Borobudur(climb Up), Merapi Volcano And Prambanan Temple Tour

A great day spent a prambanan and Borobudur with our very knowledgeable and able driver BHIMO. He was extremely attentive to all our needs and was always ready to travel the extra mile for us . All in all 5/5 for him.

Dhori was an awesome driver, he is laughing all the time, it was nice sharing this expérience with him. For each place there was a specific guided tour (private jeep in Merapi), so you can go at your own pace. It's quite a long day the all 3 activities in one but it's doable and totally enough time. We even had a stop to discover the famous Civet Coffea, worth a try. I did not feel the need to book a sunrise or sunset experience (that might be irrelevant because of the weather), so this tour from 7am till 5pm its perfect as it is.

We really enjoyed our excursion with Hendra. He is welcoming and easy to communicate with. He was also attentive to our needs; when we wanted to eat, he was happy to stop and introduced us to a local restaurant. Many thanks again to Hendra for his kindness. As for the excursion itself, it was well-organized and accurately matched the description. We were given plenty of time to enjoy the locations. Communication with the agency was also seamless.

I had a lovely tour, I did the sunrise at Punthuk Setumbu hill and Bimo picked me up right at the train station, and even brought chairs for us to sit. He was a great photographer and videographer. Then we ate at this lovely cafe and he guided me towards the Borobudur temple and I joined another guided group tour there. After that, we went to the Merapi Lava Jeep tour and then we stopped by a street vendor to try some snake fruit! Bimo drove me all the way back to the airport and the entire thing was a private tour! It was a beautiful day and I was so at ease and comfortable!

Bhimo was fantastic! He escorted us all the way to the entrance of every place we visited, making sure we didn’t miss anything. Outstanding, professional service and a safe guide. All the excursions and tour companies he selected were amazing — we felt like true VIPs the entire time with professional treatment throughout! What makes him truly special is his genuine friendliness. He was so kind that he even let us sing along during the tour — despite our less-than-perfect voices! 😄 Highly recommended!

Although the weather wasn’t in our favour and the cloud/fog meant we didn’t see much of a sunrise at Borobudur Temple, and could not see Mount Merapi, we still had such a great time visiting all the sights on this tour! It was such a fun and interesting day out, made even better by our wonderful driver Bhimo. Bhimo was so kind, he drove well and always ensured we didn’t feel rushed when visiting each of the sights. A great day with great company.

The sights were breathtaking, but our driver, Fajar, is the one who truly made this experience unforgettable. He was exceptionally nice, polite, and always had a friendly smile. His English is very good, which made communication completely effortless. Fajar really went above and beyond, doing absolutely everything for us to ensure we were comfortable, relaxed, and happy throughout the entire day. We couldn't have asked for a better driver. We had visited Borobudur in October 2025. Our trip covered a trip to Borobudur temple, Prambanan temple, and a visit to the Merapi volcanoes. The trip was for a duration of 4 days. We had booked all three with Borobudur sunrise and I would say it was one of the wisest decision we made. The trips were very well paced giving us ample opportunity to immerse in the experience the place afforded. Our driver and guide Rama was always on time with a broad smile. We will definitely go back once more with them. A big thanks to Mr. Tinton Arya to help us savour the experience.

Great guide in Eko, professional, friendly and knowledgeable - a good conversationalist on the long drives between each destination. Everything expertly organised including tickets for each attraction. Enjoyed the experience so much hired them and Eko again for more sightseeing two days later. No hesitation in recommending.

This was a fantastic tour. Incredible views of mount merapi and the temples are so stunning. Tomo, my driver, was informative and lovely to have a conversation with on the long drives. The scenery on the drive is also spectacular. The temples are beautiful and the experience inside is smooth and enlightening. All well worth the cost of the tour and definitely worth it for a solo traveler.

It was a very early start, but from the moment we met our guide/driver Pras at our hotel, we felt good about our choice. We had touched base over WhatsApp in the days before our trip and on the day, everything went to plan. We chose the full day, sunrise option and enjoyed it all. Nothing was rushed and Pras drive like a champion - which is reassuring in some crazy traffic conditions! Borobadur was the highlight for us and while the route the Jeep took us at Merapi didn't look spectacular, the driver was a very good guide and filled us in on a lot of the history (and damage) caused by recent eruptions. If you have time constraints that means you can't fit it in on separate days, or if you just want to cross off the highlights on a single day before finishing with dinner and a beer. I can highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I did the sunrise Borobudur, Merapi jeep tour and Prambanan. Our driver Bhimo was fantastic - he drove well, the car was clean and he was happy to chat and answer any questions we had. He handed us over to 3 amazing tour guides at our destinations; all of whom were knowledgeable and again happy to answer questions. There was no rush or pressure and we had a fantastic day. Borobudur temple is an amazing place everyone should see. You get your own slippers that you can keep after the tour if you want. The guides are very professional and the visit duration is just fine. For merapi, we visited the bunker that was built to protect the people from hot ashes after the explosion, but failed in 2006 due to too much lava and a memorial place for the victims. We did not see the volcano itself due to clouds. Prambanan temple is a remarkable place of hindu architecture that is still being repaired ( a lot of little towers collapsed in an earthquake). You get to visit all 4 rooms of the main ( siwa) temple and are free to roam the park and other smaller temples in it. However, the Sewu temple was unavailable due to unknown reasons ( signs only in local language).

