One of our favorite day trips. Easy bike ride through quiet neighborhoods and past beautiful fields. Informative stops along the way to learn about (and taste) chip making, tofu, and tea. Our guide (Randy) was friendly and informative. Great trip for children and older adults. We would do this again.

Very nice bike Tour for the whole family. They can custom the Tour if you want and have bikes for kids. We went to several places like kroepoek making and tofu making which felt however very authentic and honest. Very nice to do something different and get away from the crowds.
Randi had a small group of 4 people to take around the rural areas and villages close to Prambanan, including myself. The meeting point was easily reached by Grab bike and we were fitted out with drinking water, a coolie hat and a suitable bike. The riding was easy and all on the flat. Randi did a great job keeping us together and safe. We stopped off by a rice paddy, a temple that is under reconstruction, and aplace were Kroepuk is made by hand in a traditional house. We then went on the see a place where tofu is made and finished at a place where the health drink jama which is a bit like chai tea. It was a delightful way to spend a morning and learn a little about rural life in this area.
Upon arrival we got a nice welcome and a bottle of water. Bikes where fine and the tour brought us to ricefields, a bee farm, a kroepoek factory, a temple and an old emping craftsman factory. The tour took about two hours. Afterwards we received another bottle of water. We can highly recommend this experience.
Great experience! The village was beautiful, the experience was amazing, scenery was breathtaking!
Surprisingly nice!!!! We could even cut rice ourselves :-)
Putri was such an informative guide, she was so warm and welcoming from the very start. When I booked the tour I didn’t know what to expect but we had an amazing time, picking chilli’s riding past rice fields and temples. We learnt how tofu was made and went to a stingless bee farm was just such a lovely afternoon highly recommend!
Very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and welcoming communities. Beautiful route too and good way to learn about traditional arts and crafts.
Our family of four had an amazing time doing the bike tour! Our guide, Randy, was friendly, informative, and sociable. We truly felt like we were immersed in the culture. Highly recommend!
Great guide and amazing time cycling through the villages. It was interesting to see the beefarm and how crackers are made. Everyone very friendly.
It was great to see the villages and temple. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Amazing Bike Tour – Even in the Rain! We had an incredible time on this bike tour! Since it was the low season, it ended up being just the two of us, which made it feel like a private, personalized experience. Even though it was raining a LOT, we still had a blast. Biking through the rice fields was beautiful, and the rain actually added to the atmosphere. We also loved stopping to try the local tofu and other snacks along the way—everything was delicious. If you're looking for a fun and authentic way to see the area, we really recommend this tour!
This tour was phenomenal. It’s so neat to ride through the country side in non-touristy areas. Nearly everyone we passed said hi or smiled. The tofu operation was interesting to see and it was fun to taste hot, fresh tofu. The stingless bee tour was absolutely incredible. The hosts were so gracious and shared homemade snacks. They were passionate about their craft and had vast knowledge of the different plants in the garden and what they did for the bees and the honey. A lot of times on tours like this you’re pressured to buy stuff at each stop, but there was zero pressure with this tour…but bring cash because the honey is unlike anything you’ve ever tasted.
It was an amazing tour by bike, with a very good guide who tells you a lot about the real (country) life, farming, making process of emping, tofu and honey. The bike are good and they have bikes for children en babyseat, incl helmet. Very great tour. Don't hesistate, book this bike-tour!
Was very beautiful to cycle here! Also suitable for small children, they have babyseats. The visits to the local factories were very interesting.
I had a great time all the way. Good value for money. I went in the morning so there was plenty of time to visit the temple afterwards. With only another couple in the group it felt like a private tour. The host was very nice and knowledgeable, adhering to the already great atmosphere.
We had a wonderful biking tour through the countryside! Our guide Randi was very thoughtful and the spots were very well picked. The bikes were also in good condition.
Great way to see rural Jogya, good length and lots of variety. learning about all the Indonesian traditional foods was so fun. Would recommend.
Our family had a great experience on this tour. It was both fun and interesting and would recommend to any family! The bikes were high-quality and we really enjoyed seeing so many cool things.
Amazing cycle tour with a very nice guide called Salwa. Would highly recommend if you want to see a traditional part of Indonesia. We took the tour at 12:30 and afterwards (15:00) we went to the Prambanan temple to see the amazing sunset (this is not included in the tour). Very easy to combine!
We discovered the creation of local food riding bike between each place. We could try and taste the products. The locals were welcoming !
This was a very nice and relaxing ride in rural scenery. The guide was good in English and we were guided securely by a moped stopping the traffic at crossings. Interesting visit of tofu factory and nice stingless bee farmer. We really enjoyed it.
Fantastic bike tour to the countryside near Candi Prambanan with visits to local businesses (farmers and producers). Well organized and worth a visit!
Was a very fun tour, would recommend!! We saw a lot of different things in Yogyakarta on our bikes. The tourguide was also very kind
It was a great experience! We did a bike tour along several authentic places around Prambanan, including a small temple. We discovered local agriculture and production of food. Afterwards, our host was willing to drive us to Prambanan.
We had a wonderful tour through Jogja. We saw how they make tahu, emping and the honey of stingless bees. We could taste everything and where very kind. Would totally recommend!
A wonderful bicycle tour which you absolutely should do when you are in Yogya. Cycling along the rice fields through quiet districts without any rush. We loved the visits to the beekeeper, tofu factory and the traditional emping krupuk house.
A fun bike tour. You'll visit locals and see how they make tofo and emping. People really enjoy seeing you cycle by. You'll also visit a beekeeper. Beautiful surroundings. Our guide make some nice pics from us. Very recommanded!
