Made what could’ve been a stressful and travel-intense day (several hours of driving) a pleasure and allowed me to truly engage with the two UNESCO sites. This was a fantastic tour for our first time in Indonesia. Our tour guide was Eko who was very knowledgable about a wide range of topics. Both Borobudur and Prambanan were worth visiting, though one should be prepared for the sun and heat. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting these sites.
Our guide Ecco was the best. He picked us up promptly at 3:15. He helped me try on four different size slippers to make sure I got the right ones on the climb up Borobudur. He was very patient. We loved our time at Prambanan also. I highly recommend this tour!

A fantastic day visiting Borobudur and Prambanan Temples. Perfectly paced and we were very happy with our decision to see both temples in one day. Our driver Ridwan was friendly, accommodating, and professional and drove with caution at all times. Our guide at Borobudur was informative and we opted to tour Prambanan without a guide which worked well for us. A great day and we highly recommend this tour.
Jarot was a great driver and guide. He was very accommodating and knew all the best spots to stop for coffee or food. Extremely helpful. The tour itself is pretty seamless since the tickets are included, so you're never queueing and you're told where to go. Most people you see and Borobudur you will see again is Prambanan since those two are often combined in people's plan. I've traveled a lot and seen countless temples but Prambanan is special, hard to explain. It gave me a similar feeling to Angor Wat (obviously the propositions don't compare). But beware that in the dry season, this will be a HOT day. By 9am I was wondering how I would cope until 5pm. I advise taking am umbrella, portable fan, straying from the tour in Borobudur to stand in the shade if needed, otherwise the day is a challenge.
A great day out to see both Chandi (temples). Dhanu was a safe driver, with excellent English and a wealth of knowledge about all things as we drove about.
We booked the Prambanan and Borobudur private tour with Journeast Indonesia, which proved to be an excellent choice. In the morning, we were picked up by our driver, Didot, who not only drove us from temple to temple, but also explained a lot about the history and culture of Yogyakarta.
We had a great day visiting both sites, Jarot our driver was friendly and played all the great tunes in the car.

Both temples were beautiful, Borobodur currently has construction work which took away from the majesty and experience somewhat but the views away over the mountains and the information and stories given by the local guide made up for this. Prambanan was a spectacular highlight, the main temple complex is beautiful with many shrines to discover. Our guide and driver Bayo was friendly, informative and made sure every part of the day went smoothly. The vehicle was very large and comfortable to travel in.
Unlike my other bookings In Yogyakarta for hotel and drivers, I did not receive any confirmation communication from the tour company about when exactly to meet my driver for the trip to Borobudur the morning of the tour, so I was quite worried if they’d forgotten about me. I had booked the 8:30am time slot. Fortunately, my driver, Irhas, was waiting for me at my hotel lobby. If I had been informed accurately, we could have set off prior to 8:30am, but I was not notified. As it was a long drive, Irhas made up time so that I could still make it for the Borobudur tour time. En route, he even told me about things we saw along the way. At Borobudur, Irhas led me to the local guide, Hari, who did a great job explaining all about Borobudur. Alas! I picked a day when the topmost level was closed off due to maintenance works. That was actually where I wanted to see the most. Next, Irhas drove me to Prambanan and then explained the background of this Temple Complex. I never knew that there were both Hindu and Buddhist Temples here. All in all, it was an amazingly enlightening day for me and I learnt so much! Was also glad to be able to tick off 2 more places on my UNESCO bucket list.
My partner and I had a great experience with our driver Jarot. Our tickets for both temples were sorted and he showed us where to go when we arrived at each. We were able to take our time at each location and we had time to stop at a nice restaurant for lunch. The pick up and drop off at our hotel was seamless.