The trip with our Guide Bhimo was super confortable. He took care of everything and we could just enjoy the Borobudur. The Merapi Lava Tour was a little disappointing, we couldn't see the Merapi because of the Clouds and the rest of the Tour was no real Vulcano feeling as we expected.

I went to Borobudur, Merapi, and Prambanan on my tour. There’s some distance between each of the sites—the tour begins at 7 and ends in the late afternoon—but everything was organized well and in advance, which made for a streamlined experience. Hendra, the driver who took me to the different sites, was great: friendly, helpful, and enjoyable to talk to.

I’d like to share my experience in Yogyakarta with Bhimo, an excellent driver and local guide. Everything was super easy and well organized—always punctual and very willing to help. He took me without any issues to all the places I wanted to visit and, on top of that, he took the time to explain things and show me details at each stop—it wasn’t just “a ride and that’s it.” Bhimo is very kind, attentive, and patient, and you can tell he truly tries to give you the best possible experience as a local guide. I highly recommend him if you’re in Yogyakarta and want to visit different points of interest with someone you can trust.

I've seen a lot of positive reviews and recommendations on the internet for Borobudur Sunrise and wasn't disappointed. I did realize it was a little pricey compared to the rest of other internet offers, but think it's well worth every penny for the experience, services, and positive memory. Good communication throughout. Fajar was our driver for the day. Thumbs up for his driving skills: never playing with the phone, looking at text, or losing focus from the roads. Mt. Merapi was pretty, knowing it's still active and can blow anytime give a sense of adventure. Fajar picked out a nice lunch spot that overlooked a rice field. The lunch was delicious, Indonesian sambals are the bombs! The Prambanan was also nice, but quite big. We was tired at the point so just visited the three main temples. Overall, super happy of picking Borobudur Sunrise for our experience, no regret at all!

The temples are truly the highlight — incredibly beautiful, fascinating, and full of atmosphere. The visit to Mount Merapi by jeep was nice, but nothing extraordinary in my opinion, especially if you're traveling alone. Unfortunately, the volcano was completely covered by clouds, so it ended up being more of a short nature trip outside the city. The off-road part was quite limited as well. The jeep drivers are very competent, even if the condition of the jeeps might worry you at first. Bhimo, the driver who picked me up from the hotel, was very friendly, helpful, and a highly skilled driver ;) Thanks to him, we spent as little time as possible stuck in traffic. Overall, I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to visit multiple attractions in one day without having to worry about tickets or logistics, since everything was already included in the package.

We booked this tour, as we wanted to go to the famous sights in one day, along with our tight schedule. I was going with my father and we want something hassel free. This is why we picked this tour. Our driver Eko is very friendly. He communicated with me a day ahead, arrived to pick us up on time, and he made sure that we are okay before we went to the temples and the volcano. The temples are amazing. Nice to know plenty of the history. I guess people should come once in a lifetime. Although it was unfortunate the weather was cloudy and we could not see the volcano, at least we got to feel the power and beauty around the Merapi. Highly recommend!!

Today, our lovely tour guide Miko brought my cousin and I from the hotel (which was 30 minutes from the city centre) to the Borobudur, the Merapi Vulcano and the Prambanan temples. It was amazing! He made sure we had everything we needed and were on time at all locations. Furthermore he drove us to an amazing restaurant for lunch nearby the Prambanan temples & recommended we try the famous luwak coffee as our last stop before we went back to the hotel. Overall, the tour was amazing and took up a whole day - but the time flew by. We had so much fun! Therefore, I would recommend taking this tour if you want to fill your day with exploring Yogya’s heritage. :) Having Miko as a driver also added to this experience: he is a very friendly, funny person, and always on time! One last tip: if you’re doing the Merapi Jeep ride on a cloudy day: go for the river-route instead of the bunker. You might get wet. ;)

I recommend doing the tour of the temples with the volcano, it was very fun and definitely stunning. We were lucky that the sky was clear and we got to see the volcano completely. The temples are amazing as well. Borobudur has it’s own guides and you go up in groups. Prambanan has the guide as optional but we didn’t get it. It has a large garden area and 2 more temples inside. Pras was our tour guide and he gave us a lot of information, was kind and funny! Thank you everything!

Fucjar isn’t just a driver, he is an high skilled tour guide that does his job with passion and he is able transmit it to his guest. Our experience with him, in the tour of Borobudur and Prambanam, was amazing. Need to be mention also Ricco official guide of Prambanam, he is hilarious and so prepared regarding everything that regards the temple. Definitely recommended!!!

I had an excellent tour of Borobudur, the volcano, and Prambanan. The trip was very well organized and perfectly paced, allowing me to truly enjoy each site without feeling rushed. My guide and driver, Faisal, was incredibly kind, fun to be with, and very well-informed, which made for great conversations throughout the day. I especially appreciated that he took me to a Batik shop, where I found and bought a beautiful handmade piece. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I enjoyed it very much!

I had a great trip with Faiqu! He was a great guide and the places we went to were incredible. I'd have preferred more time at Prambanan than Merapi but the volcano was still an interesting part of the trip.

A shout-out to our wonderful driver Fajar who made the long drive very interesting and to our guide in Prambanan, Rico. We did not manage to see much of Merapi because of the weather conditions, but all in all, waking up at 3am was worth it.
