Overall, it was a well-organized and memorable experience, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Yogyakarta who wants to see both of Central Java's landmark monuments in a single day. Guide and Transportation Dani was an excellent guide. His English was clear and fluent, which made the day easy to follow, and he was professional, punctual, and attentive throughout. Pick-up took place at 3:00 AM in a comfortable private car. Despite the early hour, the transfer was smooth and well managed, and the vehicle was clean and well maintained. Borobudur Sunrise The sunrise at Borobudur was beautiful, although the fog on the morning of our visit limited the views somewhat. This is a matter of weather rather than tour quality, and the misty atmosphere gave the temple a distinctive, serene character. Climbing to the top of the monument was a highlight, and the scale and detail of the stupas and relief carvings were impressive. The tour included an international breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety and was a welcome reward after the early start. Additional Stops Because Mendut Temple was closed for renovation, Dani took us to the nearby Mendut Monastery instead. This was a thoughtful alternative and a peaceful stop. We also visited a Loewak coffee location, where we learned about the production process and sampled the coffee, which was an interesting cultural addition. Prambanan Temple Prambanan was impressive, with its tall, intricately carved Hindu temple towers. It offered a striking contrast to the Buddhist architecture of Borobudur. One point to note is that the tour did not include a local guide at Prambanan. Having one would have provided deeper historical and cultural context for the site. Suggestions for Improvement Two small improvements would make this tour even better. First, including a local guide at Prambanan would enrich the visit considerably. Second, adding a stop at the "Chicken Church" (Bukit Rhema House of Prayer for All Nations, locally known as Gereja Ayam) would be a worthwhile addition. It is a unique and photogenic landmark near Borobudur and would fit well into the itinerary. Conclusion This was a very good tour, made especially enjoyable by Dani's knowledge, language skills, and hospitality. The itinerary was well paced, the arrangements were comfortable, and the value was strong. With a local guide at Prambanan and a stop at the Chicken Church, it would be outstanding. I highly recommend Dani and this tour.

The arrangement is excellent. Coordinator Arie is very helpful, offering great advice. The driver Natt is very friendly n knowledgeable. He drives excellently and he tells much about the history and cultures of Indonesia. Great experience for me. He gives wonderful recommendations on food and places to visit. Really enjoyable experience.

Our guide Dani was excellent. He was intelligent and informative. His English is good. His knowledge of the temples was good and he took time to explain things. He was friendly and kind. I would request him if possible. It’s a long day seeing both Borobudur and Prambanam. We had a delicious lunch between temple visits. Dani always had cold water ready for us. A great experience.

Very well organized and excellent staff-client communications. Our specific guide Maxi was a star: arrived early, exceeded all measures of politeness and took outstanding dint care of us for the day. Explained procedures at the temples, did excellent handovers to local guides and met us with excruciating timeliness. If you get Maxi, consider yourself really well taken care of!

My friend recommended to book the tour (visiting the 2 big temples in Yogyakarta) with Matthias. The private tour (me + my partner) was a whole day (early morning pick up and back in the hotel around 17.00ish). The temples are beautiful and worth visiting, as well the stories behind the creation of the temples and the religions. Really happy that we’d Matthias as driver/guide as the Borobudur guide didn’t actually tell much about the history etc of the temple, so we could ask all our questions to Matthias - who explains very well and his English is great! I’ve learned so much of the Indonesian culture, religions and the temples that day because of the explanations by Matthias, and always happy to answer my questions (and I ask a lot haha). He is also a good couple photographer; got some nice pics of the day! Thanks Matthias ☺️

It was an amazing trip with our driver Dani! He was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Aside from being a very knowledgeable guide, he was so considerate of me and my Mom and made sure we were comfortable throughout! Wonderful tour though the temples. Our guide Seta was just perfect. He speaks very well English and was able to grant us every wish. From the typical Luwak coffee, to a perfect restaurant for lunch, he suggested us the best places. We also followed his suggestion to wait for the sunset at the temples, this was just beautiful. Overall we were more than happy with Seta and the experience, I can only recommend 😀 Bravo!

