Jomblang Cave, Pindul Cave And Oyo River Tour

My guide was Fajar Mahardhika Darmawan, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! He speaks good English and is incredibly friendly, fun, and easygoing. What I appreciated most was how genuinely he cared about making sure I had a great time. He never rushed me and always encouraged me to take my time, soak in the moment, relax, and enjoy the experience. He also took care of all the arrangements, making everything completely stress-free. I actually overslept and woke up after our scheduled meeting time, but Fajar was incredibly patient and waited for me for over an hour without complaining. He then managed to find shortcut after shortcut, and somehow, against all odds, we still arrived on time! He's also very flexible, accommodating, and knowledgeable, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Fajar to anyone looking for a friendly, reliable, and genuinely caring guide. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

I didn't enjoy this experience at all. This has absolutely nothing to do with the driver, he was perfectly pleasant, but I won't mention him by name since my review is so low. It's the actual activities themselves. Jamblang cave is a pretty such when the light enters it in the right angle but it is truly a 3h queue for a picture. I suppose people do the same in the Louvre. But you'll be queuing, being harnessed, briefed, hoisted down, wait, then be hoisted up in the sun. The cave is cool but you walk for 300m, your group takes a picture one by one and you're out again. If the cave were accessible on foot, it would be a 15min deal. But the second half is in fact worse than the first. You will be sitting on a floating donut which be clipped to other donuts and there will be a person pulling them by hand along the river. There is a cave but that's a fraction of this activity. Eventually you come out of the river, are guided to the back of a truck and driven by maybe 10-15 min to another bit of river and you repeat the same thing except this time it's about an hour entirely in the sun. No respite, at whatever speed one man can drag 15 people on top of donuts. At one point most people, including myself, simply decided to swim in order to shield a bit from the sun. This is an expensive tour, and I spent most of it wondering if I'd ever spent money on anything worse. I couldn't think of anything.

I booked a shared drive but it turned out to be a private tour without any extra surcharges.

It was a very nice experience to climb down the cave. Such a unique place! We had the lovely driver named Eko, who told a lot about living in Indonesia and gave other ideas for activities.

We had such an adventurous amazing day. The driver was really friendly and great, he provided us with water and suggested to get is breakfast. It was a great experience!

I had a really enjoyable day visiting Jomblang Cave, Pindul Cave and the Oyo River. The whole trip was well organized, and the places themselves were absolutely worth seeing — especially Jomblang, which was a unique experience. A special mention goes to our driver - Tomo. He was very friendly, communicative and easy to talk to. We had some really interesting conversations along the way, which made the longer drives much more enjoyable and made the whole trip feel more personal rather than just being transported from one attraction to another. The only downside was the price. I felt it was a little too high compared with similar tours and offers from competitors in the area. The experience was very good overall, but a slightly more competitive price would make it much easier to recommend without hesitation. Overall, a great day with beautiful places, good organization and, most importantly, an excellent driver who added a lot to the experience. Thank you!

Our tour guide, Yudi, was very knowledgeable and gave excellent advice. Although I'm not fluent in English, he was a wonderful guide who spoke to me kindly. We also talked about motorcycles and Japanese singers during the car ride. I'm so glad I took this tour.

The trip to caves Jomblang and Pindul was a wonderful day. It was perfectly organised by guide Fajar so that me and my company could fully experience both attractions. Everything was great! The guide was friendly and we had a great time. The caves themselves were beautiful, and everything was very well organized! I really enjoyed the river rafting, we went swimming, it was fun!

Our guid Bhimo was very attentive and made sure we got to the cave early so we can be the 1st group down into the cave. Otherwise it can be very crowded. The cave was interesting. You get rubber boots because it is muddy and slippery. At the end of the cave there is an interesting spot where sun shines into the cave which makes good photos. After a delicious lunch provided by the caving company. We participated in river tubing activities which I find relaxing. The river beds can also be very slippery, so wear good water shoes. Bhimo took photos of us and even made a very nice video of our activities and shared with us. Very nice guide. He also speaks good English. Definitely recommend him.

Jomblang Cave was such a unique experience! Especially getting dropped 60 meter down and getting lifted afterwards. Fair warning, the path inside to explore other two caves are very very slippery and muddy, you might be at risk of falling or spraining your ankle if not careful. Safety precautions were greatly monitored by the staff onsite. It was however less of a cave exploration and more of a field trip to just take scenic Instagrammable pictures. Shoutout to our driver Rama who took pictures of us being dropped and was onsite till we came back up. Oyo River Tour was on a separate site, and it was a more relaxing experience. The river is not too rapid, it was more of a lazy river kind of experience to unwind.

