Yogyakarta: Bromo And Ijen Volcano Tour Starts From Yogyakarta

We had a wonderful experience with Borobudur Sunrise on our trip to visit Ijen and Bromo in East Java. Our guide, Rama, was extremely knowledgeable and provided the best experiences - for example he scheduled us with an awesome local guide for Ijen, we were the first group up the mountain and he took us to the crater at Bromo for sunrise (which typically people visit after viewing sunrise overlooking Bromo), we beat the crowds and were able to see the lava in the crater before it was light out. Really appreciated him knowing the best way to experience both volcanoes. He also took us around Surabaya before our flight and we tried some local street food. Would absolutely recommend using this company for your Ijen/Bromo tour. Thank you Rama!

We were a group of two families and we had an amazing time in Java with the best guide ever Rama who show us everything we want and fulfill all our wishes. We spent a week with him in Yogyakarta, Dieng, Bromo, Ijen and Tumpak Sewu and it was a wonderful time. He is very good driver so in a busy traffic in Java it is very important. We did the Ijen trip in the morning, and it was absolutely fabulous! We didn't choose the blue fire hike to see the sunrise, and what a choice it was not to have done so! The driver, Bhimo, picked us up, and then we met with another fantastic guide to get to the top of Ijen between 9 / 10 AM. We were almost alone, as all the night crowds had already gone. We were very cared for during our trip and learnt so much with both guides about Ijen itself, Balinese culture, traditions... They were really talkative and nice. We had time for lunch after the hike, and then we were dropped off at Banyuwangi harbour to get our ferry to Bali. Bhimo even accompanied us till the dock so we wouldn't get lost (A lovely gesture) and managed a taxi to get us once in Bali. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Totally recommend the agency, with whom we also did a couple of more tours during our stay which were also ten out of ten. We would totally book with them again!

It was excellently planned and executed. Every hotel where they had booked for us was excellent. Rama, our driver cum guide who has also become our friend now , was our perfect travel partner. Always on time, ready to greet us with a broad smile. This was our second trip with them and would want to go back with the same team. Overall a wonderful experience.

The tour had amazing views of a unique side of Indonesia. The mountains were breathtaking. Our tour guide Rama was very patient and helpful for the duration of the trip, making sure we got anything we needed.

The tour has been a smooth ride from start to end. Our tour guide Bhimo handled all the details such as hotel check in, admission, health certificate etc. He was very helpful, friendly and thoughtful. His driving skills were amazing. Would recommend doing the tour with him when booking via Borobudur Sunrise. Ijen worked well as we got a head start and could check out the crater before the main crowd arrived. The waterfall was our second stop. We got a local guide showing us the falls and providing some information. Regarding Bromo, we went to the top with a Jeep which was an interesting experience. Ijen and Bromo are interesting travel locations but have to be shared with lots of other tourists.

We had amazing experience . We had booked the trip to MT Bromo for our family in last week of May 2026 in advance and stayed at PROBOLINGGO. Our Guide BHIMO was very knowledgeable and helped us plan best . He made it in time to our hotel. His punctuality and early guidance for trip preparation helped us . On our way during the trip, BHIMO was super helpful, we reached to viewing point at KING KONG HILL well in time . Our guide BHIMO helped us in clicking amazing pictures of the sunrise. I had trouble trekking up the hill and Our guide BHIMO helped me trek comfortably. Over all an amazing trip with lots of fond memories with wonderful people in a wonderfully beautiful country. Highly recommended trip !

