Yogyakarta: Borobudur Sunset Shared Guided Tour

Sunset is more expensive but totally worth it as there are far less tourist around sunset, so you get all the time you need to shoot great pictures. Diner afterwards was very good, something for everyone’s tastes. The guide (group of 15 max) on the temple was Hatta - very informative, funny and kind. His ‘tropical English’ (his words) was very good! The driver to and from the temple Budi was the best ever, ask away and he will explain. And his 80’s playlist had all our and his favorites.

Fajar our driver contacted us a day before our activity via WhatsApp, and communicated well. He was early for our pick-up and his driving was excellent. He speaks English very well and gave us useful tips and information about Yogya. The entire activity was well coordinated, and we knew exactly what was the flow. Our assigned Borobudur guide Ati was also informative and showed us all the good photo spots (and took photos for us, and for the other families in our group). Overall a highly recommended activity - the sunset tour is pricier than the regular ones, but we like it that there were only two groups (of ~10 pax each) today, and we had the grounds to ourselves with plenty of free time. Buffet dinner was decent.

Budi was a very enthusiastic driver and gave us loads of information about the area while answered all our general questions. The temple is cool, but I would’ve preferred Budi to show us around. The temple provides their own guides, and mine wasn’t so easy to understand. I had a nice day out

Visiting Borobudur was the highlight of our trip. The sunset, even with the light rain, was gorgeous and there was only one other party other than us. While the tour is shared, when we got their our amazing driver, Toni, helped us easily get a private tour for only 200k Rupiah more. Fellen, our tour guide, was spectacular. She gave us a ton of history, guided us to see the things we wanted to see, and was just so bright and funny.

I had an amazing experience visiting Borobudur in a solo travel. I had the luck to have as a driver Mr.Badi that made my experience much better , he was very helpful, polite and had care for any of my need. I then booked two more experiences with the same company and had a very good experience with Toni as I driver. I’m very grateful for them as they also were very honest with pricing regardless I was on solo travel they gave me excellent and fair price. Thanks for everything! I definitely raccomand to anyone

Budi my driver was very knowledge about Yogyakarta. the trip was very pleasant. all participant was expected a better dinner, that only a soup with rice and fruit. the temple guide know very well the story and love to take pictures. i really enjoyed the trip

The Borobudur temple trip was great, we also visited another site called the Mendut monastery. Our guide & driver was called Vega and he was superb. We started the tour at 14.00 and finished at around 21.00. The Borobudur sunset experience got rained off (our fault for visiting in rainy season). But we did have a good 20 minutes at the top before the rain fell, for enough photos and getting a feel of the place. The included meal was at the restutant at the base of the temple. You could pick anything from the menu apart from the beef steak or Salmon. Wine/beer or dessert is not included you have to pay extra. Vega drove us very safely throughout the whole day and we had many great conversations along the way.

Amazing sunset and well organised tour. Vega was an excellent driver and guide making me feel welcome and giving me lots of tips and suggestions for the rest of my trip. Would definitely recommend.

Our personal driver, Budi, was excellent. His English was impeccable and he was incredibly knowledgeable. He would let us stop along the way if we wished to and also knew everything about the area. We loved the Borobudur - what an incredible experience being able to see it. Also, the tour guide at the park Kenny was amazing and explained everything very well. On the way home Budi went out of his way to stop at an old colonial Dutch house for coffee, which was super special for us. I highly recommend this tour and especially ask to have Budi as your driver and guide.

The view was great and the guide very knowledgeable. I am restricted re climbing so I didn't go far up but my partner did. The temple itself is lovely with lots of stone carving, very similar to Angkor Watt but without the vines. A lot of people. Our driver was also really good and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the trip.

It's a half-day trip that is more than enough and enjoyable to visit Borobodur. Our driver Toni was very attentive, he accompanied us and explained the procedure until we joined our guide. The visit was very interesting thanks to the explanations of the guide who was really friendly and kind.

We had a fantastic tour with Tanto, who was very friendly, open minded and interested. He showed and explained us many things and we had very interesting conversations about many world topics and issues in addition. We had a great day and felt very comfortable at any time. We got picked up at home and he brought us back at the end. It was luxurious! We had to worry about nothing. Thank you! We would book this tour again.

I really enjoy the golden hour and sunset from the top of Borobudur temple. It was magical and breathtaking. The tour was well organized, got a lot of new knowledge of borobudur also meet a new friend from the sharring tour. The guide, driver or team is very helpful and friendly. The temple in afternoon so amazing. We had great time with budi, he guide us to the hidden spot where unknown with others tourist. I really aprrecietes and reccomend this service if you come to Borobudur
