Wizard Walk Of York - Winner Best Tour & Experience Of The Year

We genuinely can’t recommend this experience enough, we came to York for 3 days and did various activities but the Wizard Walk of York is definitely the one we’ve been raving about the most! It was so well organised and our wizard was brilliant at making sure that all the children were involved. He kept everyone entertained the whole way round and our children (aged 10 and 8) kept saying they didn’t want it to end as they were having so much fun! Saying that, so were we - we booked it thinking it was just for the children but our wizard was so funny and had us laughing the whole time too so it really was great for the whole family. This was the highlight of our weekend away and we are so glad we booked it, well worth the money!

We booked the Wizard Walk of York for our daughters birthday, and it couldn't have gone better. The Wiard made a real effort to make her feel special all vening, and when he got the whole group to sing Happ Birthday to her, it was a moment she won't forget. e was full of character and great fun for children ad grown-ups alike, and you could tell he genuinely cres about giving families a night to remember. Thankyou for making her birthday so magical. We'll definiely be back for another wizard wand-er!

This was amazing. We booked for ourselves and our twin granddaughters, one who is very much into Harry Potter. We were all very excited when our wizard arrived. The tour lasted for just over an hour, and was a mixture of comedy and tricks. Our wizard was great with the children, but also kept the accompanying adults involved and amused.

Fantastic guide, kids thoroughly enjoyed this tour and the magic and jokes! Would recommend to anyone whose family enjoys magic.

Our Wizard interacted very well with both children & adults. It was great fun & our little one loved it.

What a wonderful experience. We all enjoyed, especially the children. Our wizard (green) was great. Very funny. His magic tricks were great. Group was quite large but he ensured children were all at the front so they could see everything.

After reading the other reviews, I thought I had to give this a try and I’m so glad I did! What an end to our trip to York. I wanted something fun and different for the kids (9&11), they got fully involved and were engaged with our wonderful wizard, both chosen to take part in magic tricks! He was great interacting with the kids! as parents we laughed along with good ol dad jokes. We had a pleasant walk around York town, round some streets we’d not been through. Highly recommend!! We all left happy and amused, highlight of the trip for the kids - quote my cheeks hurt from all the laughing!!

We are regulars to York, but this was an absolutely brilliant way to enjoy the city from a different perspective! The Wizard (Green one) was fantastic- engaging and hilarious for both kids and adults alike. Our kids well impressed and us parents chuckled the whole way round. Absolutely brilliant, couldn’t recommend more!

Absolutely fantastic!. The wizard was so good, so engaging. And he made sure that all the children got to the front, so they all felt included. It was chuckles all the way, and it was the topic of conversation for the rest of the night back at the hotel. Our grandson, dressed up in his Harry Potter outfit and could not have enjoyed himself more. The wizard even posed with every child that wanted a photo. We would certainly be doing it again. It was worth every penny. Thank you wizard of york.

We had the best time on the Wizard Walk of York, we went as a group, mainly 5 to 7 year olds and parents and children all had a blast. Highly recommended.

We did The Wizard Walk of York as a family and oh my goodness, what an absolute gem! From the second the Wizard appeared the kids were hooked. He is SO funny proper laugh out loud jokes for the kids and the adults, lots of silly magic, and he has this amazing way of keeping everyone engaged the whole time. We wandered all through York hunting for magical creatures. No scary ghost stories at all just lots of silliness and magic! The scenery is just beautiful anyway but seeing it through a wizard hunt makes it even more special. The kids loved getting their little wand kits and the interactions with lots of chance to join in, answer questions, do spells. They were laughing throughout. And you get a photo with the Wizard at the end. It’s clearly been made just for children and families, not just an adult tour that allows kids. You can tell he’s brilliant with kids. Winner of Best Tour for a reason! We laughed the whole way round. If you’re visiting York with kids aged around 5-10 (honestly older would love it too) book this. Absolutely fantastic - thank you Wizard!

