgrade. Ask for Mauricio by name. The office is easy to work with, WhatsApp coordination is smooth, PayPal payment means no cash headaches, and you can book months ahead with confidence. If anything unexpected happens, they handle it with professionalism and genuine care. Couldn’t recommend them more highly.
very local, not turistic at all trip to 4 cenotes. delicious lunch at one of them. our guide gave a lot of interesting facts on the way to the cenotes and cared a lot about our belongings so that everyone could swim at the same time.
Incredible guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. Shared lots of local knowledge, very safe driver, and didn't feel rushed at any point! Would do this again!
Juan and Diego were wonderful tour guides. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The pacing of the tour was good, and food was better than many other tours I’ve taken. The tour bus picked us up on time.
Que curada!!! This was an incredible experience!! You must go here! The tour guide, Tony, was incredibly kind and helpful! Bilingual as well. Super insightful on the city's history and about the existence about the cenotes. Each cenote was unique and so much fun. My absolute favorite was the Cenote of Santa Rosa! The area itself was like a resort, with two connecting cenotes that were both beautiful in their own ways! There are even souvenir vendors here and adorable dogs and cats. I highly recommend this tour! So worth the price, and lunch is included at the Cenote of San Antonio! Which was a luxurious pool right above it in which you can also swim around in. Wonderful!!
We had a good day with very diverse cenotes. We started at a rustic cenote with very basic amenities, which is why they suggested we come wearing the bathing suite already. Our guide Toni told us to take nothing but our phones, we got the swim wests and off we went. We had it nearly to ourselves which was appreciated. After we had sufficient time to swim, we went in our swim suit on the short ride to the next cenotes. These were very different, on the grounds of an old hacienda, very touristic with snacks and bars and hammocks. We could swim through a tunnel that connected the two (don’t bring your phone if it’s not water resistent). Afterwards we went to another small cenote directly next to the lunch restaurant, where they had a few outdoor showers and we could change in the bathrooms. Food was ok, we could have lived without it, but they had vegetarian and vegan options. We enjoyed the day, especially because of Toni who was super helpful and professional throughout the whole experience. Bring water shoes and water protection for your phone if you have it and not much else, for most of the trip it was just us in the bathing suite with our phones.
We're from northern Canada. Seeing not only the cenotes but real Mexico was life changing. The driver and guide could not have been better or nicer. Thank you.
Really great experience. Juan was an awesome tour guide--very knowledgeable and fun to be around. Definitely recommend!
Annel (tour guide) and Daniel (driver) were fantastic. Each of the cenotes was very different, all refreshing. At the second stop, we got to swim through a natural underground tunnel which was a highlight of our trip. Food was great, too. Highly recommend!
We had a great day. The whole tour was very well planned, we felt safe and the 4 Cenotes, especially the two at Santa Rosa, where gorgeous. Thank you for the nice memories.
Comfortable van ride to 3 locations. Beautiful cenotes, which our small group of six had all to ourselves. Thanks, Juan- muy amable.
A nice day. Good guide. Interesting and fun to compare different places. Food was tasty. Overall good
Excelent planning, knowledge and attention. Jair and Pablo are second to none. The cenotes were an incredible experience. Lunch was very good and the venue and service of the local people was excellent
This tour was well run, on time and the transportation was comfortable. The first cenote we visited a small family run cenote that was really interesting. Our group was the only one there and we really enjoyed that visit. The second/third cenotes (they are connected by a tunnel which unfortunately was closed that day) were much more commercialized and extremely crowded. There were two busloads from a cruise ship there and it was so loud it wasn't very enjoyable. However on the positive side the tour guide from the cruise ship gave a lot of interesting commentary and told us the history of the cenote and even had the cenote operator turn off all of the lights for a few minutes which was really cool. Our tour guide was efficient but really did not engage with us very much. The last cenote was fine but by then I think we cenoted out! Lunch was good and we did enjoy having some time to lounge by the outdoor pool at the last cenote. If I had to do it over again I would probably try to go on my own and go to less commercialized cenotes.
A really excellent day! We loved each of the 4 cenotes — each unique and lovely in their own ways. The Our guide Mauricio was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the region, the history, and the people of the Yucatán peninsula. He also always looked for things that might interest us along the driving route. Highly recommend this trip with Viajes Colibri.
We had a great bilingual guide Mauricio. He knew a lot and was very attentive and always there to help or to explain something. The Cenotes itself were beautiful, especially the first one.
The cenotes were our KEY experience of the Yukatan. We had a lovely trip with this company. Our guy was awesome: caring and funny. The cenotes are terrific! You should bring water shoes. Don't get too excited about the lunch, as it is very mediocre. But that's not really the point, anyway. It was fun to travel with other folks and get to know them. A really fun day that was well-structured and light-hearted.
A fabulous day of Cenotes with the family. The kids had a blast! And so did the adults! Our guide Mauricio and our driver were great too!
