Craft Your Own Gin At York Distillery - Gin School With York Gin

A fabulous afternoon making our own gin with a knowledgeable guide and great company. We left with our own delicious gin - and we will be back for more! We highly recommend this experience.

We had a fantastic 2.5 hours learning about gin, York gin, gin tasting and choosing the botanicals to make our own which was such an enjoyable experience. Would recommend this to everyone. Great experience - well worth the money.

If you like gin, this is 3 hours well spent. It starts with a gin tasting, then an expert explanation of the gin making process (in our case by the excellent Emily). Another tasting follows before the main event. Then you select the botanicals to flavour your own gin and there is advice/ feedback on your chosen blend and the quantities. Next, you put everything into the still and produce your unique gin. Emily was overseeing everything to make sure the process went smoothly. Our gin tasted great (of course!) but others in the group who used completely different botanicals also made excellent gin, which we all shared. It’s just a superb, relaxed event. You take home your own produced and named gin. We loved it.

Absolutely amazing day, Emma was lovely and so welcoming. We tried several gins and make our own bottle of gin which was so fun. We are definitely going to come back to make another bottle 😀

A fabulous 3 hours of gin making with Emma . She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful we made our own lemon infused gin . We will definitely do another session in the future as there are so many more gins I would like to make

It was my friend's 'big birthday' and I wanted to arrange something a bit different, so booked the gin making experience. Oh, it was brilliant! It was such good fun choosing the ingredients for our gin and even better fun drinking it! Tim, our expert distiller was good fun and really knowledgeable and greeted us with an ice cold G&T. We got to taste a number of gins and the place is really smart with a nice outside space so we could sit in the sunshine and finish our gin which wouldn't fit in the bottle! 😂 And if you love your gin creation, they'll keep your recipe and you can reorder it! A fantastic 3 hours, highly recommended. Thank you!

Fantastic experience, best distillery tour I have ever done - and I’ve done a lot of them 🤣🤣🤣 From beginning to end, enjoyable & informative. My “guide” Andelina was superb - the company is lucky to have her! It was worth every penny - the bottle of gin I made will take pride of place amongst the others I bought. York Gin is very high quality and now I understand why!

We had a great time making our own Gin to take away. There was just the two of us and we were shown how to make the raw spirit into our own blend of botanicals by Adeline. Adeline was really very informative and friendly. We had a great time and learnt a lot. Would recommend the experience to anyone.

We enjoyed an amazing afternoon on the 'Make your own Gin' experience. Tim our Gin master was knowledgeable, fun and shared lots of facts and stories about Gin making. We choose our own botanicals and distilled our very own Gin. From start to finish the venue, the ambience, the Gin tasting and Tim was an absolute delight.

We had a great time at the gin making experience. Amelia was very knowledgeable and friendly. We got to drink some lovely gin, explore the spice cupboard and create our own gin. The place is really nice and cozy.

What an experience the Gin School is! We had the best time - from the welcome drink of our choice on arrival, to the tastings and super informative session on botanical selection for our own gin! They have the botanical pantry of dreams - something for everyone! Amelia made the whole experience so personal to our tastes and preferences. What she doesn't know about gin and botanicals isn't worth knowing! The tapas served alongside was so tasty too. Such an amazing experience from start to end - highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic gin-making experience at York Distillery. It was informative and felt personal, as it was just me and my girlfriend on the experience. Emma, our host, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and made the whole session both engaging and relaxed. We had a great time from start to finish and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable experience.

We made our own gin with 8 friends as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. All of us really enjoyed the afternoon and it was a perfect start to our day and night in York. The setting is amazing and, unlike the gin, the presentation wasn’t ‘dry’ at all and kept us all entertained whilst we were distilling away.

I went with my wife and sister while visiting York. We stopped in at the York Gin store and had a great experience tasting some of the Gin with Jess. Jess was incredibly helpful in getting us set up for the Gin Making experience the next day. We did the Gin Making experience with Emma, who did a fantastic job explaining the science behind making gin, how to mix the botanicals into our own flavor profile, and helping us create the final customized gin. Could not recommend the full experience more!

Thoroughly enjoyed the York Gin Experience. The hosts Tim and Emily made it fun with lots of interesting facts. It was good to see and learn about the history, gin making process, different types of gin and ingredients and to choose and make our own bespoke bottle of gin. I would definitely recommend, was a wonderful, informative experience in a lovely space with other guests.

Tim and Emily were fantastic hosts. The Gin making session was informative and great fun. This was probably the highlight of our trip to York. We are now big York Gin fans!

This was a special birthday surprise and I would highly recommend it! Tim was friendly and knowledgeable, peppering the history and chemistry of gin-making with a variety of gin samples, and an endless supply of tasty snacks. The distillery is a fabulous room; industrial chic, in the centre of town, and a great venue for a stylish party. We each had our own still and equipment, all beautifully laid out on wooden benches (think Hogwarts meets modern chemistry lesson); we chose and weighed out ingredients from the apothecary cubby, and Tim was on hand with helpful tips and instructions the entire time so you can't go wrong. The gins we created were delicious, and look great in actual York Gin bottles. Staff were helpful and communicative the entire way from booking, to updates and travel instructions, to being very accommodating of allergies. There was plenty of time to chat amongst ourselves, enjoy our drinks, ask Tim questions throughout, take photos, and generally have lots of fun. Thanks so much Tim for making our afternoon really memorable.

Amazing experience at York Gin distillery! And I even got a bottle to take away with me! It was fun to learn so much history and get involved in the making of my bespoke gin.