Despite it being a very soggy day in York the Wizard managed to keep us happy, amused and the kids amazed with his tricks. A fun way to spend an hour or two with a few ‘Dad jokes’ to take away too. The tour guide was great and kept everyone included on the tour together and amused.

Wow, what a magical fun experience for both Adults and children. Our Wizard kept us laughing all the way through with his funny jokes and sprinkles of magic. So pleased we booked would highly recommend.

Excellent tour ideal for families. It's aim is a general walk about centre if York so you get to see the area...rather than a long talk about the history. All wrapped up in magical jokes and stories. Aimed at the kids but entertainment for all the family. Kids absolutely loved it and the wizard is very 'kind, funny and friendly ' according to our youngest. Was a highlight for them. We adults enjoyed the experience too. Definitely recommend if you have kids visiting York. Excellent.

Utterly untasted walk round your with so much joy and wizardry whimsy you’re guaranteed to have a good time! Not a locations and history tour BUT absolutely brilliant way to wander though York!

I booked for the kids and enjoyed it myself as much or even more. We all found Phoenix the wizard very funny l and the younger two liked the magic tricks along the way. It was a nice walk around the streets but don’t expect a tour of York/information about York itself - that’s not what this is. The wands were a nice touch too. Thank you so much Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 🪄

We did not stop smiling from start to finish! All the children were engaged and somehow it was funny for children and adults! It has just the right amount of walking and talking. Highly recommend this tour!!

Honestly the best thing we’ve done on our holiday. My cheeks haven’t recovered yet from laughing and my son had a blast. The host was welcoming, and very witty. We saw some really cool parts of York. Would 100% recommend for anyone with young children, or indeed a love for puns.

Wonderful price for a wonderful tour. Hilarious for kiddos and great little tour of the city.

Excellent, really enjoyed it

My daughter and I were lucky to join new Wizard Oberon's first ever walk and we loved it. Oberon was fantastic and his cloak well purple what can I say amazing! He was a brilliant Wizard full of stories, anecdotes and magic keeping the kids and adults entertained. The walk goes into quieter areas of the city too which we didn't expect and was a pleasant addition as York can be very busy at times. Oberon was very engaging and my daughter loved it especially when chosen as his assistant for a spot of magic. We would highly recommend!

Would definitely recommend this tour and would go again! The guide was amazing my little girl loved it at the age of four i was worried if it would be too old but she was so engaged! Great tricks and enthusiasm!

Wow, just wow. We went as a family of 4 with kids 6 and 8 and we were all in absolute stitches from start to finish. The perfect balance of movement, magic and none stop fun - I couldnt recommend this tour any higher. Our children are still talking about it weeks later. Its pitched perfectly with jokes that hit on two levels and genuine magic 🎩 ✨️ I was also impressed with how masterfully the wonderful wizard encouraged and involved every child, taking the time to connect with the shy ones and having fun with our super confident talkative eldest in a way that made her feel great and us proud parents. Also a shout out to how well and politely they manage the public, a wizard doing tricks attracts attention but the tour takes you to quiet nooks and crannies and the wizard manages any passers by (or stoppers and watchers) with absolute grace so it feels a private tour while also not feeling awkward for anyone (public or tour alike). Genuine, good natured fun.

What a fantastic wizard walk, we had a ball. It was perfect for our 8 year old, he absolutely loved it, as did we. Fun, interactive magic for the small wizards, jokes for the adults. Highly recommended.

The Wizard tour was perfect. We took our grandson aged 9 - he loved it and we did too. His mixture of comedy, jokes and tricks was excellent and he relates so well to children. The tour involves visiting some quirky corners of York but I can’t say we learnt a lot of history but who cares? We had a ball!

I went on this tour with my two grandyaged 7 and 8. We had the best time from the start. Our guide was brilliant, very funny and engaging. The kids were laughing the whole time, they just loved it. I thought it was pitched just right for the age groups and was just the right length of time. Excellent!