This was a great trip to two natural wonders of East Java. It was a little demanding with lack of sleep and in particular the nightly Ijen hike, but well worth it. Hotels booked - one in a village near Bromo and one in Bondowoso were very nice. The best part was our driver and guide Bhimo. The places are beautiful but as a result can be a bit busy - Bhimo made sure we were among the first ones everywhere, got us the best spots, managed everything expertly and was always there for us. We saw many people arriving too late to make it into the Ijen crater for the blue flames or to Bromo for good viewing spots - didn't happen to us. When we arrived in the Bromo village the afternoon before the main trek we were in a mood to explore. As we set out on foot (which it turns out would be a very silly idea), Bhimo immediately noticed us and offerred to drive us around for an extra trip around some scenic spots which turned out to be amazing. Absolutely recommend this guy - he also told us lots of interesting things during the long car drives and he made the trip an overall one of the best experiences on our vacation.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. We booked the Ijen & Bromo tour directly through watsapp and paid with an invoice and bank transfer - easy. They answered every question we had and tailored the tour to our travel needs. Other than the experiences themselves (which in my mind need no explanation other than amazing) our highlight was our driver Bhimo - what a guy! Bhimo was reliable, attentive, fast but a very safe driver and got us everywhere we needed to be early if not on time. His English was great and he answered a lot of our random questions on those long drives, provided us with endless bottled water, played our music choices, always told us to let him know when we needed a toilet or food break - couldn’t have asked for a better driver! The hotels we stayed in were lovely (Illira & Manis Ae) extremely comfy beds and modern, Illira had a pool and gym which was a plus and Manis Ae had stunning views and was super close to the start which meant we had as much sleep as possible.

We did 3d2n Bromo ljen tour with Bhimo. It was honestly THE best private tour experience I had in my 2 years living in Indonesia. He was always punctual, worked hard no matter time of day to make us feel special. He also speaks very good English so it's easy to discuss all the details you can be interested in and not just get basic information. Bhimo is really obsessed with making you feel comfortable starting from clean comfortable car and water always by your side and ending by taking you to best spots to make photos and putting you in first group to hike to ljen so you can have best experience with only a handful of people. Would be glad to do another tour with him in the future and strongly recommend doing tours with him to everyone, you won't be disappointed!

This tour was an overall great experience! We were accompanied by Agung and then Rama, who were both lovely and made our tour even more fun than it already was. We were always picked up on time, everything that was planned took place exactly the way the initiary said, Rama even showed us around towns a little bit and helped us buy a Sim card. The hiking tours themselves were organised well too, with the more exhausting on being on day 2 and the easier one on day 3. We are very happy with our choice of tour and would recommend this exact one to anyone wanting to see the Ijen crater and Mount Bromo!

We had the best experience with Bhimo and I would 100% recommend anyone tour with him. We did the 3 day, 2 night Mt. Bromo and Mt. Ijen tour. Both accommodations we stayed at were perfect. The Kim Kim tour of Mt. Ijen was great and all of the guides were incredible. Sule, Kim Kim, and the other guides did such an amazing job of making sure everyone was safe and having a great time. They were truly amazing and were so committed to making sure everyone was happy. Bhimo is the best and we loved our entire time with him!!! Can’t wait to come back :)

My wife and I did the Bromo Ijen Tour with Borobudor Sunrise starting in Bali and ending in Yogyakarta. We booked this tour some time before our trip. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Communication went smoothly, and everything went according to plan. They take your personal preferences into account and are very flexible. A fantastic experience!

We booked the trip on the internet. 1 day later Bhimo, our driver, texted us via WhatsApp and organized the pick-up at the airport in Surabaya. Even when there was a delay he told us not to hurry and that he‘ll wait for us. In the next three days we had the best time together. We had fun driving and listening to music (Bhimo asked us if we wanted to) and the choice of hotels for the 2 nights were really good. At Bromo he even carried three camping chairs up to the top so we could wait sitting for the sunrise. He took so many beautiful photos of us and explained everything. Bhimo chose „Qim Qim Tours“ for hiking on the Ijen and it was the best we could do. We were the first at the Blue Fire and had a little camp fire on the top of Ijen while waiting for the sunrise. Afterwards Bhimo organized everything for our boat trip to Bali. All in all the trip was amazing and we‘ll stay in contact with Bhimo. Thank you!

