Private Merapi Volcano 4wd Jeep Tour From Yogyakarta

I had a very nice morning with pak Ferry, the driver who picked me up for the one hour drive to where the jeeps are. Also the jeep driver was pleadant and informative. Highly recommend to take this tour.

Juan, my driver, picked my on time up at my hotel and drove me to Gunung Merapi. Juan is a very cheerful and wonderful man who speaks fluently English. Arrived at Gunung Merapi I stepped over into a great old Jeep and the adventure began. Really enjoyable excursion. Good value for money.

So much fun and super informative. Our guide and driver Hafizh were excellent.

Our booking was accepted by Yasa as driver to/from location for 12.00 pickup. He then WhatsApp he had to go pray so wld be late. A highly unacceptable way to treat customers & we told him that on meeting. We were not all happy when he picked us 30 minutes late!! On returning to our accommodation at end of trip he asked for a 5* review (absolutely not happening). On the other hand our jeep driver/guide Taplin was excellent & we enjoyed seeing Merapi with no clouds in front of it. We watched keeps in river racing around. I recommend the Jeep part of your but find it hard to recommend a driver who does not value promptness

Ervad Aryanto i., he drove us to the Merapi vulcano. He was so much more than just a driver! He was also a nice guide. Along the road, he told us everything about Yogyakarta, the Merapi and also a lot about the culture. He speaks English very good. We really liked our ride!

It was nice, but more interesting for history than for action.

Had a wonderful time touring rice fields and then visiting Prambanan and Sewu temple. Nadia was an excellent and informative tour guide and Raka was a great driver! Would recommend to anyone looking to get out of Yogyakarta for a day.

Seta was our guide, he made our little trip much better and gave as many explanations. In addition to this, he is a great photographer. I really recomend this experience with them!

He shared so much about the local area, happily answered all our questions and even surprised us with a few thoughtful gifts he collected during the tour. He also took the time to create a wonderful video of us, which was such a special touch. JAM, our jeep operator and the driver for them was equally brilliant – full of information, an excellent driver and he captured some amazing photos for us along the way. Our driver was perfectly on time (ferry). He is really friendly und did extra stopps for us. Our guide at Merapi was Ayub, he was also friendly and gave us many Informations. He took fotos from and for us, so we could relax. Could recommend them in every way. Thanks for the trip!

It was a fun trip and Juan was a very nice driver. We had some nice conversations and there was a nice ambiance. Also the jeep safari was very nice, a good mix between bumpy roads & information about the vulcano. At the ride back we shared some words in our language so here is a little dutch word: It is a 'groene' flag to go on this trip! Terimakasih!

First of all we had a great driver called Juan. If you want to have a save feeling driving through the ever chaotic traffic of Yogyakarta, then Juan is the driver to book. Also he has a great playlist, stories to be told, interest in his passengers. The tour was with Mr. Murphy and his Jeep. Also an excellent driver who told us all about the Vulcano, the eruptions, the people living in the area. We had a wonderful tour.

Nice and exciting tour, quite valuable. the driver of Jeep offer comprehensive guide of Merapi. Also a great pick up service, our guide Diki showed us the scenic views along the trip, and gave another ride for us to next destination!

I booked pretty much the night before but the Company responded promptly and communication was good. The price included a seperate driver with the 4 wheel to get up the mountainous paths. The tour guide was early the next day and the drive to Merapi was quite long. He explained points of interest in the town and outskirts as we journeyed. The drive up the mountain was very interesting and I was shown where the lava had flowed to. There wasnt really a lot at the top of Merapi except for the bunker built to provide shelter from hot gases. 2 villagers who had taken shelter there perished because the shelter was buried by the lava and they could not get out. It was never used again. We stopped at various pounts of interest including the remnants of a house that had been destroyed by the hot lava. It was now a museum. I would recommend the tour and the Company anytime

We had a great experience with Mr Diki and Mr Caplin on our Merapi tour. They were both very friendly, spoke fluent English, and very knowledgeable about Merapi and the Yogyakarta area. The tour was very informative and the view from Merapi is beautiful. Highly recommended.