My 11 year old couldn't stop laughing throughout this silly, wonderful, and hilarious tour of York. This particular wizard was a fan of puns, and even though I am not someone who generally likes them, I still found him endearing and funny. Definitely had jokes in there for the adults as well as the littl'uns. Great interaction with the children who were engaged throughout. The younger children in the crowd were equally charmed. Highly recommend!

Brilliant from start to finish, kept the kids engaged and entertained throughout! Anyone who can keep them occupied and walking for over an hour must be magic! If you’re visiting York with kids you must do this tour!

Really good fun. I was a bit worried my daughter (5) might struggle to stay engaged, but the Wizard kept the children engaged throughout and she had a fantastic time. Plenty of magic for the kids, and enough deliberately awful puns to keep the adults entertained too. Really well done, great with the children, and one of the highlights of our day in York. Definitely worth doing.

It's for children but with great jokes for the adults. The children enjoyed finding the animals fantastic guide.

There is no correlation between the tour and the location. We thought there would be some tying in with the city of York and the tour

A brilliant bit of magic for little wizards! We visited York to do the Wizard Walk of York with our niece and nephew, Molly and Freddie, and they were absolutely in their element! They loved every second of this spellbinding walk around the historic streets of York. The walk is packed with dad jokes, magical tricks, fun tales and plenty of opportunities to get involved, which kept the children entertained from start to finish. It’s a fantastic activity for little ones around 5–10, although I think any fan of magic and wizardry would enjoy it. It was such a lovely bit of whimsy and magic to finish off the summer holidays. Teddy is still a little young to fully appreciate the experience, but it was great that he could come along too — the walk is pram-friendly and under-3s can join in, making it a great activity for the whole family. Molly and Freddie were still talking about all the magic afterwards, which says it all! If you’re visiting York with children, I’d definitely recommend adding the Wizard Walk to your plans. A fun, silly and genuinely magical way to explore some of York’s historic streets. We attended as a PR visit, but all opinions are our own.

It was fun for all the family, very interactive and well thought out and planned. Funny, tricks to keep the kids guessing and family friendly joke. My 7yr old quoted 'it was Great!'

Such a magical experience! We did the Wizard Walk of York with our children aged between 8 and 12 and they all absolutely loved it. We had Viridian the Green Wizard leading our tour and he was brilliant, really funny, entertaining and so engaging with the kids from start to finish. There were plenty of jokes for the adults too, so it was genuinely enjoyable for the whole family, with a little sprinkle of magic along the way! Such a fun and different way to explore York and definitely something we’d recommend to other families.

I thought this was absolutely brilliant and throughly entertaining. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it didn't disappoint and was pitched perfectly in terms of time and information for our 7 year old, whose attention span can often be short!! The guide was really engaging and kept things light and fun, which is what you want for this type of thing. There wasn't as much history included as I was expecting, but to be honest , it really didn't matter as we had such a fun time!! :) Well worth the money if you are looking for a great walk around a great city with a great guide!

Excellent 90 mins of trickery, silly jokes , very sharp ad-libs tailored to the children's names etc. My 7yr old grandson loved it. Lots of HP related content. We were a group of about 20, 10 of whom were probably between 5 and 9 and all the children got involved. Saw parts of York centre I've not seen before. Mr Oberon was excellent, never slipped out of character and led us through the streets like the Pied Piper with a gaggle of children behind him. Would definitely recommend.

My 8 year old wizard loving daughter absolutely loved this tour. Phoenix the red was fab, interacted with all the children present and the jokes just kept on coming, some went over the kids heads a bit but us grown ups definitely appreciated them. I even seen my hubby crack a few smiles and laughs! The magic was fab, my daughter thought they were great, but I won't spoil any of them for others. Definitely worth the money and just the right length of time for littler legs. We were able to spot a few shops along the way we decided to go back to afterwards.

Booked this because I thought my six year old son would enjoy it and he loved it. I was a bit worried about booking it though, as I have mobility problems, but it was absolutely fine, no steps or rocky ground.