I booked the Borobudur Temple Climb to the Top & Prambanan Temple 1-day tour, and it turned out to be an amazing day, mostly thanks to my driver, Bima. He picked me up from the hotel right on time and kept everything running smoothly. He also helped arrange private guides at both temples, which made the visits much more interesting and personal. Bima’s English was great, so chatting with him was easy and enjoyable. Overall, he was reliable, helpful, and made the whole temple trip even better.

After a 10 years long wait, finally we visited Borobudur, and visited Prambanan, Suttan's Castle, Water castle and the oldest Buddhist monastery. Throughout that, our guide Mr Ferry was a great help. A competent and decent guide, knowledgeable in all historical sites. We heartily recommend him for all future visitors.

A very well run & organised trip. I had Maxi as my driver for the day, who met me at 6am and gave a lowdown of the day and Yogyakarta in general. We headed to a small temple en route to Borobudur where Maxi gave me a personal tour full of knowledge & jokes. Following this a quick pitstop for coffee & any breakfast snacks needed before heading into Borobudur. A full tour guide experience, in a pair of rather comfortable pandan shoes. Maxi looked after my stuff during the tour and met me afterwards. He adapted the tour to meet my breakfast needs, a nasi goreng & spicy sambal. Then we had a relaxed journey to Prambanan temple where Maxi turned tour guide again. He gave me a full explanation of the history and setting of the temple, while guiding me to expert photospots. Ending with a short walk to the Buddhist temples at Prambanan, we topped up with water and Maxi drove me back to my hotel. 5/5, would highly recommend doing this tour and definitely ask for Maxi! I will pass on his details to my friends when they come to Yogyakarta. Oh and a cold towel was waiting for me each time I got in the car, champion tour guide.

We had a unforgettable day with our guide Bima today. Bima is very professional. He contacted me the day before and confirmed the tour and all details. He turned up 15 min before and waiting for us. The communication from Tour company and guide was good. Maxie the tour guide was early. He was solicitious and had prepared umbrella, cold drinks and even cold face towels for the care and comfort of his guests. Luckily too as it was extremely hot and then it rained. Borobudur was great. The price included the mandatory tour guide on site explaining the history and carvings. It rained heavily when we got to Parambaran. I did not need a tour guide as Maxie was able to provide the background. It was dark in the temples so a bit difficult to view the statues. I would definitely recommend the tour company and Maxie

Worth the early morning - a lifelong dream made a reality and I'm so glad I experienced it this way!

Our guide Dani was super knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. The tour was super comfortable and worry-free. Dani took care of everything and knew everyone at the places we went to, so everyone treated us wonderfully and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. He taught us about the history of religion in Indonesia—including the many symbolisms and parables of both Hinduism and Buddhism, making the visit even more enjoyable. He even recommended some very interesting questions to ask the temple guides! Where they fell short, we got the full story and background. Dani also took us to an additional monastery, where we took walkthrough of Buddha’s life and path to enlightenment, depicted by beautiful statues laid out chronologically in a idillic and peaceful garden. We were also able to keep the experience flexible and attend to any needs. You need just ask! In top of that the temples were amazing, as you would expect. Would recommend!

Dani our guide is THE Fountain of Knowledge. If you want to know the histories of Boropudur and Prambanan and the dynasties associated with them then ask for Dani! There is nothing that he doesn't know. The tour was very enjoyable and would throughly recommend. We even stopped to try Kopi Laewak definitely something you should tick from your bucket list. We had Dani as our driver for a tour of Borobudur, Mendut and Prambanan. He was right on time for the hotel pickup. Dani was very friendly and accommodating, his English was good, and he had a great knowledge of Indonesian history, Buddhism and Hinduism around the time the temples were built. Also, the lunch place he took us to near Prambanan was excellent.

They charged me the $195, and I never heard a single word from them. A total scam. Do not recommend.