It was a nice day. The cenotes were fantastic. The guide was excellent. I was the only native English speaker and could understand his Spanish but he made sure I understood everything. He expertly handled a very difficult situation with a 20 year old girl on our tour who decided that having 10 tequila shots was a good idea.
We usually 'go it alone,' but we're glad to have taken this tour. It was relaxed, informative and well planned and managed. Our guide was patient, kind and friendly. The third cenote (sorry, can't remember the name off hand), was excellent and the short film was awesome. We visited the 4 cenotes and all of them and swam around. The lunch was good local food at Santa Rosa. I would recommend this to anyone. There were family's all seemed to have a great time
The last cenote we went to, San Antonio, was a disappointment. It lies underneath a recreation area of pools where the music is turned up so loud you can hear it clearly inside the cave. This makes a potential experience in nature very un-nature like! In addition, the lights in the cave are harsh and there is nothing interesting to see in this cenote. The food was adequate.
Every cenote we visited was amazing. My favorite one was Pool Uinic, since we were allowed to swim without a life jacket (I understand you need to wear a life jacket in all the others for safety, not complaining about it). Juan was our guide and he really enriched the experience with his knowledge and calm demeanor. The bus was comfortable, the included meal was delicious (you can pick among a number of dish options). Overall a great experience, would 100% book again with Viajes Colibrí and recommend it to anyone who visits Mérida.
This was by far one of the coolest experiences we did in Mérida! The cenotes are beautiful, calming, and make you feel rejuvenated after a swim. Juan was our guide, and he was very nice, knowledgeable, and professional. If you want to do something that is unique to Mérida, look no further!
This tour was AWESOME we had a great time the van was comfy. We enjoyed the lunch , the people and the guides. The driver was good at driving here and we felt safe the whole time
excellent tour! All the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely take the tour if you have the time, every location was beautiful and the meal at the last location was great.
Lovely trip. Well organized and professional. The guide was knowledgeable and considerate. I recommend.
It was very fun. I loved the cenotes. Everyone was so friendly! We went to 4 cenotes and they were all cool. The 1st one was my favorite.
Amazing experience. The cenotes were amazing and refreshing and very unique. If you are going to book this trip make sure to get on the bus at the first stop and sit as close to the front as possible. The back seat is very cramped and you don’t get to enjoy the view on the way to the cenotes. The lunch was amazing and the guides were great.
We had such a great experience as a family (2 kids aged 10 and 13) with Mauricio and Victor! I won't say more on the 4 cenotes no to spoil the experience of future travelers but it is really worth it. They are all very different. Lunch was very good as well. Have a big breakfast before coming.
My family and I (one child and 2 adults) had a wonderful time. The guide and driver were very helpful and friendly. The cenotes were beautiful and the lunch was delicious.
Amazing! We were taken to both popular and less known cenotes. We watched a movie in the 3rd one, it was magical!
Awesome day swimming 4 Cenotes! Michelle was a great tour guide, Joni was a great driver who got us everywhere safe and sound. San Antonio not only had a great Cenote but excellent food as well. The day was fun, relaxing, and refreshing. Thank you Viajes Colibri for the great service and excellent day!!!! My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves and we’ll be back and we will use your agency.
This cenote tour was beyond magical!! MICHELLE, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about Mayan history, Yucatán’s geography, its culture, its small towns, its beaches, and everything else in between. She was so funny, kind, sweet, and attentive. It was so much fun swimming in the such beautiful and crystal clear waters. And the caves are such a marvel.
Great guide and value, but underwhelming cenotes. If you have never been in a cenote, this would be a good introduction. Having been to several before, these four were just ok. They were generally small without much to explore. The plus was our guide, Jair, who was friendly and prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. 5 out of 5 stars for him! Other plusses were that there were just four in our group and we had 3 of the cenotes all to ourselves. Not sure if that’s because we beat the crowds, or if it’s just that they weren’t popular. Either way, it was a good day, just wish the cenotes themselves would have been better.
Mauricio and George were excellent!! The tour was well explained and so much fun!! Viajes Colibri it's a most recommended company I will definitely will use there services again and recommen 🦋💦💙
Beautiful tour! Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, entertaining and reliable. Also a nice assortment of cenotes, one that was more natural and three that were developed more but also more scenic. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Absolutely amazing. Lots of time to swim and take photos without feeling bored. Diverse selection of cenotes, delicious lunch! Perfect timing from start to finish. Lovely guides. I'll book again!
The driver and guide were both exceptional. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend to anyone wanting to go the cenotes.
A very fun day enjoying swimming in four cenotes with a knowledgeable and endearing tour guide, Jair. He was fully bilingual and an enthusiastic photographer for all the participants. The cenotes are beautiful— some underground and others exposed. The lunch was also delicious. Great value!
