The Lodge At Uxmal

Nice hotel, quiet in the middle of the jungle. Many pools and friendly stuff. The rooms are a little bit outdated but is okay, even though the prices are a bit high.

A nice place but unfortunately the management refuse to install a decent wifi. Almost impossible to get online from the rooms which nowadays is absolutely non acceptable. Hopefully they will begin to take us coients serious soon because the place is beautiful.

We've stayed at Hacienda Uxmal on prior visits, but on this trip we wanted to check out The Lodge. Honestly, it's a bit less expensive than the Hacienda, so we kind of had low expectations. However, we really enjoyed our two night visit. Our room was nice, we had a king bed, AC, a small fridge, TV, and a good sized bathroom. It was a very comfortable room for us. Breakfast was included in our rate and we were both impressed with the quality of the food. Although we didn't have dinner either night, we did enjoy some excellent cocktails. I especially want to mention the service, the staff was great. Every staff member we interacted with was efficient, friendly and helpful. Overall, a wonderful visit for us. The only disappointment we experienced was seeing how slow the hotel was in mid-December. We couldn't help but think that people are missing out on what we feel is a great Yucatan experience. And by the way, the Uxmal Mayan site is our favorite and we've visited all the major sites.

This hotel was a huge letdown for us and absolutely does not belong in the four-star category. We booked the main hotel but were downgraded upon arrival to The Lodge, a clearly outdated infrastructure. The room was old and worn, with a refrigerator that made a noise as loud as a car engine idling inside the room. The bathroom was poor: lukewarm water in the shower, barely any pressure, and the provided “shampoo” felt like diluted soap. There was no sense of comfort or quality. The swimming pool was dirty and full of leaves, clearly not maintained. The Wi-Fi barely worked in the room, which is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. The staff spoke hardly any English and provided no information at check-in—you had to figure everything out on your own. The only positive aspect is the location directly across from Uxmal, but that is truly the only thing this hotel has going for it. It relies solely on its location and offers a poor experience lacking any real hospitality. Definitely not recommended. Absolutely not worth the money.
