Borobudur, Merapi Volcano And Prambanan Temple Private Tour

Had a great day with our guide/driver Toni, pick up and drop off at our hotel, Borobudur, Prambanan and Merapi visit were all included. The Jeep ride to the Merapi was included. This tour is great for tourists visiting Jogya for the first time.

The private tour was easy and worry free. It was a long day as the attractions are spread-out and each attractions took 1 to 1.5 hours. Our driver Windra picked us up from the hotel, gave heads up of what go expect prior to each attraction. We have excellent guides for each attractions: Suseno for Prambanan - Hindu Temple, Hatta for Borobudur - Buddhist Temple, and Boim for the Merapi 4x4 jeep experience. This tour is perfect for people with limited time by hitting the “Big Three” attractions in a day.

My driver Arya was exceptional, he boosted the experience to another level with his professionalism, being very personable and positive throughout the tour. There were a couple of coffee stops that Arya picked which were great, he also offered a lunch location however I declined. He looked after me very well. He was extremely helpful, polite and a very safe driver given the roadways and traffic in Yogyakarta. He is certainly an asset to your company. Further, my driver of the Jeep at Merapi named Fanny was exceptional, safe, professional and friendly when touring Merapi, he has a great knowledge base of the area and history, further his English is exceptional. He made the whole experience even better.

We had great day with our driver Vega. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we all had a great time. Pick up was on time and communication beforehand was very good. Vega suggested to do the temples in reverse order to beat the crowds which actually worked out very well - this way we got to take pictures at Borobudur in the golden light of the late afternoon. Both temples are amazingly beautiful and definitely worth visiting. The jeep tour was a fun intermission, unfortunately Merapi was hidden in clouds the day we went but on a clear day I’m sure it’s a spectacular sight. The mini museum was interesting for a perspective on the force of destruction of one of the most active volcanoes on earth. All in all, thank you for the amazing day!

The experience itself was amazing. My driver/guide Vega was so friendly and helpful, I could tell that he genuinely enjoys showing tourists around his hometown. He shared lots of local insights into the culture and even introduced me to a new kind of fruit! He was very kind and thoughtful. The Borobudur sunrise tour is a must if you can afford it and if you are a photographer or nature lover. Mount Merapi was an opportunity to explore a different side of life in Java. Prambanan was magnificent and impressive!

We had a wonderful full day of adventures at Borobudur temple, Merapi volcano and Prambanan temple. Our driver and guide Fajar made our tour so comfortable and pleasant We definitely recommend this tour to those seeking active full day at Ygyakarta, it is well worth it.

My friends and I are visiting from Aus. We got the standard ticket which included all the admission fees for borobudur, melapi and prambanan. Our guide (our Budi ;) ) was so helpful, providing us with good places to eat when we needed it. He dropped us off at each of our destinations and hung around to pick us up. Each place has its own guide included in the admission fee except Prambanan but you really don’t need it. Jeep driving in the river was so fun at merapi. Definitely recommend!

An all inclusive day. It was wonderful. Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was very flexible for us and one traveler that needed help.

Had A Wonderful and Lovely Trip with My Wife. Budi from JoTou took good care of us while we were in Jogjakarta. He was always punctual respectful, friendly, accommodating and made sure we felt comfortable during our tour. We’re going to miss our daily chit- chat and banter with Budi. My wife and I had a great time visiting Boroburdu climb up, Merapi volcano and Prambanan private tour. The guide person is awesome( I don’t know how to write his name, so please disregard) , knowledgeable , local expertise and excellent communication. I highly recommended him

Our guide was Vega for the day, and we could have not been luckier with him! He made the tour smooth! We started with Borobodur, and we did not have to stand in line at all, caught the 8:30 guided tour! It was breathtaking! Then thr Jeep tour and finally the Prambanan complex! Between activities we had plenty of time to chill, and Vega told us stories about everyday life in Yogya! We had a blast! We expected a lot from the UNESCO wonders, but this tour made it even better!

The tour guide was really good,. Perfect English and very friendly and knowledgeable guy. We visited the temples and had a Jeep ride to the volcano. It was a really good experience, but be warned. It’s a very long day to fit in two temple sites plus the jeep ride to the volcano. The plus was the guide did a great job. The minus is communication with Viator. The voucher said at 7:30 AM pick up. The guide was told 8 AM pick up so there was confusion there. It turns out the temple does not open till 9 AM so there would be no point in leaving at 7:30 AM . When the guide did not show up at 7:30 AM I tried to contact Viator , but there really is absolutely no way to get a hold of them. There’s no phone number on the voucher and the Viator help section Does not have a link to either call. Email or text them. This would be a real problem had there to been a significant issue. The hotel front desk called the tour operator and we learned that he was instructed to pickup 30 minutes later than the Viator voucher specified.

