We stumbled on this wonderful restaurant passing by. Saw they offer a breakfast buffet with all the fixings for 199 pesos. Since hubs and I weren't super starving, I told Victor Polanco the waiter if I could see the menu. He nodded and returned with it. Since I've been having Chilaquiles non stop on our Mexico ventures, I opted for a desayuno americano. I asked Victor about one certain dish and he explained it in great length which I decided Imma order it. Hubs ordered the yogurt, fruit and granola. Victor gave him an option of strawberry or vanilla yogurt. Since I had my coffee at our place I ordered papaya juice. I asked Victor where I can buy the typical blouses in which he provided a map and highlighted main attractions. Hernan appeared to retrieve hubs plate and asked how everything was. Now I don't know about lodging here but the restaurant and service is top notch. Service/attentiveness 10 Victor 10 Hernan 10 Highly recommend

Old style hotel close to the city centre. We only spent here one night and overall it was ok. The rooms have the internal court window facing so it can get noisy and for some reason they don't switch off the lights till 3am so if you are light sensitive this is not the place form you. Good buffet breakfast
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel in Mérida. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was great. The breakfast buffet was good with a nice variety of options, and the staff was friendly and welcoming during our stay. One of the best things about this hotel is the location. It is very close to the city center, which made it easy to explore Mérida and walk around the historic area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Mérida.
I’ve been invited twice in the past to experience the buffet in this hotel. We’ve been highly recommended about the food and the restaurant ambience. Finally we could make it on Valentine’s Day. They have this special time full of decorations and warm, welcoming for both guests and external customers. I definitely will come back and I hope next time will be for a dinner time with my loved one. I am amazed with a warmth, quality service and above all the smile and kindness that every single employee and waiter shows to the customers while you are having this great experience thanks Hernand for inviting us to experience this restaurant.
Hotel Del Gobernador – perfect if you don’t enjoy sleeping, breathing, or daylight. If you’re looking for the ideal place to not sleep, not breathe properly, and avoid natural light at all costs, Hotel Del Gobernador is for you. Sleep is rendered impossible by extremely loud guests who seem convinced they are the only people in the hotel. Slamming doors, rolling suitcases at all hours, people shouting down the corridors — it’s a full acoustic experience. Even with earplugs, the noise cuts right through. Who needs rest anyway? Fresh air? Overrated. Our room had a single window facing the inner courtyard, meaning zero ventilation. After a shower, moisture just hangs in the air indefinitely, creating a wonderfully moldy, musty atmosphere. Oxygen is clearly optional here. Because of the way the hotel is built, many rooms receive almost no daylight. Dark, gloomy, and mildly depressing — great if that’s the vibe you’re after. Amenities are on a strict rationing system: one roll of toilet paper in the tiny bathroom. We asked for an extra small towel, which mysteriously disappeared the very next day, promptly removed by housekeeping. Efficiency at its finest. Credit where it’s due: the men at reception were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. In short: overrated. Unless your holiday goal is insomnia and stale air, I strongly recommend you avoid this place and keep walking.