I must confess it’s quite an intensive tour where you have few time to relax and sleep but it’s really worth it. We were lucky with the weather: little cloudy while visiting the temples and wonderful clear sunrises on the volcanos. Our guide Bimo was excellent: always available, very kind and welcoming, always on time and excellent guide. He took care of everything: tickets, water, got in touch with the guides in the different places we visited. He made us feel always comfortable: in the car, on the Bromo, to find food We couldn’t ask for a better tour

Fantastic trip with Borobudur Sunrise and our guide Faiq. We started from Bali, hiked Ijen on day 2 and Bromo on day 3, finishing in Yogyakarta. Borobudur Sunrise handled the logistics seamlessly - all the tickets, guides and hotels were coordinated so we had an incredibly smooth experience and didn't have to lift a finger. Our guide Faiq was incredible. He was always punctual and professional. Every night he would share the plan for the following day to make sure we knew exactly what was going on, and he was flexible to adapt to the needs of the group - on the last day we added the Madakaripura waterfall to our itinerary and he accommodated it like it had always been the plan. Faiq was also very responsive over whatsapp in the lead up to the trip. We really appreciate the local context that he shared with us on our drives. I would highly recommend!

We were accompanied on our journey through Java by our guide Eko. He drove us from Yogyakarta to the Bromo Park Hotel. From there, we set off at night to the sunrise viewpoint to witness the stunning sunrise over Mount Bromo. After that, we hiked up to the crater rim. Eko was not only always extremely punctual, he also took care of our luggage, checked us in, and provided us with all the necessary information. He made sure we had food, drinks, and regular toilet stops—always looking out for us. From Bromo, we continued on to the Ijen Crater, which we hiked up with a local guide—an absolutely spectacular experience. Eko and the Ijen guide took amazing photos and videos, even editing them into Instagram-worthy professional clips—a truly unforgettable memory. From Ijen, Eko brought us all the way to Bali, including the ferry ride, and personally handed us over to our next driver. He organized everything from A to Z so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We were always well-informed and excellently taken care of. Eko is a one-of-a-kind person, a true gem with a heart of gold. He speaks excellent English and is polite, humble, and incredibly dedicated. I can recommend this tour and all of our guides 1000%. It was amazing trip! We were looking for company online before our stay in Indonesia. Everything went really good, communication with company before trip was great and offer was really clear and detailed. Our driver Eko (great guy!! We totally recommend!) cared about us during the whole trip and we spent together good time. Everything on time in a great atmosphere. Clearly they know what they do and they are good in it. Today we did a tour with Dayu to Prambanan and Borobudur. A fun tour and a good guide who took us to the locations and arranged everything for us (tickets etc). definitely recommended!

We were having a magnificent day trip in Yogya Borobudur sunrise - Merapi - Prambanan with Dayu. Very clean car with aircon, Dayu have good English skills, and was answered for all our curious questions. We are highly recommend you to travel with him.

Completely hassle free, I did not have to lift a finger, everything from tickets to sights, accommodations, and transportation were taken care of seamlessly by Dayu our driver and the BorbodurSunrise team. Guides and the level of service provided was top tier.

Everything is perfect, the tour is really nice, one thing that should be reported (but nobody does) is that to go to Ijien it takes a minimum of physical preparation, if you are in a fast group you can appreciate everything before thousands of people arrive, another important thing to report is clothing, it is a slightly challenging trek, you go down on slippery ground so you can not go with common sneakers that do not make grip on the ground! (We have seen tourists with crocks, they are dangerous for themselves and others) the experience is unique, but once in the crater there will be a lot of smoke, gas masks help but it still takes your breath away and you can not see anything, you can panic, slip or otherwise, so, we were prepared and with good suitable clothing, but definitely not an experience for everyone. Special thanks to our guide Bhimo! You were amazing!!!

two lovely places to visit absolutely, we went to the Bromo volcano during the night and saw the sunrise in front of the crater, the view is really spectacular and the atmosphere is unique, you will feel like you are on another planet, you will be above the clouds and you will see a wonderful view of the crater. Even for Ijen we went up at night and saw the sunrise from above, they are two really amazing places that you absolutely have to go. Our guide Faiq and his company were fantastic, they thought of everything and made this adventure really enjoyable, they could not find a better guide, if you have to visit these lovely places I recommend this guide, I think you can not find a better guide.