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Prambanan and Borobudur temples with Yudi. He was extremely punctual, friendly and helpful throughout the whole day, and did much more than simply drive us around. He helped us discover the culture and history of Java and Indonesia and took care of everything at the temples — tickets, water, entrance and exit points, and finding our guide — making the whole experience easy and stress-free. He also helped us find an ATM when we had no cash and even offered to lend us some money. He bought us some local fruit to try, recommended a great restaurant, and was always available to help with anything we needed. Both temples were absolutely amazing, and we loved the whole experience. The agency organized everything perfectly, and Yudi made the day even more special with his kindness and attention. We highly recommend both the agency and Yudi!

The entire day was made easy by our brilliant tour guide, Ekko. We received clear instructions the evening before and we were picked up at 7am and driven to Borobudur. Ekko was extremely entertaining and answered all our questions on culture, history and food. Onsite we were walked by our guide to pick up our slippers, explain the process and gave us clear instructions on where to meet afterwards. It was an amazing experience and well worth the visit. We were then driven to Prambanan and we hsd a number of stops on the way to see a few temples and monastry, and a wonderful lunch. At Prambanan, Ekko once more wslked us in, explained the walking route and where to meet. The entire group are seasoned travellers, but we all loved the tour and the experience. A big thank you to Ekko for taking such good care of us. I would highly recommend this tour. There were 4 of us, Australian and Dutch, the car was a van and very comfortable.

We went on the Borobudur sunrise trip. The whole experience was seamless. Our driver, Jared was on time, friendly, and informative. Borobudur temple is beautiful with a long interesting history. We also saw the sunrise over the tip of one of the volcanos. Worth the early wake.
My driver Ridwan was great! We had good chats about the area and he gave me some good food recommendations close to where I was staying. After a perfect hotel pickup, we got to Borobudur with plenty of time to check in and join the group tour. The view was phenomenal and the sunrise was gorgeous. I appreciated the history of the temple. The breakfast served afterward at the base of the temple grounds was delicious as well. We then went to Prambanan and i was set up with a wonderful guide there who explained the building of, destruction of and rebuilding of the temples on the grounds. As we toured i got told the story the carved reliefs detailed and an explanation of the dieties the temples are built to honor. Afterward we stopped for coffee that I wanted to try and am incredibly grateful for the experience. A very good and very successful tour for my last day in the city.
We enjoyed every minute of the day. Our guide Dhanu brought us to the two temples of Borobudur and Prambanan while sharing many insights about Indonesia. The visits have been fantastic and very well organized. At the end of the day we enjoyed a cup of the famous kopi luwak coffee in a real rostery. We highly recommend this tour and our guide Dhanu! I had a great experience with this tour. Our driver, Hendra, had excellent English and was very funny. He made the process far more streamlined than if we had decided to go without the tour. We went on a Saturday, so both temples were busy but not overwhelmingly so. The tour we booked included the Mendut temple, which currently doesn't have much to see as it is under repairs. However, the monastery next door is open and well worth the deviation. Also, the restaurant that Hendra brought us to was genuinely very nice and well priced for the food. If you don't have much time in Yogyakarta, this is a very good way to see both major temples.
Watching the sunrise over Borobudur was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. The early wake-up was completely worth it, and walking through one of the world’s most incredible historic sites as the sun came up made the experience even more special. If you’re visiting Yogyakarta, don’t miss this-it was worth every minute.

We visited Borobudur and Prambanan with this agency. We also got picket up in the airport. Prior to starting the trip and getting picked up, communication was extremely clear and reliable. We left our luggage in the car and were confident that they were safe as it of course happened. During the tour, our driver/ guide Ekko was extremely nice and provided valuable insights on the country/tour/other. We would definitely recommend people to take on this tour!!
My tour manager and driver Rudi went above and beyond to make sure that my trip was safe, comfortable, and enjoyable throughout. He could speak English as well as the language of my country, so communicating was very easy. One tip I have for those interested in the one-day tour: I would highly recommend that you go for all-inclusive options. While they are more expensive, tickets and other incidental costs are all taken care of in advance, and entirely stress free. Cold water bottle were provided and the car ride was very comfortable. Of course, the temples were beautiful and definitely worth the visit. Rudi is highly recommended as well as Journeast. I’d use their service again if I’m back in Jogja!