My driver Arya was very polite and professional throughout the entire experience. He took the time to explain all the interesting things you can do in Yogyakarta, which was extremely helpful and made the trip even more enjoyable. The journey was well planned, and everything went smoothly. He was also perfectly punctual, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend his service. Ay Yoob, who was also the Jeep driver, was very polite and professional throughout the entire experience. He carried out the tour fantastically and made sure everything went smoothly. The guides on the Merapi tour were very friendly, and their explanation of the museum and bunker was very informative. They were also very considerate in waiting for us to finish taking pictures and answering our questions, and accomodating our preferences for the river exploration section. The tour overall was very well-planned, informative, and fun for the entire group. Our driver Ferry was very kind. He prepared water for us, and was punctual to picking us up. He responded to our request to drive us to alternate places very promptly and considerately, and made our trip very convenient. He even accompanied us into the inner grounds of Borobodur Temple and Borobodur Museum to make sure we didn't get lost. He also offered advice. He was a very thoughtful guide, and we are very thankful to him.

Great drivers, both the hotel transfer and the jeep tour guide. We are disaster researchers, so the guide was great about answering questions, letting us take our time for photos and chatting, and giving us time for shopping. The museum is fascinating. The guide was also respectful about not splashing too much at the waterpark portion. Highly recommend!

Excellent drivers, both the city transport and the jeep tour guide!! They never rushed us and allowed us to explore at our own pace, offering great information, letting us wait for clouds to clear for good photos, and giving time to shop. There's a portion where you can drive through a water park and get splashed in the back of a jeep, but our driver went slowly and was respectful not to get us too wet (our preference). We left at 8 am, which was early enough to beat most of the crowds and heat. Highly recommend! A great way to spend half a day in Yogya.

Bagus is a very good tour guide and driver. His english is excellent and we had a great conversation. The Jeeptour is good to fill a day.

We are very satisfied, everything was fine, the service was friendly. We were 45 minutes late at the meeting point and they waited for us without any problems. I recommend it.

Really well organized trip to see the volcano. The drivers were very nice. Comfortable and air-condition car to the jeep pick up. The volcano was cool, I think the jeep ride its self was the best part. Super fun for adventures to be on the open road. Driving through the water was my highlight! Definitely worth the trip :)

Our pickup driver Ferry, was ready and waiting for us at appointed time. Nice, comfortable ride. Bottles of water for us. Drove to base camp where jumped in jeep with Alif. Alif spoke good English and gave good explanations of the different sites.

Really well organised trip by Diki who collected us and was a great driver/guide and happy to chat about the volcano history as well as contemporary life in Java. Our jeep experience was good fun and the clouds almost cleared away for a magnificent view.

We had such a great time! Our driver Diki was the absolute best! He was so sweet and wonderful to chat with. He even helped us book a ticket for our train. The jeep ride itself was so fun. The weather was unfortunately not on our side but we still had a fabulous time! Murray was our jeep driver and he was also so wonderful! He took great pictures of us and still made it a great experience, even though the weather wasn’t the best. He was very knowledgeable and great to chat with. I would highly recommend! The communication was excellent, everyone was so kind and friendly and we had so much fun!

Very good experience! I’ve got to see first-hand and learn all about Merapi volcano and its eruptions and how it affected and still affects locals. Running on the river puddles on the 4WD Jeep was a fun experience.

We had a GREAT time, the tour driver Ferry and our jeep driver Tipit were both professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They were eager to talk , answer our questions and showed us a good time. Ferry even dropped us to a location other than pickup and waited for us while we took a detour shopping. Don't hesitate booking with this company!

Very friendly and accommodating guide and the driver. As I went at the 11 am tour , didn’t see the Merapi due to cloud, only maybe about 75%, and that took us more than an hour wait, but the guide keep taking nice pictures of the surroundings and patiently waiting for me. I didn’t go to the museum and the drive to the river as my choice. But the ride was smooth and on the way back , we stopped in the local restaurants with a view of the rice fields. I would suggest people to go at the 4 am tour only as in this month, it was cloudy almost every afternoon and you can’t see the mountain as part of it was covered by clouds.

An amazing experience in overall! Wet season trip so was quite overcast but the crew made the experience to be more enjoyable with other activities.

We had the best time in this adventure. It was a good balance of excitement and somber information about the volcanic eruptions and the devastating destruction caused. This was good for those who cannot hike up to the actual volcano, but want to learn and experience a beautiful and exhilarating day! Our guide Ruddy was friendly, knowledgeable and fun and shared that he survived an eruption while losing everything.

Picked up at my hotel on time and the drive to the volcano was about an hour. I then got in a jeep and we visited the bunker, a small museum of the 2010 eruption and then driving in a river. Both drivers were really friendly and spoke good English. The weather was cloudy so couldn’t see the top of the volcano but it was still good fun.

It was a really fun and exciting experience. Jungle, excursion and volcanos! Our drivers (two of them) were so kind and helpful. A big thank you to both of them! We very much enjoyed the jungle tour and highly recommend it for those who will travel to Yogyakarta!
