So much fun! My driver, Seta, arrived at my hostel at the given pick up time. I was a bit nervous about the drop down to the cave as I hadn’t done this type of activity before but Seta was able to instil confidence in me to go ahead with it, as he is an experienced climber and has done the cave himself many times! They paired me up with another solo traveller and drop was actually really calm and not scary at all. Walking inside the cave to the heavenly light was easy since they gave us gum boots beforehand, and the path is clear with stepping stones. The photographer in the cave was happy to take many photos for me too!

After such a great experience at Borobudur, we privately booked Atok again to visit Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave and he delivered once again. From coordinating timings to organising tickets and walking us through each step of the day, everything was handled seamlessly. These experiences can be quite logistically complex, but Atok made it feel simple and stress-free. Beyond that, his local knowledge and sense of humour made the day genuinely enjoyable. It didn’t feel like a transaction, it felt like we were being looked after by someone who genuinely cared about the experience. We would absolutely recommend Atok to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and personable guide in the region. Costs for the day (Will worth the once in a lifetime experience) Transport: 650k IDR for the full day Jomblang Cave: 500k IDR per person Pindul Cave: 200k IDR per person
Amazing experience! The descent was exciting, guides were professional, and the “light of heaven” view was absolutely stunning. Well organized, safe, and totally worth it when visiting Jogja. Special thanks to our driver Brian — punctual, friendly, and professional, with smooth driving that made the trip very comfortable.
Aku Cinta Indonesia, Aku Cinta Yogya! I had one of the best times of my life there. And one guy makes the time a little bit more special - my new brother Kin! Always cheerful! Terima Kasih and greetings Christian!
The cave is such a unique natural wonder in Indonesia, and the whole trip was well coordinated. Staffs on-site guided us all the way, like lighting paths, preventing slips, and helping with photos. Big thanks to our guide Brian, he was super helpful, on time, and friendly.
The trip I booked was together with the private day tour to Timang. My guide Imam Febrian was very helpful and forthcoming from the moment he met me at the airport for pick up. He is also very skilled at taking photos. I enjoyed my trip very much. Thank you for the amazing experience which included a jeep ride to Timang beach! I would high recommend the tour to Timang beach with guide Imam
Absolutely amazing trip, exceeding any expectations! It's a full day adventure, definitely worth taking - if you have to choose a single thing to do around Yogyakarta, this is exactly what you should really consider. Be sure to ask for Arief - best guide in southeastern Asia. He will share numerous hints and recommendations with you, take you to some extra places, tell you stories and explain everything you want. He also speaks perfect English, is extremely patient and fully competent.
Such an amazing and seamless experience! Was picked up by Antoni from my hostel who was communicative and timely (he even offered to take pictures for me during the excursion) and got to trek down to see the cave light. I’m not sure if you can do something like this anywhere else in the world but this was insanely cool and a safe experience. It is very muddy down there so walk slowly and don’t wear clothes you particularly care about. The tour guides are great at taking pictures and keeping everyone safe.
It was my first time booking a tour guide for a visit and I regret nothing, it was such a wonderfull day with Ardhan. He is a really great person and tour guide. He told me so much about the local indonesian culture and was really helpfull in so many ways ! I'm used to do visit alone and when you do that, you have to thing about all the organisation and that can be stressfull. But with Ardhan I knew I could count on him if I needed something, so I could completely relax and focus on enjoying my day. He took care of everything with the visiting sites and explained to me what to expect and do. The bonus point was because of the slightly earlier picking time than the other touring at my hotel, I was the first person on Mont Merapi for the sunrise. It was so great to be alone at the top without a noise or another group, really peacefull and I got the best points of view for pictures. The Jomblang cave was really exceptional and the guides on site take care of everyone (it was slippery so they helped and checked with everyone if everything is okay) and take pictures and videos for each person and were so much fun to talk to. You don't want to miss the pindul cave with the Oyo river after. It was really relaxing at the end of the tour and the landscape was phenomal with multiple small waterfall during the descent (Oyo River). If I come back in Yogyarta and need a guide, it will be him for sure !
Anton is a good tour guide. We have wonderful & memorable experience in this tour. It is best for you to engage him. You need to overcome the fear to go down but once you did, its a whole new world below.
Brian picked me up promptly at hotel. Comfortable trip. Lots of great info. Everything was well organised and ran on time. Would highly recommend a trip with Brian!
The service was so great! Antoni brought us a lot of joy throughout the trip. With strong professionalism, he provided us with abundant and informative explanations, which made our travel experience extremely wonderful. Highly recommended!
We had an unforgettable experience visiting Timang Beach and Jomblang Cave. Both places are truly unique in their own way: Timang Beach amazed us with its dramatic waves, stunning coastal views, and the famous gondola ride that gave us a thrilling perspective of the ocean. Jomblang Cave was equally breathtaking – descending into the cave and witnessing the magical “light of heaven” shining through was something we will never forget. What made the whole experience even more special was our guide, Ridwan. He was incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable. From the very beginning, he made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. His explanations, sense of humor, and patience added so much value to our trip. Ridwan went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and thanks to him, we felt safe, relaxed, and able to enjoy every moment to the fullest. We highly recommend this tour and especially Ridwan – he truly made our adventure exceptional!
The cave itself is great, but for us the real adventure was riding the entire day with Arief! A great knowledgable guy that can tell you all about jogja and indonesia with a lot of humor! He definitely made the day, even making a lot of photos of us near the cave despite his fear of heights!
Had a great time on this day trip before an evening Prambanan tour! I wish I had brought a spare shirt though. The cave was extremely humid and my shirt was completely soaked through under the harness when I got out. My driver, Kin, was fantastic! He got a video of me getting lowered into the cave, helped me find a good beef rendang warung, and was fun to chat with on the ride out to the cave. I hope I can get as lucky with my drivers in Jakarta.