Excellent tour and my driver BHIMO was fun to talk to and had great English proficiency. Don’t forget to bring a change of cloths for after the river. Overall lots of fun and the main cave is spectacular.

A really good and well organised day, time slots had been arranged for both attractions and lunch was provided at Jomblang; I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I went with Eko, who was informative, and through conversation got insights to Yogyakarta and Javanese culture I otherwise wouldn’t have done, would definitely recommend alongside Borobudur and Prambanan to anyone visiting Yogya!

The caves Jomblang cave is amazing! We had such a great time with our driver Tomo! He gave is extra information and told us what we could expect. Please be aware that the cave is very muddy. You get boots provided at the location! The river is also really nice you get to tube along it and relax!

We had an absolutely amazing day with our guide Dayu, and we couldn’t recommend him more! We traveled together to Jomblang Cave and the cable car at Timang Beach, and Dayu made the entire experience unforgettable. He was incredibly well-prepared and gave us the perfect advice — to leave Yogyakarta at 6 AM. Thanks to that, we were the very first ones to arrive at Jomblang Cave and had the most time inside of all the visitors that day. Even though we had agreed to meet early in the morning, Dayu arrived well ahead of time and was waiting patiently for us. From the very beginning, he treated us like his dearest friends. While we were waiting to enter the cave, Dayu surprised us with a traditional Indonesian breakfast that he had thoughtfully bought, brought along, and served with care. Throughout the entire trip, he kept offering us water and delicious cookies to keep our energy up. He was always there when we needed him — helping us, taking beautiful photos and videos of us, and somehow (we still don’t know how!) later sending us a fully edited video of the whole day. It felt like magic — Dayu is a wizard! On the way back, he even added a bonus stop at the stunning Indrayanti Beach. And when he heard that we wanted to buy some coffee, he took us to an amazing local coffee roastery where we learned all about the production of Kopi Luwak and even had the chance to feed the civets with bananas! Dayu is also an excellent driver — calm, safe, and professional. His car is modern, very clean, comfortable, well-maintained, and air-conditioned, making the whole ride a real pleasure. We are so grateful for the wonderful day we spent under Dayu’s care. Thank you, Dayu, from the bottom of our hearts — and we highly recommend booking a tour with him. You won’t regret it!

Went with Faisal for the jomblang cave and the tubing .. it was truly wonderful . I had asked for a shared tour but despite having no other person , they did not cancel and arranged it all for me , solo , while not charging anything extra . Faisal was such a wonderful host .. lots of conversation , insights and super pleasant . Would highly recommend this company .

Jomblang tour and Oyo cave were good but our driver Dayu made the day. He was extremely friendly, fun to talk to and made the drive there and back enjoyable. He also prepared snacks for us and took us to his favourite Kopi Luwak cafe after the tour.

Today we spent the whole day out with EKO. EKO is a very friendly, flexible, and kind man who drove and guided us excellently throughout the day. During the drives to our tours, he also shared a lot of interesting information about Indonesia, Yogyakarta, and the local culture. With EKO, you truly have a great driver and guide.

The Pindul cave and Oyo river tours are lovely. A nice and relaxt inner tube float through a very nice cave and a mini gorge. The Jomblang cave is a very muddy affair with most of the time spent waiting to go down, for others to get their pictures taken and to go back up again. The rest of the time is spent struggling through the mud. If you are lucky and do not fall, you’ll be covered up to your knees in mud. Having said that, the rappel up and down is thrilling, and the light through the hole in the roof of the cave is really beautiful.

We had a fantastic time on our excursion. Faiq, our guide, was incredible and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. He provided us with valuable insights into the region and the excursion itself. Faiq is an excellent driver and very sociable, making it easy for us to communicate in English. We even discussed how to maximise the plans we had already made independently. He also ensured that we arrived at the right time, so we didn’t have to wait for the repel down Jumblong Cave. It was an unforgettable experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cave. Afterward, we visited Pindul Cave and the Oyo River. This was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy a refreshing swim and float around. On the way to the river, we passed through beautiful rice fields. Overall, we had an unforgettable day, and it was all thanks to the tour operator.

