We hired a van and driver for 5 people from Eton. Both Eton and driver Setyo were very helpful and professional. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time in Yogyakarta. The van was air-conditioned and had plenty of space for the 8 of us.
We recently came back from a family trip to Indonesia. We started at Singapore for 2 nights, then to Yogyakarta in Java island for 3 nights and Bali for 4 nights. The length of each location was excellent, if you have time maybe another night in Singapore would be nice. Borobudur in Yogyakarta was amazing, the highlight of our trip! We stayed in Plataran Borobudur resort. This resort met all Our expectations, our room was an individual luxury bungalow. Specious room with AC and bathroom, wood deck with comfortable seating and gorgeous views of the jungle and mountains.. We cannot erase that view from our minds. They have 3 restaurants, the one on top of the hill was our favorite. They serve gourmet food, Thanks to chef Ikbal and his team. Everything we ordered was delicious with American standards. Combination of Italian, American & Asian menu) we have 3 teenagers, I cannot tell you what an amazing trip it was for them to get a new perspective in life. Visited Hindu and Buddhist temples, trekked through rice fields and enjoyed visiting one of the oldest pyramids in Borobudur. Bali was nice but please stay away from conggu beach area, it was too busy,, commercial and dirty for us. We avoid street food and carried bottled water at all tomes, we were fine during our trip. If you contact the resort Platoran please ask for the tour guide Kako, everyone knows him. He was the very best with great English and knowledge. He assigned very good driver mas wawan. nice person, helpfull, very accomodating with our itinerary and fun. we booked hi ace for 7 people, the car was clean, aircon was cool and provided mineral water everyday. My guides name was ETON! And let me tell you I have been to 34 countries so far and this was the best investment I have made! One month before traveling, I was doing my first solo trip overseas, I booked and contacted him for the tour. He responded right away and we exchanged WhatsApp numbers to communicate better. He was amazing I gave him a list of everything that I wanted to see and possible things to see. Then he created a custom itinerary based on my interests and adjusted as necessary! I have never had a tour guide that was so passionate, organized and as professional as he was! There were five of us and we contacted Pak Eton for hiring a car with a driver while we were on holiday in Yogyakarta. The car was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Our driver was great and so helpful. Pak Eton went beyond and above just a car hire but also helped us with our trip planning.
Our driver, Mas En, took our group of 7 people in a Toyota Hi-Ace which was comfortable and accomodating for our group size. He was a very safe driver and he was able to maintain a flexible schedule while also being punctual. He spoke fantastic English and was very knowledgeable about Yogyakarta's culture and people and Javanese culture as a whole. Mas En took us to many tourist locations in the city and surrounding areas and even showed us his favourite local places to eat. His kindness towards us and general hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed. Mas En is a great guy and an amazing tour guide who really made our entire trip to Yogyakarta so much more enjoyable and stress-free. I visited Jogja for 4 days on November 2019. Since i'm interested in photography and since Eton knows a lot..and i mean a lot of photo spots in Jogja just like the backyard of his owm home, i really really enjoy the trip. From when I came to the Tugu station early in the day until I finally decided to return to my town by not using the train anymore but using this eton rent car... Minus complaining... service satisfying... driver who knows everything and is very cooperative... even asked for help at 11 p.m. to find a cure, still willing to look up until delivered to the hotel...