Vega, our guide, was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly flexible and shared a wealth of knowledge about the temples and the volcano 🌋, making the experience truly enriching. Not only that, but he went above and beyond by helping us find a train for the next day 🚆 and offering great recommendations for how to spend our evening in Jogja 🌙. We couldn't have asked for a better guide—thank you so much, Vega!

Borobudur climb is tightly managed by the authorities at the site. You may get lucky and get a good local guide at Borobudur with a strong command of English (or not). Merapi was interesting, but if you thought you would be looking into a volcanic caldera, well that's not what this volcano is about. You look at it from about 2 km away and from below. You do see the puffs of smoke coming out of course. The viewing area is a bit dusty, to be expected of course, and a line of local shops hoping to get some tourist money. Prambanan is a highlight, particularly if you get there for sunset. In some ways, this site was more satisfying than Borobudur. We did our tour over 2 days to these sites. I think trying to do it in one day on a hot and humid day would be tiring A good guide will also take you to clean places to eat, which our guide did. The food was excellent and amazing value for money.

What an amazing experience!!! We were lucky enough to have Adit as our local guide today!!! He was not just kind friendly and super funny but also 100 percent reliable Punctual , and we felt safe the whole trip We arranged the pick up for 7:30 and he was already waiting for us outside of our Hotel. Beside the 3 booked locations he additionally took us to a local coffee manufacturer.And afterwards to a real local restaurant. Adit is not just a real local but made us feel like we were his guests. The whole day was a five out of five stars experience!!! And,Adit was The main reason for that. I would recommend him strongly for any activities around this beautiful area of Java.

Our driver for the day was Ilham and he was fantastic! He had great information and great recommendations. I would hope to have him again anytime. The tours were great, it was about 1.5 hours at Borobudur, 1.5 hours at Merapi, and 1.5 hours at Prambanan. We thought that was perfect timing, it was enough to hear the history and see the sights and then keep moving. Overall the day was about 10 hours long.

Our guide Ilham was very friendly. He was interested in our home country, gave us some advice, and even stopped to let us try out some local fruit. It was also useful that we didn't need to fix entrance tickets. Unfortunately the tickets to climb to the top of the Borobudur were sold out, but that is common during this period. We could stay as long as we wanted at each stop, giving us the freedom to enjoy everything.

The tour is great ! It is an intense journey but so many things to see. My driver Bibis was so nice, thank you!

Overall we had a great day and Yusron, our driver, was very nice. However there are some things I wish went differently. Firstly and most upsetting - the Viator website explicitly said we could buy temple tickets for Borobudur on the spot. This was not true. Tickets needed to be purchased a month in advance. So while we were able to explore the temple grounds we could not climb to the top. Secondly, our driver was not a tour guide and did not make it clear when and how to acquire a tour guide at Borobudur. Fortunately there were informative plaques around the temple but it was definitely a bummer not to be able to ask any questions. After Borobudur we clarified we wanted a guide for prambanan and then our driver arranged this for us for an out of pocket cost. The Prambanan guide we were paired with was excellent and well worth the cost. Our driver also took us to the chicken church which was not part of the scheduled tour, but was a great experience and only a 6minute drive from Borobudur. The jeep tour of Merapi was great! Overall would recommend just wish there was more clarity about temple tickets on the website and little bit more structure and guidance from the driver.

We would definitely recommend this tour as we had a great day exploring Borobudur, Prambanan and Mount Merapi. Thoriq was our driver/guide for the day and he was very professional, punctual and we enjoyed chatting with him about Javanese lifestyle. He made sure we had enough time at each stop. We would definitely recommend taking this tour to see all these amazing sites!

Nice trip, Yousron is very chill and engaging. Activities are great. Beside that, I recommand you to check if the weather is cloudy to enjoy the sunrise completely. And book in advance a ticket for borobodur rooftoop.

Wow so many things in one day - sunrise, temples, jeeps! All together it was very fun. We had to make a few adjustments and the weather didn't always cooperate but my guide Yusron held everything together and kept me informed. Special props to him! I am grateful that tour worked out despite all the variables and I wouldn't miss any part of it.