I will review on Oyo River because I did Pindul on another review earlier. This is on Oyo River only. From Pindul cabe, we were transported via truck to another place. It was a bumpy road through rough and lonely pasture. At one point, we felt safe because we have been traveling with a guide. It’s about 10minutes away and then we were lead to another river. Here is where I call peace within the nature. We went into the water and go through the ripples and mini waterfalls. I just wish the ripples ride is longer because it is way too short of a ride. Overall it is interesting.

We had an amazing day visiting Jomblang Cave and tubing Pindul Cave and the river. Both destinations are stunning and our number one activities around Yogyakarta. I have a bit of vertigo, but was pretty fine descending the Jomblang Cave as it felt really safe. Our guide Faiq was amazing: fun, kind and knowledgeable. Would recommend this organisation strongly.

Engaged borobudur sunrise agency and the assigned driver & tour guide, Faiq was awesome person to spend time with. Fluent English, knowledgable and responsible person. We had a superb experience and Faiq even found ways to save our travel time to avoid any possible heavy traffic's and very friendly person to engage .

Mystic views in Jomblang cave, refreshing float through Pindul cave and Oyo river. Our guide Pras was very energetic, welcoming and easy going. Easy to feel 'at home' in his car traveling from A to B.

Jomblang Cave is stunning, but can be very muddy at the bottom. They give you rubber boots before you go down, but I'd recommend bringing a pair of socks to wear inside the boots. The operator that runs the caving tours could probably implement some better safety standards (that was my Western perception anyways), but everyone was fine on the tour and there were no incidents. The caving operator has guides that help keep you safe too, and play photographer once you get to the heavens light (and they don't charge for the photos!). Pindul Cave tubing was cool, but fairly short. I liked the Oyo River tubing more as you get to go through some mild rapids, pass under waterfalls, and get to float through the gorgeous countryside. Our driver and guide, Eko, was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this tour.

Due to bad weather, we sadly couldn't visit Jomblang Cave, which was the main attraction. However, our guide was flexible and took us to Timang Beach instead, where we had a great time.

The tour wasn't as good as I had imagined. I had some concerns about safety (including the safety of the team itself). The ascent and descent with rappel, which I had imagined would be the most difficult, was the easiest. But from the point of descent of the rappel to the entrance of the first cave the terrain is VERY uneven, steep and slippery (at least during the rainy season) and there is nothing firm to hold on to. I didn't feel safe going down to the cave. Lunch was OK. My driver (Wahyu) was very kind and drove me safely.

I recently explored Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave, and it was an incredible experience! Jomblang’s deep descent led to stunning views inside, with the famous “heaven’s light” creating a surreal atmosphere. Pindul Cave offered a fun river tubing experience, and after passing through, we continued floating down the river, stopping at multiple jump spots—which I absolutely enjoyed! A huge thanks to our amazing guide, Wahyu, who made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and enthusiasm. This adventure was the perfect mix of nature, thrill, and excitement. I’d definitely do it again soon!

I had a wonderful tour to the Jomblong and Pindul caves with a very nice guide and driver Eko! Eko orginized everything perfectly and also helped me to visit the Ratu Boko palace and explained a lot about other attractions near Yogyakarta. I am really happy that I have chosen this tour. We got a driver from a local place whose name was wahyu. Honestly this was probably one of the most underrated adventures we have done. The cave was beautiful and highly instagrammable. The journey to the cave was pretty epic- we initially had to be lowered down on ropes and then had a pretty adventurous trek there. Once at the location the tour guides took a number of pictures and were absolute pros. We were then basically craned out of the cave on ropes again. Highly recommend doing this if you are fit enough. Would also recommend combining this with the river rafting and tubing adventure. Ps our guide was such a great dude who took photos and videos and made us an edited movie and collage at the end. I’d recommend asking for him if possible.

It was amazing. Hendra took care of me throughout the way and he was very efficient. He drove very well and was very respectful. I was able to get the information I need from him but also the person space to enjoy the tour. Jomblang cave was one of the most amazing thing that I have ever seen.

Maxi was my tour guide. He was so nice and even attempted to treat me breakfast! He took me to few extra stops because I moved quick. He was very positive, respectful and accommodating. He was very knowledgeable about all the temples and places that we went to. He was never late and was always ready to match my speed and timing.
