Near the Minster. The hotel is very tired. We booked the 4 poster room, at nearly £300 per night, I expected more than instant coffee. Super small tv, no fridge, not worth the money. Breakfast was good, but cheap beans. Staff were helpful. Very noisy, war plugs provided

Enjoyed our stay . Lovely room . Hotel situated not far from York minister . Inside really quaint , lovely beer garden . Coffee shops just to right of hotel where we had a lovely brunch . And coffee on both days . Had dinner wen we arrived at hotel late around 8pm Only had Prawn pil pil and house salad , we think over priced , as was quite chewy and oil quite bland .expected more flavour ? Wouldn’t order that again . Chips were lovely though . My sister said in the morning she thought looking at the mirror facing the door she could have sworn she saw a cat that seemed to just disappear in the top corner ? Thought nothing of it until We started reading history of cats in York ! So Did she see a cat ghost , yes ! Great lively pub up there road we went in twice as they played great music and wasn’t at all packed . Would stay here again
We had a table booked inside, unfortunately main/small plates took an hour to get to us. However the staff were extremely apologetic and offered a round of drinks on the house. I can not fault the food, drinks or atmosphere, the staff are fantastic but I did feel that they were a little overwhelmed. However I will say a beautiful place to eat and drink with fantastic staff, but maybe not at peak times as it is a tourist hotspot xxx
Excellent stay at the Fat Badger York! Such a beautiful venue and hands down one of the best beer gardens in York with an excellent view of the Minster. The staff (especially Mike, Debbie and Zahra) were excellent and really made us feel at home. Food was fantastic and the rooms were gorgeous. Can't wait to come back when we're next in the area!!
Stayed for one night as was away for work. Checked in smoothly. Is around a 10 min walk from the car park which cost £22.50 a night so maybe don’t park in the one they suggest on the website! Room really nice, a little on the dark side as all the bulbs are dim. Don’t expect a lie in as there’s lots of noise in the morning and being an old building is creaky. I ordered room service which was super easy with a QR code and very prompt! Breakfast was10/10, black pudding absolutely delicious! Would return
