We stop at Bedern Passage, a narrow, unassuming alley with a dark history of orphaned children, mysterious deaths, and the lingering spirits said to roam this hidden corner of York.
We had a guide by the name of Lou and he was very engaging and theatrical with his storytelling and had plenty of knowledge to share. We had a moment where some drunk people came to try and ruin the experience for us but Lou dealt with them very well and we were able to continue an enjoyable ghost tour of York. Highly recommendfor those seeking something a bit different.

This was a brilliant tour of the city , Lou did an amazing job! He had so much knowledge and kept us engaged the whole time ! How Lou remembered all that information was so impressive!
One of our party had a medical episode right at the start of the tour. The tour guide saw what was happening and didn’t even acknowledge us. Didn’t check if everything was ok or even if we needed an ambulance or anything. We ended up losing the guide in the end after her episode had passed. There was nothing to distinguish them from the crowds of people so no way of catching them up. No contact details were given incase anyone became separated from the group. Whilst it wasn’t the tour guides fault we had a problem, the fact that there wasn’t even an acknowledgment was. Very disappointing

Indeed it was the 31st of October so I guess the biggest day for ghost tours at the year, BUT way too many tours at the same time - you could hear the same stories from three guides at the same time but out of sync… Too many in the crowd and strangers could just join without paying which they did - waste of money!

Disgusting example of corporate profiteering - our tour was totally overbooked. Our poor guide was brand new (not an actor) and hadn’t had time to prepare himself, although the other half of our group was taken by an actor. We had to follow other groups round, stand outside tescos and in other bizarre venues because there wasn’t enough space for us. Actually shocking these tickets were sold

We did a York ghost tour on Halloween night, and despite how insanely busy it was, our guide was brilliant. He was quick on his feet, adjusted the route on the fly to avoid the crowds, and kept a great pace throughout. He was really funny, and the mix of spooky stories and proper York history was spot-on. Definitely recommend.
What a fantastic ghost tour. Ellie our guide is such a brilliant story teller, she is so funny and amazing at keeping the group engaged. It was a larger group with it being Halloween night but she did a great job at keeping everyone together and engaged. Great value for money and I loved hearing all of the different stories and seeing the different parts of York in the dark. Would recommend.
Myself and my partner did the ghost tour with tour guide Ellie last night on Halloween and it was fantastic. Ellie is so funny and manages to keep the group well engaged with her amazing story telling. It was fantastic to see the different parts of York in the dark and hear the different stories. Such an interesting and spooky experience (even for those who don’t believe in ghosts)! We did the walk during York’s ghost week which I think was the perfect time. Our guide was lovely and a great storyteller, and she checked up on us at every stop on the walk and gave us chance to sit down if we needed to. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting York, especially during the Halloween season!
Such a great couple of hours walking around York at night hearing the history and ghost stories. Our guide was great entertainment and fun to be around. We didn’t want the tour to finish and to keep going and hear even more about York. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in ghosts and history.

Absolutely brilliant tour to end a day in York, Ellie our guide was very thorough, funny and gave an amazing run down of the ghost stories and history of the main haunted parts of York. It was also during the Night which made it seem extra spooky. Also even though it was a decent sized group we could still hear everything clearly. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone and was well worth the money.
Had the pleasure of joining Frank on his first tour for this operator- he was excellent! Really funny in parts, told a good yarn. It was the perfect mix of spooky and banterful. Top marks to the random person in full Halloween costume to really set the tone at the start.

Slightly misleading information re meeting point 23 Shambles should be removed. Having said that the guide phoned us and put us right. Lou, our guide was very informative and very interesting to listen too. One very minor criticism is that Lou walked at quite a fast pace and some members of our party found it hard to keep up. We really enjoyed our tour with George on Sunday night. He was very entertaining and we learnt lots of new facts about the city. He made sure to speak to and involve everyone in the group and even stayed and chatted to us after the tour ended. Would definitely recommend (hope to see you at Fountains Abbey George!)

George took us on a very entertaining ghost tour around York. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. I lived in York for three years and went to places I’d never been to and heard stories I didn’t know. Very enjoyable for adults and teenagers. This tour probably too long (2 hours) for smaller kids. Strongly recommended.
We really enjoyed this tour with Lou. He was amazing. His stories were fantastic and he even went further explaining his own research into the stories. I would highly recommended this tour.

I dont know what we actually expected and sadly this tour didnt deliver on our low expectations! The tour was the quietest tour with the fewest people and with a guide not dressed up... unlike others we saw, so for us, It felt less engaging or believable as no effort made. The information about various locations was then spoilt by references to the 21st century so the previous ghostly story was lost. It was too long in our opinion!
It is a very enjoyable 2 hour walk around York with interesting ghost stories. Ellie was very entertaining and managed to keep the interest of three young teenage boys.
The tour was OK! Some of the stories went on for too long and were not that interesting, so I got bored. We left before the tour ended. Disappointed!
Have been on ghost tours in York previously so expected a guide who was dressed up and theatrical - sadly not. Amiable enough young woman but looked like your average student. Did enjoy some of the fascinating facts along the way but the stories tended to drag on. Frankly I got a bit bored. Disappointing.