We booked this day tour on viator and were super happy. We enjoyed every moment of this trip. Vega, our driver, was super friendly and very good driver. He tell us a lot about Jogja and oud landmarks, bring us a lot of water. Because we had our tour in Borobudur a bit later (at 9.30), he suggested us some additional activities (we went to Chicken church, enjoy views and had perfect coffee and breakfest). Also on merapi jeep tour, they gave us some extra activity, because Merap was in the clouds most of the time. But it was very nice! Maybe just take additional clothes for this jeep tour, becuse driving to the river is super fun, but you can get wet! :) So, i really suggest this trip, we had really good time! :)

The Guide/Driver was amazing :) Loved every minute of it. We got to some special locations which we never would have found alone.

Even if we did not see the sunrise, since it was raining, our good driver Pras made the travel experience really worth the early rise. The views were spectacular.

Great tour and Yust was the best guide. He even made sure I was the first to enter Borobudur that day so I had to privilege to walk around privately and take pictures with no other people in it. Very unique!

Really is a full day trip, from 3:45 am hotel pick up to 7 pm drop off. I had an amazing driver, Budi, who shared some info on the sites and is an overall very cool, polite person. They were able to get me tickets to walk up the Borobudur temple and it was a beautiful experience and a privilege to be able go walk up. I stayed for sunset at the Prambanan and my driver shared where to eat and get some snacks. Was a great experience and a wonderful way to experience Java. Would definitely recommend!

The SBMP tour is a great choice if you are spending few days in Yogya, because it allows you to see many amazing places in the same day. Our driver Fajar has been an essential part of it, he gave us many tips and explained us many aspects of Yogya life and habits. Always friendly and organized, he was our Cicerone in this tour.

Had a great tour today! This was mainly due to a great guide Vega who drove me everywhere, accompanied me where needed and gave me great tips about food and other sightseeings. All in all a perfect day that I would recommand to everyone!

Really good day. Our driver Joko was very helpful and got us really good guides for all parts of the tour. We had bad luck with the sunrise as it was cloudy, but that's unpredictable. Everything else was very good experience.

Tanto from the company reached out as soon as we booked the trip. He is quite patient, has good communication skills and easy to work with. Our driver Wawan was lovely too, listened to all our request, was quite flexible on timing and made us (two girls) feel pretty comfortable. Highly recommend the company.

I felt completely cheated by Trip Advisor on this tour. For starters I was told this would be a private tour. For a single adult it was priced at USD 170 whereas for more than one it was priced at USD 125. I was surprised to see that in the morning there was one other person on the tour. And the frustration in the fact that he was charged USD 125 or lesser. I was also charged an additional 15 USD for the Borabudur temple climb whereas the other person on the tour paid USD 125 including this too. The tour operator completely blamed Trip Advisor for this. This is absolutely disgusting and disappointing.

Excellent and well organized tour. Our driver Pras was great. If you have sufficient time, consider splitting the trip over 2 days. It was a lot, maybe a little too much, for just one day.

Borobudur was the highlight of this tour for me! It was an amazing opportunity to see both temples. The Merapi Jeep Tour was fun as well but mostly consisted of seeing a small museum and then driving through some water, as the clouds covered the view of the volcano the day that we went. The only note that I had is that we were provided a guide for Borobudur but not Prambanan, and I would have really loved to have a guide for both temples because I felt like I was missing out on learning about Prambanan, we were just instructed to walk around at our leisure. Overall it was a good tour and our guide was very helpful, giving me advice on my future endeavor to Mt. Bromo and helping me purchase my train tickets in advance.

Great experience, visiting historical temples and Merapi Volcano. My, guide, Dwi was awesome and so kind. Thanks to his accommodations, I could visit Borobudur Temple on the first truck and enjoyed Kopi luwak at nice coffee at roadside.

Thanks Tanto for an unforgettable experience. Tanto and his team are excellent. I was communicated prior to my trip to inform me about my booked date and confirm date and time and again the day before the trip. I this the customer service was excellent ensuring during booking and raising any queries. The actual tour was really good. The car was comfortable and at each stage of my day Tanto explained what and where we were going and a brief history / info about the place. I’d definitely recommend Tanto and his team to friends and family as I felt the whole package was well created including Tanto.

I would give this tour 10 stars if possible. It is an early morning but an awe-inspiring way to start your day. First watching the sunrise and arriving at Bodobudur before the crowds. Definitely try to get tickets to do the guided tour portion of Bodobudur. Our driver, Tony, was amazing! He knew so much and had a great sense of humor. He was very helpful but would also laugh with us about the differences between our countries. An awesome way to spend your day!