Very nice and safe trip. Friendly hosts. See the process of emping, honey, and tofu. Thank you so much for this nice tour!
Nice bicycle tour through villages close to Prambanan. The villagers still like it seeing us biking around. There is no pressure to buy anything during the tour at the stops. The locals just give interesting information and you can try yourself to make emping chips. Enough time to enjoy Local Life. This really is sustainable tourism. Cycling is better for the planet, the people go on with their own way of life, and part of the profit of this tour goes to the community. The guide was very professional and friendly.
Very nice tour! We enjoyed it with family, our 2 guides made it really safe for our kids (8 and 10 years old) organising the traffic at every intersection. Nice easy tour through the rice fields, and other countryside cultures and also very nice quick tour of honey fabric, tofu fabric and local peanuts chips maker. Kids loved it, so do we! Nice pics taken from our guides, Thousands of Hello's and smiles from local people and kids. Thanks for the tour!
An amazing cycling tour with Alga in the afternoon! It was very well organised. We passed by some beautiful landscapes with rice fields, a temple and some local houses. We also visited a traditional bamboo house, we could try making chips the local way and learned about the local honey production. Alga is supporting the local traditions and the people from the community. I totally recommend this tour to everyone !!
We had such an amazing experience at the tour! Me and my friend had a private tour. Our tour guide was extremely kind and thoughtful. She showed us a lot of cool places, such as a local tofu factory, beekeeper and we made emping. We learned a lot about the local agriculture. Would definetely recommend this tour! 10/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The views are amazing. Learn a lot of traditional culture. Very recommended for family and friends to gather around. Go have a try.
The tour was amazing. My children were so happy especially on the bee keeper visit and making emping. Interactive tour guides, told us so many amazing stories.
We had an amazing experience on the bike tour guided by Randi. From the very beginning, her passion and deep knowledge of the area made the tour not only fun but also truly authentic and enriching. The route was perfectly planned, with interesting stops and insightful explanations that helped us genuinely connect with the local culture and history. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We’ll be recommending it to everyone!
Amazing experience, completely awesome and fun. Very interesting and good to learn about local culture. The honey was completely delicious.
I really enjoyed the trip, cycling around the village is relaxing and peaceful! You can see Gunung Merapi along the way, and visit the temples as well.
Great experience, we've had bit of everything and the route was quite scenic. Great filler for typical Yogya sightseeing and definitely one of the best value for money.
This bike tour was one of my favorite experiences in Yogyakarta. We rode through peaceful village roads and rice fields just outside Prambanan, and it felt like such a genuine way to see daily life in the area. The pace was relaxed, and the scenery was beautiful, with quiet paths, friendly locals, and even a few curious cows along the way. What really made the experience special were the guides—they were kind, thoughtful, and clearly love what they do. They shared stories about the local crafts and culture, and it never felt rehearsed or touristy. Just authentic and warm. I left feeling refreshed, connected, and grateful for the glimpse into this side of Java. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for something meaningful and grounded while visiting Yogyakarta.
The experience was incredible! Our host was warm, welcoming, and spoke excellent English. We were greeted with cold water and snacks, and the bikes were in great condition. Our tour guide was fun and friendly—we loved spending time with her. The ride took us through stunning rice paddies and offered immersive cultural experiences like traditional snack-making, tofu-making, and visiting a local beekeeper. We also explored beautiful Buddhist and Hindu temples and learned about their rich history. It was an amazing value, we felt safe the entire time, and it was a truly beautiful way to experience the country. Highly recommended!
If you are in Yogyakarta and visiting Prambanan, absolutely do this tour! This was one of the highlights of our multi-week visit to Indonesia. You will learn so much, do so much and enjoy so much within 2,5-3 hours and this is all while pedalling along rice fields, local villages and enjoying the breeze and lush scenery. To get a glimpse into the local people’s everyday lives and try the local produce was such an enriching experience. We loved every second of it. Our guide was a lovely and knowledgeable young lady who was extremely passionate of what she showed us. By taking this tour you support local communities and young people in Indonesia.
It was amazing, we saw a lot of new things and algo explained everything very well. He helps everyone around hem and knows a lot. Thankyou so much!
I went on a fantastic private tour with Alga! Beautiful scenery of rice terraces, temples, and local village. We took many good photos. The tour provided unique insight into local community and food production. Alga was very knowledgeable about heritage and history of the area. Complementary snacks, coffee and tea was a nice touch.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and the ride through the rice fields and villages was beautiful! We also loved the experiences with the local tofu and honey producers.
I loved the sights we saw on this tour and a nice way to see the local countryside. Would recommend AlgaLove and his teammates
Mr. Alga make us comfortable during our tour and easy to talk with a good english for us foreigners. We learn alot specially cultures of locals. And visited some temples, honey making, tofu making and a lot more. I’ll definitely try it again and bring friends next time.
Interesting experience where you can get to learn more about village life while enjoying views of the paddyfields and temples near Prambanan temple. From demonstrations of how to make tasty snacks to learning more about a temple fusing both Hindu and Buddhist elements, the tour was suitable for all fitness levels and getting to the start point was also accessible by Grab from central Jogja.
We had an amazing experience. I was with my wife and daughter (1.5 years old). The owner had a babyseat so that was great! Beautiful surroundings, three nice stops and a lot of information! Our best trip in Jogjakarta so far!
Supernice small touroperator! Of course it seems that everybody does the same, but here it does not feel as a tourist trap at all! We saw a reel tofu fabrik, a lovely emping maker, and a very frienly bee-keeper. With no pressure of buying anything. I would recommend choosing Alga and book him ditectly bij his website.