We had had a great activity tour yesterday. It was the perfect combination of visiting Jomblong Cave and then experiencing the beautiful sea with waves and a sensational jeep ride to the Timang Beach. Our driver, Brian, prepared us well for what to expect. The conversations along the way were enjoyable and educational. Both activities had excellent guides, safety was taken seriously, and the transition from the car to the jeep was also smooth. In short, it was a fun day with great, must-do activities. We were met with the kindness and welcoming feeling from the wonderful people of Indonesia.
Brilliant guide, brilliant tour! A special thanks to Ben for his exceptional service. Highly recommended for an unforgettable and insightful visit.
We had an amazing experience! The guide Brian arranged for us was super friendly, really helpful, and always paying attention to every detail. We felt comfortable the entire time and had a great day. Highly recommend — thank you for everything!
The trip was amazing. This booking is more for the transport. Aguz our driver is very friendly and helped us a lot during the trip. His driving skills are super good. The Jomblang cave trip is amazing and beautiful it's worth trying.
on the way to the caves, the trip was cancelled because of some kind of problem at the caves. Instead I opted for the Mt. Marapi volcano trip. It was cloudy and although we got close to the volcano, it was cloudy so could not see it. Howver the tour guide Yuni was a delight to converse with.
Great experience at the jomblang cave thanks to our great driver youss. I recommend bringing a torch and mosquito repellent.
This was probably one of my favorite experiences in Yogyakarta! I love anything with nature so this was a must experience and it didn't disappoint. The views were absolutely beautiful and it was one of those moments where you just feel like such a small part of a big world. It was truly incredible and I highly recommend it. All ages can definitely do this experience since there is only a little bit of a "hike". It's a little slippery but they'll give you boots to help with the terrain. Also, if you go don't forget to bring an additional 500k rupiah to enter the cave! The pick-up to and from your accommodation is convenient since you do not have to worry about anything like going to a meet-up place. My driver Mr.Yoss was super nice and we were able to stop at some side of the road stalls to try different local snacks. He gave some great recommendations in terms of food and activities and made my experience enjoyable :) Overall, I highly recommend it, you won't regret it!
Exceptional tour! Imam was my guide. He is very fluent in english and very knowledgable of Yogyakarta and the surrounding areas. For tours in Yogja and beyond I will whole heartedly recommend Imam. Jomblang cave is very much true to the pictures, breathless!
Great experience from start to finish. Our guide Andi picked us up at our hotel and walked us through the entire process. He also took pictures of us as we geared up and started our descent. My biggest concern had been about the safety of the gear and the training of the staff. The team conducted a safety briefing and apart from a few old helmets, had top notch equipment and protocols. The cave itself was a spectacular experience. It was like a scene from Jurassic Park minus the dinos. Don't forget to bring your own high powered flashlight. The longish trek from the initial crater to the photo spot is rocky, muddy and pitch black. The photo ops at the water/light fall are amazing and well worth the slog. You need to be patient depending on the number of guests in your group, but there are several points to take pictures. The guides will take your camera to capture the final look. This really was a highlight of our trip and we have breathtaking pictures to prove it.
A very good experience going 50m down to the cave, walk couple of hundreds meter and reach the destination like entering into another world. The view is fantastic ! It is a long ride to and fro from my hotel to the Cave. Luckily we have a good driver/guide to ferry and chat with us and offer us to take a break a a Coffee Luwak out to try the local nice cup of kopi Luwak.
The cave was very impressive and nice. Would go again. Imam was really sweet and gave us a lot of information about the cave and other things.
So... cave is very nice, but organizers should think to improve this trip. This tip is too expencive. Why? 1. There was not rubber boots for my husband size. He can go with own sandals. 2. Toilet is very dirty. 3. Did not give flashlights. It is dark in the cave. Use your phone. It's not convenient. 4. The path in the cave could be made better and higher. 5. The attendants photographed some, others not - we didn't make it. 6. There is not always light in the cave - as seen in the advertisement. If there are clouds, there will be no light. It's nature.
Tomo was an incredible guide! We had so much fun exploring the caves and he was able to make the long drive there and back just as enjoyable.
Wow! 20+ stars just isnt enough! Like your in Juressic Park! (without the dinosaurus) 😊 Erick Widyatmoko was a super guide! Your Lucky when Erick takes you. Much enjoyed myself!
It was a very fun, challenging and close refreshing encounter with nature. Our guide Bagus had prepped us well in terms of expectations and history of the cave system. We recommend this activity and our guide to all travellers who want to see a different sight of Yogyakarta.
We really enjoyed how the tour organized. Very well organized from the begining till the end. The communications beforehand was clever. We had an enthusiastic driver/guide named YUNI, who was able to answer all of our questions about the city, culture, and everything. The cave itself was amazing, really unique. We would definitely recommend everyone is doing this Jomblang Cave Tour with this company.
Brian was excellent! Super attentive and communicative, from the hotel search to the end, always thinking of our best. I highly recommend! Thank you for everything, Brian.
Everything is artificial and the staff is very serious about helping to take photos, and there is no problem with solo travel, so the admission fee is reasonable, and it includes simple meals, water coffee, etc., if you can have 2 to 3 people together share the charger charger is better.
Jomblang cave was fine but one does especially for the photo. You pay mainly for being brought back and forth by a cheerful experienced local guide. We were with Arief, a fantastic man with whom we had then gone for coffee and who helped us with everything and everything. Definitely recommended, especially for people who want to learn about the culture and jogja!
